there's a fire starting in my heart reaching a fever pitch and it's bringing me out the dark [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style,background-image: url('http://i53.tinypic.com/wb98wn.jpg');,true] --
university was definitely an experience for Aria, that she could easily admit. her classes were a bit more challenging then they had been at Hogwarts. she found herself actually needing to focus and not paying attention to the hot guys around her. that was a first. usually the hot guys came first in Aria's mind. however she wanted to do well in her studies. as easy as studying usually came to her, she was finding it harder this year. with majoring in History of Magic as well as taking an interest in wandware, her work load was practically doubled. the Professor's were still just as boring as ever, that was something she was sure would never change. if it wasn't for her lollipops and her morning burst of caffeine she was sure she'd never make it through any of her classes. besides she also had that need to impress her parents with her grades. they were typical happy with whatever grade she achieved but she could tell they expected better when she didn't get a high grade. she had graduated from Hogwarts with majority of OUtstandings and Excellents. she was smart, it was just applying herself that was usually the issue. with so many distractions around though, Aria didn't really blame herself. sure the guys were still there in University. most of them though she had either already messed around with or she wasn't attracted to them. part of her mind told her it was because she was growing up. the larger part of her though was convinced she just needed someone to spice things back up for her again.
even the thought of returning to Mason had been in the back of her mind, but there was no way she was going to stoop that low. Aria wouldn't classify him as a mistake exactly but she definitely didn't want to go back down that path of her life. he had been the one to pull the wool over her eyes. had her believing he cared about her but once she slept with him, the truth was right there before her eyes. she didn't loathe Mason Aesalon but he wasn't exactly someone she was fond of either. Aria refused to be in that position again, to be vulnerable. it wasn't as though she shut her heart off completely, she just refused to give it to a guy easily. if they wanted her love they were going to have to work for it. prove that they were worthy of it. none had as of yet, though she wasn't exactly giving them any kind of chance either. the odd one confessed feelings for her, wrote love letters to her, but none of them were it for her. she kept the letters because she thought they were cute but she just didn't feel it with them. convinced that it was just the good time they had with her that had them saying this foolish stuff. Aria believed in love she did, she grew up with it. she just wasn't sure it was for her exactly, not yet anyways. in the mean time she was enjoying herself and having fun. she saw nothing wrong with it, no matter what the student population was saying about her. she was a Flint it was going to take more then harsh words to teeter this girl. she had met some rather interesting guys on her journey thus far, so she saw no reason in stopping. it wasn't like she wasn't safe and made sure she was disease free. Aria was probably one of a few girls that could say proudly that she had been tested yearly for just about anything under the sun. a girl that was active as she was had to or else merlin only knew what she could catch.
the only persons opinion that really mattered to her was her big brother's, Lucian. she knew he was protective and didn't exactly approve of her lifestyle but it was never something they really discussed. she was sure he knew what she did in the back of his mind, but it wasn't something easy to bring up. it wasn't as though her parents knew how promiscuous she was. they'd lock her away for sure, especially her father. the way she looked at it though, she was just shifting through her options. she was nineteen years old, there was no need for her to settle down just yet. not when there was so many guys out there for her to explore through. a smile crossed her lips at this thought. there was just far to many men out there for her to pick just one. she knew love would find her when she least expected it, which was exactly why she wasn't looking for it. why go looking for something that would eventually find her anyways? besides, if it didn't her parents would have her mixed up in an arranged marriage before she could protest. either way she looked at it, her life would be tied down one day. so why not enjoy it well she could? leaning back in the chair at the salon she looked down at her nails that were currently being manicured. every sunday she came to the salon to get her hair done then to get her nails done. in order to look perfect for the fresh week ahead of her.
this sunday was no different, even though she had arranged to meet her brother for lunch. she was excited to see him, since they didn't see each other much anymore. University was kicking both of their butts she supposed. pressing her freshly glossed lips together, turning her head to gaze out the window. watching as the people passed by the salon. rating the guys as they would each walk by. one instantly received a minus twenty though for reminding her of Winter Scamander. he was the one guy that she couldn't seem to get. the one guy that seemed to have no issue saying no to her. Aria didn't like that word, not one bit. she didn't mind using it herself but she hated when men used it towards her. "all done miss." the little women behind the corner tore Aria from her thoughts. with a smile she looked down at her nails. they were perfect. "thank you. they are perfect as usual. you out do yourself every time." offering the women a smile Aria handed her some money then gathered her things. being a wizarding salon the nails were dried instantly so she didn't have to worry about wrecking them. with her clutch purse in her hand she exited the salon and looked down at her watch. she was running a few minutes behind to meet her brother. looking both ways Aria walked across the street, pleased that the restaurant wasn't too far. the bell above her head dinged as she entered. immediately looking for Lucian, a smile gracing her lips when she found him. "so sorry i'm late. salon appointment ran a bit longer then planned. worth every minute though." sliding into her seat and crossing her legs she looked over at her brother. "lunch is on me, but ice cream after wards is on you." Aria adored her brother so she was determined to make this afternoon last. "do you wanna eat her or grab take out?" looking around the restaurant it wasn't exactly her cup of tea but she'd stay if he wanted too. |

And through the rising and falling apart, We discover who we are lucian was someone who didn't have problem. he just didn't have them. he liked to keep himself away from drama and that kind of thing. he also liked being in control of the situations around him and having drama around him was just something he really didn't want so it was very normal that he tried to constantly stay away from it but now it seemed as though he was creating it himself. he was possibly the most paranoid person when it came to having drama around him. he just didn't like that kind of stuff. he liked being in control, he dind't like to lose control of what was around him what he was doing, what he had, what made him who he was. but that wasn't nearly as important to him at that time. he was in a committed relationship with a wonderful girl a girl who made him feel awesome and he loved to make her feel awesome so what was the problem between them? there was the obvious one, he was engaged to marry someone else, to love and raise a family with someone else, even if that someone else had been his best friend at some point in his life. but she wasn't that anymore, she had been taken away from that position, lucian didn't even want to call summer human anymore but that didn't change the fact that they were still to wed.
luke was at loss of words, really. he was in a blur of a place that he didn't want to be in, he was stuck in aplace of middle disgrace and he wasn't allowed out until he either killed him or until he went completely and utterly insane. he didn't want to be insane. he wanted to be sane. wanted to be nice, wanted to be everything that he was meant to be. was that too hard to acknowledge? he didn't really think so. it didn't matter he was going to talk to his best friend, the red head in his life and his baby sister. lucian had a relationship with his sister most people dreamed about. that was something that luke never took for granted. the relationship he shared with her was something that he loved dearly, that was another friendship that luke wasn't about to waist. however with all the drama in his life he felt like he was wasting their time. he didn't deserve to be in the drama that luke figured he was in for the need to be met as soon as he could come to the restaurant. luke worried about his friends, he needed to worry. if he didn't worry about his friend then his own mind was free to wander on about his own love life and that was one thing that luke tried to not think about on a daily basis. instead he figured it be better for himself and for everyone else in his life to just pretend that he was only in love with fawcett and that was it. however he knew himself that that wasn't the only think catching his thoughts. stupid summer, with her stupid eyes and stupid bright red dazzling red hair. stupid female population. merlin did luke feel like a child thinking that way. who wouldnt? he was back in that first year stage when all he thought about was how icky girls were and how he definably didn't want to date one the way the other people did. that was something that had changed through out the years though and he wished that it hadn't sometimes. he wished he was little naive virgin boy who didn't want to date a girl because they had cooties or they were icky. why wasn't he still like that? screw those sexy figures and everything about them.
it was sunday and the flints, the older pair anyway, had agreed to meet for lunch something that lucian was looking forward to quite a lot. it would take his mind off his love life and focus on something else, his sister's excess of one. luke walked into renaldo wearing a causal blue shirt, pants. he smiled at the hostess. luke sat down at an empty table sighing a little, his sister the late one. he smiled at his own comment seeing her walk in only a few seconds after thinking it. luke looked at her nails only paying a little attention to them. "amazing," said luke only glancing at the nails from the menu. his stomach was already begging for something to eat. luke laughed a little. "perfect i was just about to invite you to ice cream anyway," he commented softly. luke looked around the restuant when aria mentioned eating in. it wasn't very crowded and luke didn't feel like eating outside. "i'm perfectly fine eating at this table," he motioned to where they were seated at the moment smiling slightly. he felt like he hadn't seen his sister in ages, though it'd barely been a few days. "start telling me, how's life?" luke didn't look up from menu, he was interested but it wasn't the conversation that he wanted to have with aria, he wanted to talk about her sex life... and how there should be less of. however lucian wasn't about to just jump into that conversation, he was a flint he had manners. he flipped to wines, was it too early to drink? he knew he was going to need it with the conversation topic he wanted. there were only three things that Aria would never reschedule, no matter what. a night out with Nyla, getting together with Ben and then getting together with any one of her siblings. there may have only been two of them but she wouldn't reschedule them no matter what came up. the only thing that might cause her to alter her plans would be if one of the them needed her desperately. that or if she finally got the chance to sleep with Ben, then she'd drop just about everything. however, that was neither here or there. she had never rescheduled on her brother and though she may run a little bit late at times she always showed up. he needed her just as much as the other important people in her life did. maybe even more with everything that was going on with him. she honestly couldn't believe that Summer had sold him out to their father. she had thought the red head had been her brother's best friend. the brunette didn't even care if the girl did it out of jealousy, it was wrong. Aria would be hard pressed to ever forgive the girl. even if Lucian did. thankfully she was a great actress and she could pretend for Lucian but she'd always be cautious of Summer. for his sake. someone needed to watch his back and Aria no longer placed her trust in the girl. trust was something that was important to her. she didn't betray anyone who was important to her and she expected the same behavior from them. anyone who hurt them didn't earn a second chance with her, it just didn't work that way in her mind. once someone hurts you, there is nothing to say they won't do it again. especially if you give them equally opportunity every time you turn around.
that was part of the reason she stuck with no strings attached relationships. she didn't do commitment. she made the mistake of caring about someone once before and that completely bite her in the arse. not that she needed to give that any thought right now. shaking those thoughts from her head she looked over at her brother. smiling as he barely paid any attention to her nails, seemingly to focused on the menu. "a wee bit hungry are we Lucian?" she laughed, picking up her own menu. the long debate came of what to order as she looked at the selections. the restaurant was known for its amazing food. Aria had heard nothing but rave reviews about it. she hadn't eaten there herself before so she was willing to give it a chance if Lucian wanted to remain. looking over her menu to her brother a large smile spreading across her lips. "i should have figured as much." she knew her brother well. ice cream was just something they often shared together, almost like a tradition if you will and she adored it. didn't matter what the weather was, when they got together ice cream was almost guaranteed on the list. "sounds good to me then." crossing her legs beneath the table she went back to the menu, trying to pick out something to eat. Lucian was usually always ready before she was and half of the time wound up eating half of her food. mainly because she didn't eat all of that much, but he usually liked whatever she ordered and she had no problem sharing with him.
"life?" Aria echoed, giving her some time to think on her answer. "its going rather well thus far." she replied, her eyes not coming off the menu. "i'm pretty sure University is going to kick my arse this year but the challenge is finally there. Hogwarts was far to easy, i could slack off far to much." a small smile as memories played through her mind. fond memories. slacking off had definitely been one of the things she did at Hogwarts and in that time was usually when she found her next guy for the evening. University wasn't offering her that same chance. "mind you its cutting into my social life a little bit which isn't good at all. before you say it i know i am there to study but all studying and no fun makes a very grumpy Aria." she stated, almost predicting what her brother was going to say. finally deciding on what she wanted she set her menu down and closed it up. taking her napkin and draping it over her lap, looking across the table at her brother. "other then that life is pretty much the same. met a few new guys, you know. the usual." she shrugged her shoulders. smiling as the waiter returned to fill their glasses with water. trying not to laugh as he almost over flowed Lucian's for the simple fact that he was staring at her. shaking her head, she picked up her glass as the waiter walked away taking a small sip. "what about you? how's the engagement to Aubrey going?" no longer calling Summer by her first name. she didn't deserve it anymore and Aria was back to formalities with the red head.
"found a way out of it yet?" she asked curiously, setting her glass back down on the table. Lucian knew Aria would do anything to help him, it was just what she did as a sister. she didn't judge her brother for wanting to date a muggleborn. it was his choice and his life. she wasn't exactly fond of these arranged marriages their parents seemed obsessed with putting them in. yet she knew one would eventually be coming her way. she just hoped to merlin it was someone she could stomach or at least get along with. what she didn't understand was the need for them when their own parents found each other out of love. understanding her parents though was something she gave up a long time ago. they did what they thought was best and the children were given little choice in the matter. |

And through the rising and falling apart, We discover who we are luke was a ball of confusion just to begin to describe what his life had been the last couple of weeks really. he was one of a kind with the whole well totally crazy look to him and feel to him that he carried around. he wasn't able to get his mind in a straight line. it was barely possible too. he wanted to give his whole heart to annaliese and he honestly truly did but it wasn't as easy as he would have liked it to have been. he wanted someone to hand him a handbook, something that would help him, guide him in making the right decision so that he didn't make the complete wrong decision, so that he did the right thing instead of the wrong one. but that was the problem, luke always seemed to be making the wrong decisions instead of the right ones. he hated that part. he wanted to be the good guy, the one that helped everyone and make everyone else feel better instead of having everyone make him feel better about his life and what he was up to. he was always up to something bad, always doing what he shouldn't have been doing, instead of trying to do what could even be remotely right. he stupid, selfish, totally out of proportion and totally just out there completely. and in the good hyper with friends and girlfriends way. he was out there in the whole trying to put up a facade for something and the worst part was that he wasn't even sure what he was hiding. however he was sure that he was hiding something, a secret in himself that he would need to figure out later in his life time. but alright so luke was slightly in love. no no he wasn't. well okay only slightly really but that word had to be taken to another level. it also depended on who they were talking about. annaliese, that was true love, he wouldn't admit that to himself though. she was utterly perfect for him, she was him in girl form except with endless sex that luke had expirienced before her, it was none important now though. she was perfect for him.... but not perfect for his parents.
luke stayed looking down at his menu though his thoughts running a mock. he looked up at aria when she spoke. only few people spoke to him by his full name and those people were the ones closest to him. he liked it best that way. he chuckled softly. "just a tad bit dearest sister," he whispered. it wasn't quite hard for the senior to decide what to order, he usually walked into a place with his thoughts already made up on what he wanted to eat. this time he wanted something with chips, for some particular reason unknown to him. he rolled his eyes at his sister. "cold food is not good food, aria," he commented turning his attention back to the menu. however upon asking his sister about her life he turned his full attention to her, ignoring the menu before him. he smiled at her softly, drifting memories of hogwarts into his brain. his nose twitched a little when she mentioned her own social life something that lucian wasn't all too keen about. lucian glared at the waiter as he walked away. "how come there are never any waitresses that can attended to you?" he mumbled so low his own ears couldn't almost pick it up. "that social life of yours is quite dramatic don't you think?" he pondered, it was the softest way he could have ever thought of putting it. his nose twitched again at the thought of aubrey. he didn't want to think about red heads at all. he hated all of them really. damn them all to hell... except for his beautiful annaliese. yes all except for her. "unfortunately no... and it's taking a negative toll on my relationship with annaliese as you can so clearly imagine... not a positive feeling at all," sighed lucian. he placed the menu down on the plate. "the possibility of eloping however, dearest sister, has crossed my mind many times... i do not want to marry that devil in a dress," he spoke leaning over to lower his voice. he leaned back over his chair and sighed once again. this was the first time he'd voiced his thoughts. there's a fire starting in my heart reaching a fever pitch and it's bringing me out the dark [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style,background-image: url('http://i53.tinypic.com/wb98wn.jpg');,true] --
there weren't very many people in Aria's life that got the attention that Lucian did from her, especially in the male form. Nyla and her sister where two of the others, but Lucian was always an exception. sure he was her brother and sometimes they could annoy one another but if and when they ever got in an argument it never lasted very long because he was one of the best friends she had. it was safe to say that Lucian was one of the only solid males in her life and she really wished to keep it that way. sure, she had all of her male best friends but none of them meant as much as Lucian did to her. she loved them all in her own way but she only had one brother and that was the blond sitting across from her. it was funny how she wound up a brunette with hair as dark as the night sky and he had blond hair that was as platinum as the bloody stars. each of them taking after a parent in their own way. smiling across at her brother, if one thing she knew for sure was that he had quite the appetite and keeping him from his food was not good. "well then, lets get you some food pronto shall we?" she teased, laughing softly. she really didn't want her brother in any kind of foul mood, around her was one time when he could be carefree and she wouldn't judge him for it. "ice cream is cold and it is delicious." sticking her tongue out at him she laughed once again. even though she knew what he meant she was just having fun.
raising her eyebrow at his comment she shrugged her shoulders innocently. "because then i would never get to see that look upon your face." grinning now, she adored when he got all over protective brother on her. "lets not forget the one waitress who served us and nearly dumped a jug of water on me because she couldn't keep her eyes off you. or the one that nearly flung a bowl of ice cream at another customer because she was too busy checking you out. or hell, even the one that walked into a bloody door because you smiled." they were just a few of the waitresses that had crossed their paths over the years but Aria had the pleasure of laughing at each of them each and every time. "its not just me dear brother. besides, how do you know it was me he was checking out and not you?" Aria questioned with a teasing glint in her eyes. she always had so much fun whenever she was around Lucian. she knew the waiter had been clearly looking at her but it honestly wouldn't have surprised her if a male showed interest in her brother. he was a good looking fellow, it ran in their genes. picking up her glass of water Aria looked over the rim of it at her brother at his question. taking a sip then setting it back down she gave another shrug. "i wouldn't exactly call it dramatic but it certainly is interesting." which was exactly the way she liked it. was drama involved? certainly, girls were never really her biggest fan but she got over it. "interesting, exciting, fun. you know, all those evil words." a laugh escaped Aria's lips, since most people saw her lifestyle as a sin.
her brother's opinion though was probably one of the most important ones too her and though she knew he didn't like what she did with her life, it often wasn't something they talked about. she hated disappointing him and he hated seeing her cry, it had been a moot point for the most part. on the odd occasion their lives would get brought up and Aria would listen more to her brother then he thought she did. "yes, i don't imagine any girl would like being with someone who is engaged." even Aria didn't think she had gone down that path, yet. a married man perhaps once in her life time unintentionally but never an engaged one. "do you need me to talk to annaliese? tell her what a blood sucker your so called fiancee is?" Lucian knew she'd do it too, she hated seeing him upset. "or perhaps i can help you set up a romantic evening with her? you can use my apartment and i'd keep father occupied." naturally she'd have to let Nyla know but that wasn't really a problem. "eloping hm? well, just make sure i am there. i wouldn't want to miss you getting married. more importantly let me know if i can help in any way. maybe push the devil down a well without her wand?" oh the endless possibilities of getting rid of Aubrey. she could come up with many just of the top of her head without much thinking at all, it would be scary what she could come up with if she actually sat down and thought about it. "anything i can do to help, you know i'm there." smiling sincerely at Lucian, it was the honest to merlin's truth. |

And through the rising and falling apart, We discover who we are lucian never enjoyed being the center of attention. he liked leaving that for people like aubrey and though he hated to admit that they were in the same category something his sister. his sister hauled attention to her like no one could ever hope so, it was quite strange. the trait of hauling attention to one self ran in the flint family faster than being attractive and if you asked anyone, the flint family was quite an attractive family. even mum and dad were still looking incredible at their age, and they hadn't had any work done. family portraits made other family portraits jealous. it was quite funny and every time someone brought it lucian couldn't help but laugh for a few minutes. at the moment lucian was starving and if he didn't get his food he'd go insane. completely and utterly insane and aria knew that very well. which was why her next statement made him chuckle. "that would be best," chuckled lucian lightly. he nodded agreeing with her sister. this was true, ice cream was cold and it was delicious. "yes well anything that's not meant to be cold and is cold is just not right," his nose wrinkled slightly at the thought of having cold food. he laughed at her childish move. he rolled his eyes though at her next statement, he knew how much she enjoyed that he had some kind of worried or weird look on his face. as aria started to mention the past waitresses that had hit on lucian he couldn't help but laugh a little. "ahh yes i wished we had gotten a video tape of the one with the door," he chuckled brightly. his nose twitched again, the thought of having the waiter checking him out made him feel not uncomfortable but slightly proud of himself in a way. "because little sister i know that look on your face that's your game face... even if you aren't going to give him anything," smiling lucian. lucian had never had the disadvantage of seeing his little sister at a party but she had seen her flirt back and sometimes just to get a reaction, he did the same thing. it was quite fun, he would admit. however now he was taken... twice. his nose twitched once again. he absolutely abhorred the subject that they were heading in but he knew it was one that they had no choice but to dive straight forward. all lucian did as aria spoke those as she called them 'evil words' was stare at her. it wouldn't help that she wasn't taking what he wanted to bring up as exactly serious but lucian would see the problem with it. he had to bring it. he had to at least try, as her big brother to put some sort of control on it. "i would imagine other people would also different words but yes those are some that could cross one's mind," muttered lucian softly. he didn't want to piss off his sister in any way. or make the connection that they had weak or anything in particular. he just wanted his sister to be a little less out there, at least in a way that he wouldn't have to hear about it every other second. his nose twitched. he hated how the subject had then moved on to him. "well i don't like being engaged to her either," he sighed softly. "no no that's not necessary, annaliese and i don't keep our relationship secret," lucian nodded. the thought of eloping with annaliese made him smile almost. he wanted to, really wanted too but giving up everything he had lived his entire life with was stupid and useless plus not only might it be hard. it wouldn't be just about the money because he would be willing to work for that. he laughed. "you'd always have an invitation to my wedding dear sister don't worry about it," said lucian smiling. he sighed. he actually had no idea what aria could do to help because in general he had no idea what was going to happen. "i know, thank you," smiled lucian at his little sister, it was nice to have someone there for him. [/div] tag aria, red shirt and pants, :)
