this is where i belong here with my best friends having till fun i die unsurprisingly, ryder was the kind of person who slept well into the afternoon when he could get away with it. there was usually a lot to do at the university – classes for school, chores, helping to teach the younger students – but somehow none of that mattered once he was asleep. oh, he'd tried to get up early before, but it was so unpleasant that he simply mumbled “what's the use?” every time and went back to sleep. Today was no different – ryder was a creature of habit, and sleeping in happened to be the worst one of all. sometime roughly around noon, the sun had moved enough in the sky to shine through the dorm window and break through his peaceful sleep. he'd made several attempts to block it out, ranging from simply ignoring the bright light shining through his eyelids to burying his head under multiple pillows to throwing a sheet over the window itself, but none of it was any use. the bright sunshine lit the entire dorm up, and now that he was awake and practically blinded, there was no point in trying to go back to sleep. besides, he was getting quite hungry, and it was just about lunch time, so he stumbled out of bed and began to get ready for the day. at first it was quite difficult. ryder mentally cursed any god for making the sun so damn bright as it shined through the window, prepared himself to be struck down by lightning (or a rogue sunbeam, perhaps) because of that thought, and, when he finally accepted that he was safe inside his own mind, resumed getting dressed, you never know what could happen in a wizards world.
after his eyes adjusted to the light, it was considerably easier to find what he wanted. the young man wasn't much of a neat freak, but he hid most of his things from his roommates because some of his friends liked to steal just as much as he did, and when they weren't taking his stuff they were rearranging it so that he'd never be able to find anything. Some children tended to be terrible tricksters, so it seemed safest to keep his things hidden away, even if he was one of them. after all, students were sometimes the most fun to prank. The down side of this system was that ryder himself could never remember where he put his things, and had to spend several minutes hunting everything down. today he found a couple of t-shirts wedged underneath his mattress, a pair of socks underneath the floor board where he also kept certain things that staff wouldn't exactly approve of, and a baseball cap hiding under the bed. underneath that was his cell phone, which had mysteriously disappeared the night before. on the phone was a text from himself, reminding him that his jeans were stashed in his trunk, which was locked and laying next to the baseball cap. the whole operation took at least ten minutes, and he came out looking disheveled but somewhat presentable, at least. that was of course before he remembered something important. he stopped mid step towards the door. shit. he had that thing with his friends. they were going to meet up for lunch. ryder quickly looked down at his watch. if he hurried he would make, if he believed. ryder was in the cafeteria in no time, wanting to not be late in meeting his friends, however upon arriving he noticed that they weren't there. ryder huffed, was he early. he scratched the back of his head. where were nate and pax? maybe ryder was too late? hadn't the boys said to meet at one? maybe ryder's watch was wrong? oh ryder didn't really care, he started to get into the lunch line as he waited for pepper and paprika, he wanted to talk to them about jessie, in person not just in a letter had he had recently planned with paxton but then stopped responding suddenly, he hoped that pax wasn't mad at him for not responding. but man he was starving. tag nate mclaggen & paxton finnigan, jeans and a tee shirt, uh uh powerpuff boys?

why don't you come on over. nate had woken up early from his bed. his sleep schedule varied. when he was at his mom's, nate was allowed to sleep till whenever he wanted but at his dad's it was a different story. nate had to be up early for morning breakfast at 7 sharp then after a few hours it might mean morning brunch. nate was sick of brunch. it was just like breakfast but the eggs were times a million. as much as someone could love eggs, brunch got tiring. at his mother's, nate could pour himself a bowl of cereal or eat cold pizza. it was simple. at university, it was a good balance. breakfast wasn't either quick or planned out. as for his sleep schedule, it was out of wack. today was an early morning for him. he knew that his room mates (two of them being ryder and paxton) were still in bed. nate shrugged going to go take his shower. once out of the shower, he came out wearing jeans, a red plaid shirt and dark sneakers. nate rolled the sleeves on the shirt and looked in the mirror. he fixed his hair. man he needed a haircut, oh he'd get one eventually but not today. nate was going to pull it off till later. his dad had only seen him a while ago and commented on how nate looked like he had rushed to get ready. it had been a small dinner but his dad had blown it out of proportion. it had snagged him a date that night. with a young girl arya? he was sure that was it. he hadn't had time to talk to either ryder or paxton about that mishap though. it was strange that they hadn't spoken yet. they had talked but not enough that nate would say anything about having a date. he was known for being a guy who didn't do dates. he only flirted. nate wasn't a player but he didn't like commitment. he had finished the waffles that were in front of him. he didn't know how long it would take for paxton or ryder to get ready. nate looked at the fruit bowl in the front and grabbed at an apple. he tossed it in the air before walking outside. he would take a walk to waste some time.
nate walked back into the school after taking a walk around. he had found a group of friends but had decided to leave them after they mentioned going to hogsmeade. nate wasn't in the mood to go and he wanted to find his two buds. the boys were supposed to meet up today. it would be a good time to just catch up on what was happening. none of the boys had majored in the same field which meant different classes and different schedules. at hogwarts, it was easy since all of them had been in hufflepuff but since then it had been harder for them to get together. nate walked back into the cafeteria feeling like it was lunch time. his stomach reminded him that it was. he brushed back his brown hair that had been whipped by the wind towards his face. his eyes were now in clear view. nate quickly spotted ryder sitting at a table. a smile appeared on his face as he lifted his hand. he gave ryder a wave. "ryder!" he exclaimed from across the cafeteria. the pace of his feet quickened as he made his way to where ryder was. nate pulled out a chair from the table and sat down. "where's pax?" nate rubbed his hands together. "i'm so hungry." nate's brown eyes looked around hoping to see him. he was their third musketeer but he was late and nate didn't want to wait for food. "we've all been so busy. finally we get to get together." he put his hand out to start their handshake. they really couldn't start catching up until paxton came.

( OUTFIT ) click! There was no such thing as early in the morning for Paxton. Sleeping at all for him was sleeping in. He had a pretty intense set of classes, this year especially, so getting up this morning at 6 am in time to shower for class wasn’t that big of a deal. He rolled out of his bed silently, pulling the curtains back around the bed to keep his obsessive-compulsive disorder from being distracted by the unmade bed. He quickly selected an already put together outfit from his trunk. Ryder always said that the first sign that he was queer was that Paxton organized his clothing into outfits on a regular basis. It was really something that he’d been doing for ages, it just made the mornings easier, because he didn’t have to worry about making sure his khakis went well with his button up and his socks didn’t clash with his shoes. Pax took the outfit with him into the showers along with a towel and the rest of his toiletries. He was in and out of the shower in a heartbeat, finding himself toweling off his hair and dressing himself in no time. He dropped his toiletry bag back off at his trunk before slinging his messenger over his shoulder and striding out of the dorm room into the nearly empty common area and further into the deserted hallways. He sighed quietly, not sure why he’d chosen the only subject track that had him going to class early on a Saturday morning before everyone else was even awake. A glance at his watch told him that he had time to run by the cafeteria and grab a coffee, which had become a probably unhealthy habit for him. But he did it again anyway, taking a long swig of the bitter black liquid as he strode into a half full classroom and set his bag down, preparing for class.
Paxton was definitely one of the most studious in his house. People wondered frequently how he hadn’t been put in Ravenclaw, but he always shrugged them off, with the knowledge that he was perfectly happy in the house he’d been in for years. He pulled out his notebook and a pen to take notes with, diligently focusing all of his attention on the lecture taking place at the front of the room as long as he needed to. The class seemed to fly by, at least by Paxton’s watch it did, and he left with plenty of time to visit the Library and work on an essay before he was supposed to meet Nate and Ryder for lunch. The two of them could potentially still be in bed, though he hadn’t thought to check before he’d left in the morning. Well, Ryder at least most definitely wasn’t awake. Paxton rolled his eyes and sighed as he hurried up to the library, securing himself a table and a stack of books to consult on the subject at hand. He lost himself in his writing for a while before being drawn out as his habitual glance at his watch showed 12:50. He was supposed to be meeting the boys for lunch in ten minutes. Not the type to be late for anything, Pax hurriedly shoved his things in his bag and rushed out of the room, towards the stairs that would take him to the cafeteria.
Quality time with the guys was something that he’d been seriously missing out on lately. They just had schedules that were so terribly different from one another that they didn’t end up having free periods together very much, and he was sure that they had a lot to catch up on. Ryder had sent him a letter about some new girl he’d already messed things up with, and he was sure Nate had something to share as well. Paxton was frequently the only one that didn’t have anything to say. Of course…he never had any girl stories to share because well…he was gay. But he didn’t have much in the way of guy stories to share either. His mind flickered to his run in with Teddy Abercrombie in the locker room, but he didn’t know whether that was significant enough to count. He didn’t even know if anything had really happened there….it had felt like it did, and he hadn’t stopped thinking about the Freshman since. He’d throw something in about it if the conversation called for it, but he was usually fine with simply listening. Paxton pushed open the cafeteria door at 1:02, cursing himself for loosing track of time. He went quickly through the line, picking out his food as fast as he could and locating the table his boys had claimed within seconds. ”Hey, sorry I’m so late.” |
he said, frowning down at the 1:05 on his watch. He set his food down at the table, taking a seat by Ryder and dropping his bag to the floor. ”nice to actually see you two for a change.” he sounded, half serious and half sarcastic as he put his hand out to join the handshake that Nate had apparently just started. [/div] so excited for this!!

this is where i belong here with my best friends having till fun i die ryder had his little things. he had weird habits cool habits even just down right strange habits. however he had the band and then he had the powerpuff boys and everyone in the school called them that after freshman year. ryder didn't why they still called them really but he loved it none the less. only because he thought it was the funniest thing of life. there was a muggle television shows, the powerpuff girls and for freshman year halloween, ryder had convinced his mates to dress up as the powerpuff boys and it had stuck for ever on. ryder loved it of course, he wasn't afraid to dress up like a chick and he wasn't afraid to beat up anyone saying anything about pax dressing like a chick in a heart beat. and that was on ryder's non violent days... on the odd day that he was having those. don't get him wrong ryder wasn't violent but he wasn't a pacifist. if someone where to pick a fight ryder would not just stand by and let them pick on him. or anyone for that matter. he didn't like to fight but if it had to come to that then it had to come to that and ryder made sure the other person regretted simple as that. as of the late with everything that had been going on ryder hadn't been feeling very fighty. especially with all the drama that was jessie related. ryder couldn't help two things at the thought of her name. a smile... and a headache. as beautiful and as incredible as she was she was still just amazingly impossible to handle, he'd broken her... made her cry, ryder still couldn't forgive himself for that one. it was a big deal to make someone cry, even though it was sort of what he was aiming for, to make her realize some true feelings, he didn't want her to cry cry, and ryder didn't deal well with ryder girls.
he sighed a little, placed his head in his hand the same second that he heard his name being called. ryder looked up to see paprika, aka nate mclaggen, he smiled. "paprika!" he yelled loudly, a few people turned but he didn't cared. it wasn't like ryder had any sense of embarrassment anyway. ryder smiled at his friend when he sat down in front of him. "no idea, ten bucks he's freaking out about being five seconds late," smiled ryder. he loved to poke at pax's obsessive behavior he had been doing it since about first year, it was only right that tradition would keep going. "me too, but when am i not," agreed ryder nodding a little. ryder took a look around the cafeteria the same second that nate did too. ryder nodded. "sucks that we all choose different careers, least we sleep in the same please... not that it matters... since all i do is sleep and pax doesn't," smiled ryder once again. it wasn't as much fun as it had been in hogwarts he would admit but it was still fun rooming with his best friends, he still however wished that girls were rooming with boys. but that was another fantasy. suddenly a wild paxton appeared. "nice to finally see you out of the hermit hole... i mean library pax," ryder began the handshake the way that it always did and the difficult patterns and movements began. to explain would take a billion years. it's better just left unsaid. " you got food without us," ryder glared at his friend a little but choose instead a different approach. he stolen something off of pax's tray. "since i don't want to stand, thank's for lunch, mate," smiled ryder brightly. [/div] tag nate mclaggen & paxton finnigan, jeans and a tee shirt, yayay

why don't you come on over. nate shook his head with a laugh. damn paxton. nate didn't mind being late. it was better to be late than early when meeting friends. nate didn't want to be the awkward loner waiting for his friends. ryder had clearly been that person but someone was bound to be first. "i'm surprised he wasn't first. i'm actually glad, he'd have a fit at me right now about being late." nate smiled sitting down. "we should all just become teachers at hogwarts together. go back to where we started. you can teach music, i'll teach muggle studies and pax can teach arithmancy or something too complicated for us to understand." nate grinned at the idea of all three boys being teachers. that was too funny to even imagine. the three could never be taken seriously as teachers together. they would be the biggest joke since the year of umbridge. while nate hadn't been even born during that time, his father had told him of how vile that woman had been. nate knew how smart pax was. he was the brains of the group and with nate was able to control ryder. just speaking about pax, nate saw that he now appeared. the three boys were in sync with their handshake. childish but it had started in hogwarts. nate had kept the traditions of their time at hogwarts. it had been a good time that nate didn't want to stop. while he was known for being very polished, nate was able to be a little more relaxed with the other two. it was just that nate had grown up with them. through their teen years together, they had grown very close. they were in the same year, same classes and same dorm. there were times when nate didn't know why he was friends with them but in the end, he knew that he wouldn't be the same person if it wasn't for them. he'd probably be a stuck-up of a rich boy without them.
"pax, you finally show up." nate's grin grew wider. he saw the food that pax was holding and the grin faded. nate's brown eyes looked down at the food then up at pax. he could feel ryder's glare on pax but didn't bother glaring. he wanted to know what the explanation was on why he had food and why he didn't. this wasn't fair. nate dragged ryder to the line. while nate wanted to take food too from pax's tray, he knew that wasn't enough food to satisfy all three boys. the line had grown shorter and nate was able to get his food quickly before making his way back to the table. nate picked up his fork digging into food. he swallowed his food before speaking. "what have you been up to that i haven't been included in? i'm actually a little mad that i don't know anything." nate shrugged. he really wasn't but it didn't feel right that he had no idea what was happening in ryder and pax's life. he felt the need to invade. he would never feel this way about anyone else but with these two, it was very different. nate still hid things from the two when it came to his family but he didn't feel the need to be the perfectionist that he was with everyone else. nate could make a mess with them. they knew how messy nate could get with his belongings. nate had people to clean up for him at home but living by himself without anyone to clean, nate was a horrid mess. his bed was never made, he could hardly tell what clothes were washed and which weren't and things often got lost. the other two boys knew nate past the vast amounts of ties that he owned in his closet.
