[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style,background-image: url('http://i53.tinypic.com/wb98wn.jpg');,true] YOU'RE ONE OF A KIND !
The most unfortunate point in Ellery Josephine Harper’s life, on a yearly basis, was Harper family time. Mrs. Harper had a mandatory get together yearly, at any point she pleased, for the family to spend quality time together. This year, she had bailed due to a ‘prior commitment.’ At that point, Ellery had thought she was home free. No family dinner; she had been wrong. The year was coming to an end, and although her parents went away for the last few months of the year on vacation, they had made it so the family gathering would happen- only without them. In any other situation, the blonde would have easily bailed. Nobody was the boss of her, except herself. That was the way she lived; however, when it came to her mother, Ellery had a weakness. The Harper woman of the mansion was a full veela, and that meant when she was angry, she was the last person anyone wanted to be around. The sight was anything but pretty; therefore she was going to avoid that from happening. There was always a little entertainment in tearing apart her siblings anyways. Belonging to a family with four kids, she had her twin sister, Celeste, followed by a younger set of twins, Marley and Quinton. Out of the three, Quinton was her favorite. This had never been said out loud, as obviously she showed no love to any of them- ever- but he had the most in him that would make the Harper name not go to shame. In her eyes, the only reason it wasn’t put to shame on a daily basis was because of her. She had enough going to make up for every single one of them and all of the flaws the presented to the universe. A daily question of hers was how she could end up being born into such a family who weren’t as perfect as she was. It made no sense! But either way, she had to live with it. What family she was born into was one of the few things Ellery couldn’t take into her hands and manipulate. However unfortunate the circumstance, over the years she had come to deal with it. When Marley had grown out of her ugly years, it had been much easier to deal with the fact that they were related. To her, that had been the biggest thing to get passed when people asked if they were related. Many times she had told people no. There was no way someone as beautiful as her could be in the same bloodline as her. Ellery had her standards, and her little sister hadn’t always lived up to the minimum of the bar. Straight-forward was one thing that Ellery had always been. There wasn’t a thought or feeling that she would hold back- at least, that was how she portrayed herself. The mushy, protective emotions that she felt (come on, she is human, she has to feel a little, no matter how surprising the fact is) were always held back. Truth be told, if anyone were to really mess with her family, she would go crazy bitch on them. And this wasn’t how she usually was- compared to the state of ‘crazy bitch’ for Ellery, the stakes were raised way higher. Her nice self was the one walking into the restaurant where she was to meet the rest of her family.
Renaldo restaurant was known for being fancy. Although it wasn’t expensive (which Ellery turned her head at, since her taste was always expensive), it did hold high expectations from employees, so going there with her family always made her smirk. She was such a nice young lady when visiting; definitely a favorite customer. ”Hi there! Welcome to Renaldo’s. For one?” the hostess called out in a sing-song voice to her from behind the stand, eyes big and lips parted, pearly white teeth showing fully. Rolling her eyes, Ellery couldn’t believe the girl. ”Me? Alone? You’re kidding, right? I don’t look like you. I can actually find company.”
|
[/b] allowing a snide chuckle to leave her lips, she watched as the hostess’ eye twitched. Even with that, the smile remained. Oh how she hated the smile. ”For two, then?” the tone that she was receiving now was friendly, although not as happy. However, it was still not good enough for the blonde. ”You’re pathetic. It’s for four and a baby. No he doesn’t need one of your gross looking booster seats. They really should be re-colored. Whoever picked it out is hopefully blind. The best seat is the house, if you’d please”[/b] Ellery finished, gesturing towards the side of the restaurant she knew the table that everyone came wishing for was located. Waiting impatiently as she gathered menus, Ellery sighed overly loud as the hostess went the other way. The fact that people were entering behind her was no bother at all in Ellery’s eyes- it just added to the show. ”Are you dumb? I don’t even work here and I know what the best table is. You can wipe that fake little smile off of your face and not think I’m stupid enough to sit at the table closet to the door, which is clearly where you are leading me. I’ll just seat myself, because clearly you were hired by a dumbass.”[/b] trotting off, she sat herself in the biggest, most private table in the whole restaurant. Sliding into the center, she was surely staying there when her family arrived. Being surrounded by good-looking people who still weren’t as good-looking as she was always made her feel a thousand times better about herself; because, you know, she needed that and all. Ha! Smoothing out her red dress, Ellery gently brushed a curl off of her shoulder as she leaned an elbow on the table and gazed around. The fact that her parents weren’t showing up would make the night better, as whenever they were around she had to act ‘friendly’- or at least as friendly as she pretended to be at home, which in reality, still wasn’t too pleasant compared to the average person among her generation. Not murmuring a word when a different hostess came up and placed menu’s down in front of her, she merely kept glancing around. The room was dimly lit and very open. Servers were in classy outfits, all matching so everyone knew who worked there. Ellery laughed at the people who actually needed jobs to make a living. She had been fortunate enough to be born into a rich family; somewhat making up for the other factors that were added in, like the people she was waiting on. Ellery was not a patient person, her family being quite aware of this. She didn’t think that they would take that long, but as every second ticked by she definitely wasn’t getting any more settled. The last time she had waited for anything was when Jacen had been away for awhile, and then had returned. Like she had predicted, they would see each other. The two were inseparable in a way that they hid so the both of them could deny the obvious. Their relationship was an openly love-hate, teasing relationship. He had a personality similar to hers, though his ego was formed from confidence only, unlike her where she had not only confidence, but fact in her bloodline to make it inevitable that her beauty would shine daily. Haters hated, and she loved every little bit of it. Yawning, Ellery refused to think about Jacen now. He always made her feel off-set and weird for no particular reason. Right now she had to be in full on bitch mode. It was time for some fun- if only the rest of her family would hurry their arses up. Like come on, it had already been three minutes and counting! "mum. mum. mum. mummmmmm!" cranning her head backwards, a little blonde boy approached her in his pajama's, smiling and water bottle in his hand, the top pointing straight at her. "yes benjamin?"
|
[/b] she asked, finding that a moment later she was to find out. water dripped down from her face and all over her clothes. mouth hanging open, she let out a laugh. "bath time!!!" she heard benjamin exclaim as he scurried off giggling like mad. the blonde was shocked beyond belief. had he really just done that? there was only one explanation for it: alexander weasley. through-out the whole time that she had known him, he had been big into jokes with his best friend maverick and she had heard that there were a few more guys whom had joined into the group since then. getting up, she waved her arms once so that she could flick the water away from her arms before following benjamin to where he had disapeared into the bathroom. honestly, she had to admit it was quite a way to get her attention, and amusing at the least considering he was a four year old, but she didn't want him doing that everytime he wanted a bath. running the water, she put toys beside the tub so that, once she had her hair washed, he could play. it was a rule: no playing until the bathing part of a bath was complete. after an hour, she dried benjamin off and allowed him to pick out what he wanted to wear from a variety of clothing she laid out on the bed. moving to her room to get dressed herself, she wasn't sure what she wanted. eventually deciding on a dress, celeste slipped into it and went to get benjamin so that they could leave for the resturant. picking him up, benjamin had chosen to wear a white graphic shirt with a red sweater with a pair of dark jeans and his black runners. celeste always loved to see the happy look on her sons face after he dressed himself. he felt like such a big boy, and it was a good happy sight for a mother no matter what age they were. uncomfortable with side-along apperating with him when she didn't have too, celeste went to diagon alley, through the brick wall and into the magical world. she had chosen to live in muggle world because, in her eyes, it was safer. not to mentioned it was away from her sadistic sister. she really didn't trust ellery around benjamin. she was far too unpredictable and knew far too many things that she could teach the benjamin that celeste would prefer he didn't ever have knowledge of. could you blame her, though? they may be sisters, but they were beyond different in personality. it was hard to say if ellery even cared for her nephew and celeste did not want to find out the hard way. when it came to her other siblings, marley was great with benjamin. with quinton, the two hadn't had that much time together so she wasn't one hundred percent sure. perhaps tonight would show some light on how they were as he was coming along to the dinner. upon arriving at the resturant, celeste automatically knew that her twin sister had already arrived. the hostess' up from didn't seem to have noticed that another girl had walked in and instead continued on hating and bitching about the last girl who had come in and sat herself. covering benjamins ears as one of them swore, she cleared her throat and shook her head. one of the girls stepped back, blinking and in a stance that was ready to take some sort of attack. what had her sister done to the poor girls? "i'm with the girl, my twin sister, you all are so impolitely trashing. i'd say i'm sorry for whatever she did, but you just swore in front of my son so you have gone right on my bad side." huffing, she looked around and stopped ellery sliding into the booth. pointing toward where ellery had just disappeared into, she told benjamin to go see auntie elle for a moment while she talked to the girls. watching him go, she turned back to the hostesses. "now girls. do we really think bashing customers is a good thing to do? typically ellery is the only bitch in the family, in this case i'll make an exception. swear or bash my sister once more and i'll become your worst nightmare." twirling on her heels, she didn't know what was in her but she wasn't in the mood for people to discredit her family or talk about them behind their backs. ellery in no way deserved defending but for some reason today it had come out. coming up behind benjamin in time to see him up on the step to the booth, climbing up she watched him manouver his way up and go hug his auntie, who hugged him back breifly. "ellery." she greeted her sister with a nod, smoothing her dress out as she took a seat beside her son. after the dinner she had promised to met up with alexander in order for him to get time with his son. celeste was still far too protective to leave them alone, having been with him every waking moment for the last four years, and because of this she had declined him babysitting while she attended the dinner. however it hadn't only been declined because of the fact that she was protective; there were two attached, unmentioned reasons. the first reason was that he was apart fo the family was well and deserved to attend family dinners. the second, that she wouldn't ever imagine admitting to his face, was that she enjoyed seeing him when she brought benjamin over. it gave her an excuse to talk to him, which she had four years of catching up on to try and do. having neglected to mention the fact that alexander now was aware to her family, today seemed to be the day that they were all going to get the big news. celeste bit her bottom lip at the thought of how they'd react. the harper family all knew too well how much leaving had affected her then. would they even be concerned on how it was affecting her now? YOU KNOW I LOVE YOU SO I LOVE YOU SO - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - always | [atrb=width,240] If there was one time during the year in which Quinton Harper wasn't allowed to do whatever he wanted, it was when his mother arranged their family get together. Once a year, Quinn was required to sit down with his siblings and talk about himself, what he had going for him, and the potential he had in making the Harper name something worth hearing about. Of course, the last bit was simply for Ellery, his eldest sister. Despite knowing that his family had money, as well as the fact that they were all absolutely stunning (even their father had something going for him) Quinn wasn't very concerned about making his last name memorable lately. It could have been that school had started again, and Quinn was actually very studious when he wanted to be, or it could have been the fact that Adalynn Goyle had begun to take over all of his thoughts. Which, if you knew Quinn Harper whatsoever, you'd know that it was hardly normal for him to be thinking of anyone for an extended period of time, especially a girl that just happened to be his sister's best friend. In his defense, however, Ada was far from being like any girl he'd ever met. He couldn't even keep up with her half of the time, and anytime he wasn't chasing after her, she was consuming every spare thought that he had. Studying was a little more difficult than usual when Quinn was thinking about Adalynn, and he couldn't exactly admit that he hadn't put her first name with his surname, just to see how it sounded. Adalynn Harper was very catchy, unfortunately....which didn't really help out Quinton any when it came down to the fact that she was engaged. Yes, Quinn was falling crushing on not only his sister's best friend, but an engaged woman who didn't -- couldn't -- even give him the time of day. She was friendly enough, of course, but Quinn knew good and well that he shouldn't have chased after her to begin with. That would be his greatest downfall -- no matter the cost, he would always go after something that he had no business seeking.
Afterall, the rules had never applied to Quinn. Rules were one concept that the Harper family knew nothing about. Whether it be the fact that they were filthy rich and beautiful, Quinn really didn't care. He usually -- no, always got what he wanted, so the circumstances involved really weren't of much importance to him. His family, in a sense, was everything to him, though he hardly showed it. Oddly enough, it appeared most of the time as though he and Ellery were more similar than he and Marley were, at least in personality. But that only accounted for the few things that everyone else saw. Quinn had a completely different side of him when he was around Marley, or even Adalynn, mainly because he knew that he couldn't get away with as much when he was around them. Marley knew how he could be -- she was his twin, afterall -- and Quinn couldn't really pull the wool over her eyes at any point in time. Now, he couldn't really fool Ellery or Celeste either, but he could easily don the 'I'm better, prettier, and richer than you' charade and get along just fine with Ellery. Merlin, they could talk for hours about the Harper family being superior to everyone else in the world, but that was hardly the reason that he and Ellery were so close. Well, it was part of the reason, but not entirely. Quinn didn't really have to worry about being insecure when he was around his eldest sister. Not that anyone would suspect the Quinton Harper of being insecure at any point in time, but that didn't take away the fact that he felt completely useless around Adalynn Goyle. He had absolutely no idea why he felt the way he did, either. Had he confided in Ellery about the situation, (which was a far cry from what he would ever do concerning his love life) she would have told him to get a grip and find someone better suited for him. Someone that would bring honor to the family name, though it was perfectly capable of doing that itself. Unfortunately, Quinn didn't have any options when it came to Ada. He couldn't talk to Marley, considering Ada was her best friend, and he certainly couldn't talk to Celeste, because she would tell him exactly what he wanted to hear. Despite being like Ellery in some ways, Celeste was easily the friendlier of the two, and the more likely of all his siblings to tell him to go wherever his heart told him to go. And let's face it, that was the last thing that Quinn Harper needed to hear right now.
Quinn glanced at the girl ahead of him, who had went out of her way to open the door for him. "Thanks, babe." He said, throwing her a wink. She grinned from ear to ear, nodding repeatedly as Quinn passed her on his way into the restaurant. Several waiters were glancing towards the back, and all but one had their eyebrows furrowed in a mixture of frustration and discontent. Quinn couldn't help but smirk; it was always blatantly obvious when his sisters had arrived before him. As one of the female waiters stepped forward, still looking flustered, Quinn placed his hand upon her shoulder, smiling. "Don't blame yourself; they're always that way. I'm guessing they went in that direction?" He pointed, and she quickly nodded, crossing her arms. Quinton took a few steps, watching her make her way over to the other waiters once more. He turned, like his sisters probably had, and pointed towards the girl. "Just for your information, I know good and well that you probably get several basket cases in here on a daily basis, but my family is not one of them. I understand how frustrating it may be, working a part-time, low-wages job from nine-to-five, but it would be in your best interest to keep your mouth shut when it comes to my family. Understood?" Quinn didn't wait for her to nod her head; he simply headed in the direction of where he knew his siblings would be sitting. Quinn slid into his seat, nodding to both Celeste and Ellery before grinning at Benjamin. "Well, I wasn't first, but at least I'm earlier than Marls. What's new with you two?" He inquired, half-curious as to why he had made it to the restaurant earlier than his other half. That was certainly a first.

you were so deceiving * marley was always going to be nervous with her family. she had never felt like she fit in except when quinn was there. he was the only reason that she was ever included in anything through the years. she didn't fit in. call her the black sheep but marley hadn't grown up the same as her siblings. she had never used the fortune that her family owned. she had no reason to growing up she didn't fit in with the rest of her family. marley didn't know why but she hadn't blossomed till her seventh year at hogwarts. she had grown used to being overshadowed by her older sisters. they were identical but both stunning. walking into one of the harper family socials, the girls would gracefully come in and marley would trail behind. it was only in her freshmen year that marley actually got used to heels. harper reunions were so awkward for her. marley would stay quiet more than half the time and listen. there were reasons on why marley stayed quiet. she was scared of ellery's snide comments and marley's life never did have big updates. the most exciting things that ever happened to her were if she and adalynn went to a party. celeste was less likely to go to a party but she had benjamin. it had been a shock to the harper family but then again the harper family wasn't a normal family. they were used to the high life. while their lifestyle was described as reckless and lush, mommy and daddy had final rules. that was why marley had to go to dinner tonight. instead of staying in with adalynn like she had wanted to, she had to dress up. marley had gotten dressed seeing adalynn on the bed all comfy and calm. she wanted to freak out. she didn't feel like she had to compete with her siblings but now there was another standard for her. she had to be one of them now. she had to get dressed, put on makeup, do her hair, make sure that she was flawless. that was too much work for the girl who was used to jeans and a t-shirt. she picked up the hairspray on top of a drawer. she sprayed the hairspray on her hair causing her to cough repeatedly. marley's stomach knotted thinking about what was going to happen.
she was always scared when it came to seeing her siblings. while she was used to quinn, it still felt like he and marley weren't the same anymore. as a twin, marley could sense that something between him and adalynn was happening, she didn't think much of it. whenever she spoke to adalynn and mentioned quinn, it was like her eyes brightened. she was used to that reaction though. at hogwarts, she had been drowned by girls who constantly asked her questions about him. why did these girls care? it wasn't as if any would live up to her standards. these girls would usually talked behind her back muttering words like 'how could quinn and her even be related?' it really did sicken marley and she didn't know how any girl would ever live up to her standards. he was her twin so marley didn't understand the big deal with him. she had grown up knowing his mishaps. hard to believe that he would have flaws when it seemed that marley had taken all of them when they were younger. she felt flustered realizing that she was late. ellery was going to have her head. marley was intimidated by her. she knew that when they were growing up that ellery didn't want to know that she was related to marley. she wasn't going to blame her sister though. with the beauty that her sister was, marley was an embarrassment. it was like she was regular tap water and ellery was water from the fountain of youth. it was unfair but marley learned to accept it. the personality of ellery's also scared marley. while marley was a meek little girl, ellery made sure that she was made the spotlight. the two were both in slytherin but for completely different reasons. ellery seemed to have the qualities of a slytherin that stood out, cunning and sly while marley held qualities that were almost always underminded. qualities like being driven and self-sufficient.
marley rushed to get to the restaurant, her heels clacking on the pavement. she had been noticed by a few men walking down the street but she had been in such a rush that she didn't even notice them. marley still wasn't used to the male attention that she was receiving. she couldn't actually tell when a guy was hitting on her. walking into the restaurant, she saw stunned faces on all the hostesses' faces. marley knew instantly that her family had been here. her blue eyes and blonde hair did indicate a harper resemblance and she saw the girls freeze up. she should've been here first. if she had, these girls wouldn't look like they were looking at a stone cold murderer. marley gave a small smile. she really couldn't apologize for what her siblings had done previously but she at least not give them the same treatment as her siblings had. she saw one of the girls being lightly pushed in front. marley hadn't of even said anything and the girl directed her to the table where ellery, celeste and quinton were all sitting. before she could even say thank you, the girl had already disappeared. there was so much beauty now at the table. she was surprised that no one had come up to their table to ask if they were celebrities. marley's smile on her face faded as she became nervous. she felt her hands start to shake on the clutch she was holding. "hi," marley managed to squeak out as she took a seat at the table. she didn't know if a conversation had already started or if she made it just in time.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style,background-image: url('http://i53.tinypic.com/wb98wn.jpg');,true] YOU'RE ONE OF A KIND !
watching as her siblings started to arrive one by one, Ellery thought of how much her family was a disappointment to her. Celeste had arrived second. her twin sister. the girl who was identical to her but yet so different. there wasn't anything the same about them besides the fact that they shared a womb and their looks. her sister was a pussy to make it simple. she had no confidence, didn't know how to strut what she had been gifted with unless it was a natural movement she wasn't aware was even happening, and the girl couldn't stick up for herself for the longest time. it had taken her so long. the first time Ellery had even seen a backbone in her twin was when she had told the biggest lie of her life to Alexander. that dweeb, actually believing her. it made Ellery laugh at the thought. if he had really known her, he would have known that Celeste couldn't stop loving somebody. she was weak. she had emotions running through her constantly, they couldn't just come to an abrupt stop like she had made it seem. oh men and their common sense lacking minds. next to enter was Quinn. although he had told off the hosts, which she hadn't heard but instead observed from the distance, it didn't impress her because of the fact that Celeste had done the same. it made it mean nothing. a pat on the back was all they could receive for the attempt- though from her, that was about as loving as anyone, even her family, could ever come to except. a pat may even be too much. when it came to her brother, if she had to rank all three of them, he would be the least disappointed. for one, he was confident. he knew that he looked good, he showed it and she liked that. it was what was meant to be done. after all, they were an amazingly good looking family. however, he was a Gryffindor, not a Slytherin. to her, that meant something in his mind was fucked up. a quality that was stronger than being manipulative and cunning? no way would anything else be accepted! those were the best there were. if only she could pick her own family. last but not least, Marley arrived. out of everyone, she was the disappointment. that's right- not the most. the whole world in general. the only redeeming thing she had going for her was the fact that she was a Slytherin. how it had happened, she wasn't sure to this day. Ellery had come to the conclusion that the sorting hat was high a long time ago. it did see like the only reasonable explanation. not only had Marley not been amazingly pretty, but instead just reached pretty until her seventh year, she was insecure, quiet, shy, held-back, a pussy like Celeste, uncoordinated when it came to body movement and typically had to think about what looked good. a Harper should never have to think! it was simple- everything looked good. urg. it was so infuriating how Marley was such... Marley! no words could even start to explain how it made her feel. the best that could happen was saying that it boiled her blood. shooting her sister a dark look, Ellery hadn't even noticed at first. it seemed to be an instinct.
"well. i'm not pregnant. guys drool over me constantly without trying. meaning i don't have to even try to pick up men. i just went on a shopping spree and bought a bunch of sexy dresses. oh, and most important. i'm still utterly beautiful." adding the last part just as Marley had arrived at the table, it was then that her thoughts on Marley had even begun, the other two having finished before the question was even asked. the look ending as fast as it had started, she was half sure her sister had seen it. but it wasn't a bother, there were many more where it had rose up from. "oh wait! that's the usual. ha." smiling to herself, a chuckle escaped her lips. each comment about herself had been somewhat negatively directed towards somehow at the table. the first to Celeste, Benjamin being obvious proof of that. the second at Quinton, who in her mind couldn't get a women without putting all his effort into it. that or by taking off his shirt- because all he did have going for him was looks. but girls were smarter than guys, they could see passed that if they wanted too. the last was, once again, blatantly directed at Marley. when it came to the shopping, she just loved to announce that she blew a bunch of money, both saying that she had it (even if the rest of them did too) and that she could find enough clothes to splurge on that looked good on her. she was just getting started as the waiter came to the table. giving her order, she kept on her award-winner smile on the entire time, winked at him and watched as he stumbled away, only to notice shortly after that he had forgotten to take the rest of their orders. giggling as if she were flattered when he returned, her real thought of him were that he was pathetic (being that weak and easy to mind fuck). no big surprise came to her, though. unlike Marley, she had them boys easily. this hadn't been the first time for such a thing to happen, and it would definitely be rubbed in her face. the girl had to toughen up sometime, and who else would get her to do it besides Ellery? no one else cared about her enough to even try. ha. care. twisted, huh? but to the Slytherin girl, getting her to be a bitch and to stick up for herself, as well as strut her stuff, was caring. especially if she was crude and honest about it along the way. not that there was any other way at any other given time, because there wasn't.
