And through the rising and falling apart, We discover who we are brent twirled the blood in his cup softly, watching it move from side to side. he loved to looked at blood, it was peaceful. as half vampire he didn't need that much blood, he could survive without but there was always some pull towards it that he enjoyed more than anything else. it was his favorite food in the same sense that a muggle's favorite food could be fish and chips, his was the red liquid in his cup drawing him closer. he took a soft sip from the cup, licking his lips of any blood. he was currently in his dorm since he was drinking out a glass cup. usually when he went out in public he drank blood in a color container so that people wouldn't freak out. they knew he did but they were at least semi calm about it... sometimes. he could clearly remember that one time that he had run into a girl at nitro, and she must have jumped fifty feet off the ground, he was sure of it. it must have been a look he gave her or something but brent never saw the girl again, not that he was too sorry about that either. he knew people thought of vampires as those blood sucking monsters but he wasn't dead. he was alive, he had a heart beat, he wasn't his father. he was brent caleb.... d'eath. his father had been turned by another d'eath sometime ago and it was that d'eath's fault that brent was in the situation he was in now. alone with only carrow by his side. carrow had been his best friend since he could remember. she had always been there for him and she always stood up for him, though he was definitely more out going than her, he loved her with all his heart none the less and would kill any guy who would come near her.
brent quickly finished the cup in his hand and went to the bathroom down the hall to wash it. he got weird looks, mostly at the cup but he tried to ignore them. he'd been going to school with these people for three years some even since hogwarts and they still weren't used to him and his family. it was ridiculous. yes their father is a vampire get over it! other than that fact brent didn't really stick out much. he had his lady friends, who he kept close to his heart and his ex girlfriends but it always seemed that in everyone of his relationship both brent and the girl would end up heart broken and brent hated that fact. he couldn't' recall how many times he'd told carrow that he was going to marry her just to not deal with women anymore. countless more likely than not. brent quickly washed the cup in a sink to avoid anymore looks. he was already getting tried of them. he made a B line towards his room trying to avoid anymore stares. he shook his head as soon as he closed the door to his dorm sighing softly while he was at it. the adult then put his cup away, being such a neat kid and walked out the door again this time in search of his best friend. anytime that he was even relatively down the only person that could even bring a smile to his face was carrow. it wasn't the only reason why he wanted to walk around the grounds, he was also looking for a certain blonde that had grabbed his attention recently, but this certain blonde had a twin and if he wasn't careful he'd ask out the wrong one and that would only lead to trouble and he knew it very well.
he spotted celeste first, quietly in a bench, hunched over a book. he knew it was her for that simple reason, the fact that she was reading a book. it was only simple, unless the third one came out that the girl that he'd just spotted walking in his general direction was ellery harper. brent smiled and walked towards her stopping in front of her. he was going to ask her out a date, however he hadn't heard much about her dating just fooling around a lot with a lot of different guys. however brent was never one to judge especially since everyone always seemed so quick to judge him by his blood instead of his actual being. "hello ellery, you are looking as beautiful as ever, how are you this morning?" his voice was velvety smooth as always. it was one of the things that he had inherited from his father, that casual easy going nature with girls. he hoped that ellery didn't think that he was just trying to get her in bed, though that would certainly be a plus it was never on the top of his list. however vampire like he may be, he refused to be his father and as told in his mother's letter to him, a one night stand was never okay in his eyes... never. tag ellery, 850, picture credit to caution, oh boy here we go!

Ellery didn’t feel right. She wasn’t sick, hit over the head or pregnant- not that all three of those were even possible, but still. The blonde could feel something in her stomach wasn’t.. normal. She was having odd feelings like butterflies flapping around and hitting the sides of her stomach. Nothing of this sort had ever occurred before and she didn’t like it to say the least. Her morning hadn’t been too unusual to the rest she had lived. Like always, Ellery had woke up, picked something revealing out, admired herself in the mirror and went down to eat. That was where she met up with Jacen who, like usual, took the one and only spot that she would sit at the Slytherin table. Instead of using her wand to move him, Ellery stuck out her high heel shoe and kicked him in the side hard enough so that he moved two inches over- enough for her to fit at least half of her butt there. She had then processed to sit down, right up next to him so that she was in as much of her spot as possible. You see, if anyone else had even dared to sit where she did, much worse things would have happened than a heel to the side. With Jacen, it was different. There was something about him that just intrigued her. It was when he made some cocky remark about how close they were and how she hadn’t boot-kicked him another mile that showed him she wanted to sit next to him. Ellery typically rolled her eyes and showed no reaction whatsoever, but the butterflies had appeared then. Leaving in the middle of her breakfast, she left her stuff for Jacen to clean up (like she was going to do it!), without saying goodbye, and set route for the campus’ library. The eldest child of the Harper family was in no way a reader. She had beauty, why would she need extra knowledge too? There wasn’t even one reason that popped into her mind when she thought about it, therefore no reason existed. She knew as much as she needed to know in her mind. Searching for books that would explain how butterflies could crawl through your bellybutton, it seemed to be the only explanation that would result from what she was feeling inside. When she had asked the librarian to try and cut her trip short, the girl had smiled and said, “are you in love?” Ha! Ellery Josephine Harper in love? That was total bs. Ellery in no way believe in love! Creatures crawling through her belly button seemed far more possible; and so she continued her search.
After about fifteen minutes of just focusing on the books, her mind completely off of Jacen, Ellery noticed that the butterflies had disappeared. Having no desire to spend any more time in the library, Ellery pretty much said “f*ck it” and walked out, not bothering to put any of the six books she had taken out. It wasn’t her job. Slamming the door behind her, she found that the “keep quiet” signs were just provoking her to do it. Again, it wasn’t her problem. It was theirs for being stupid enough to put up the sign in the first place. Laughing to herself at the thought of the librarian thinking she was in love, there was no explanation other than humor that came out of it. She had to be joking, right? Jacen may have made her felt weird but she didn’t get them every time she was around him, or even think about him as much as she did herself. Only close to as much. Sure, Jacen was the one guy that she could put up with more than others’ but that was only because he wasn’t clingy. He gave her just as much grief as she gave him, and therefore it was more of a challenge- something more entertaining to do with her time. Though that didn’t go to say she hated watching weak-willed men droll at just the sight of her. She loved that too. Brushing a stand of her blonde hair behind her ear, she walked outside onto the courtyard. Summoning both her sunglasses and a towel, she had thought ahead before she went down to breakfast today. It was obvious that the day among them was a beautiful one- much like her, now that she thought of it- though realizing such a comparison didn’t take much effort. It was quite blatant. Laying the towel out for herself, she placed her sunglasses over her eyes, closing them so that she could relax. There was no way that some belly-button entering bugs were going to interrupt anymore of her day. She refused to let it happen! Breathing in and out, she knew that people were looking at her as they walked by. Why wouldn’t they be? She was giving them a sight to see. It wasn’t like there was much of it around campus. In Ellery’s mind, there were actually only two girls worth looking at. One being herself, one being her sister- no matter how much she didn’t like to admit it, they were identical. BUT, Ellery still considered herself twice higher on any scale they were compared on.
Moving from where she was lying only once her sun rays were being blocked, she would not let some drooling idiot stare and interrupt her. Ellery had rules. One of the top ones? Do not get in her way, point out the obvious or ask stupid questions. This Slytherin wasn’t one for patience and she wouldn’t act like she was for one minute. About to flip shit and who knows what else on the culprit, he lifted up her sunglasses and stopped for a moment, noticing how it was. You see, Ellery had fans, and then she had guys who nearly idolized her. This was where this boy leveled in at. ”Of course I am.” she responded, rolling her eyes. Strike number one: pointing out the obvious. Don’t get it all wrong, however, Ellery loved when people complimented her. There weren’t just rules for others, though. There were also rules for herself. She never could show satisfaction unless it was from a guy who had a girlfriend, and that girlfriend was close-by. She loved to feel superior, and gloating just added to it. She knew well enough that girls that blushed barely got anywhere with guys. Call her an expert, or even just a veela, but from either perspective, Ellery had it down naturally. Continuing, a light went off in her head- a devious one. She was going to use this boy to her advantage. She could tell from the look in his eye that it wouldn’t be hard to get him to do something that would benefit her. What that was she hadn’t yet decided. Putting on her fake, but overly convincing smile, she lightly hit him on the arm. ”Hey cutie. You’re looking mighty fine today as well. Can I help you with something?” she asked. The funny thing was, no matter how much of a bitch she was, guys always fell for her act. Too many believed the “don’t judge a book by its cover.” Although, it was unfair to say it was their entire fault. The blonde veela did have many years of practice impersonating her twin sister whom was differently different from her. Batting her eyelashes, she hoped that at some point she would a) remember his name or b) he would mention it for whatever reason because she didn’t remember faces. Clearly he had seen her before, but she didn’t recognize him so well. If she were to memorize all her fans, her memory would be in overload! There were just too many to keep track of. Planning to call him “cutie” until a time where she knew his name, she waited ‘politely’ for him to reply.

And through the rising and falling apart, We discover who we are axel d'eath had been a dick. there were no other words that could describe the vampire really. he had sat at a bar and seduced his mother, and had succeeded in seducing brent's mother, in which by the way brent had no idea how she had let herself be seduced. she shouldn't have. because the thought alone made him want to vomit. he didn't even had a picture of his mother or anything of the kind but seeing as his sister makenzie and him looked something alike with the blonde hair and everything he figured that his father had that or not he really had no idea nor did he really give two damn about his father or his mother. they were both horrible people. his father for abandoning his mother and his mother for abandoning him. what kind of people was he related to anyway? it was only a shock really that he was just like that and that he was attracted to that kind of people. it wasn't really his fault, honestly it wasn't. he was just sort of attracted to that kind of people who liked to hurt him and who he wanted to hurt him but after all he was a vampire. it was natural, well as natural as his existence was at all anyway. sometimes he wished that vampires shouldn't exist at all so that he wouldn't exist at all. but then he wouldn't have carrow and that suddenly just sadden brent's day. after all they were best friends so of course the thought of not being with her would make him sad but that sad that was weird wasn't it? wouldn't that be weird? wasn't that weird? no it was perfectly normal to have your heart jump at the thought of your best friend not being around in pain. yep normal.
brent quickly shook those thoughts out of this mind and back to the gorgeous, sententious, veela blood filled blonde standing in front of him. the first thing she said however did not amuse him what so ever. he just raised and eyebrow and turned around wanting to talk to celeste instead at least she would be nicer but then ellery spoke again and brent stopped, the sun hitting his eyes. before he heard her speak he only half felt how unconformable he was in sun. he hoped that she didn't notice how awkward he was standing in the sun. he was normally better than this. but it was a rather hot day. "Yeah?" he asked when she called out to him, he was however slightly confused when she complimented him. there was something in it for her. he knew she game. somewhat. there was always something in it for her. it was just a matter of finding out what it was about. but brent needed to get his head in the game plus he was almost just thinking about his best friend in a romantic way! what was that about! he figured he could use his girl as a distraction. not just necessarily sex because he got that out of nyla rowle when ever he asked because he was part vampire but because he needed to fall for someone in order to not think that he was thinking that he was falling for his best friend which he could possible not be. because if he was then that would be horrible for her. "actually i was wondering if maybe you'd want to go out on a date? out of the sun though, i can't stand it. you know, being me and all," said brent looking up and it and shivering a little. he really disliked that thing that was bowing up thousands and thousands of miles away. tag ellery, picture credit to caution, hehe

Ellery had to hold back a snide laugh when Brent asked her on a date. Ever since coming to the University, she had been asked out at least every week. The guys always got the same answer- when pigs fly. She gave one guy a star on his forehead saying ‘pathetic’ when he had charmed a pig into flying, as the first thing that popped into her mind was where he had actually gone to get the pig in the first place. Ellery was not the type of girl to be impressed by smart-asses that weren’t Jacen. Managing to keep her composure, Ellery felt that she was on a real roll today. There weren’t many days where if she hadn’t expected such an occasion to come up by putting herself out there that she was able to stay ‘serious’ and as if she was truly sincere. The usual common sense that the Slytherin girl had told her that going out in public with Brent would only make her best friend laugh. However, that common sense didn’t seem to be present at the time being. She had somehow convinced herself in a short time that he could actually be used like a piece of meat. He could make Jacen jealous- Ellery even had a few lines in her head already thought up. Being a veela, she had a special ability going for her. Although he was only half-vampire, so did Brent. When it came to her best friend, he had nothing of that sort. He was normal- nothing more. There was nothing “special” screaming its way out to the world. So he was a wizard, big whoop. She was a witch, and so were all the other students at the University of Hogwarts. Around where they were, it was the norm. Aside from her common sense missing, there was only one problem that would bother her with the idea of going on a date with Brent- she hated vampires. Half-vampire or full vampire, you were still a vampire. There was something about them that she just despised. Also, she liked to be the only special being around. There was only room enough for two egos (hers filled both spots without a question) and one beautiful person- which was always going to be her, no questions asked. She was, after all, the most beautiful of them all. Taking in a deep breath, she had to prepare herself for what she was planting herself into. The situation was avoidable, but she was making it seem inevitable in her mind.
Ellery knew she literally had to spit out her answer before she actually spit up laughing at his idea. ”A date? With you?” she asked, eyebrows raised. Placing her hand on her hip, she used her other hand to sweep a stray piece of hair out of her face. Catching herself, she put her sweet voice back on. ”What did you have in mind?” Ellery was very high maintenance, so she hoped to herself (the only goddess she believed in) that he would fulfill her needs for being lavished and go above and beyond. Ellery had been raised spoiled. Why would she expect anything less from other people than she did from her family? That wouldn’t be fair for her- she was beautiful, and beautiful people did need to be treated special. ”Because I’d be.. happy to go.” Ellery finished speaking, excluding the “out with you” part of her sentence in case she wasn’t able to hold herself together for much longer. She never knew how good she was going to do with some situations. With the butterflies in her stomach having occurred not that long ago, the Slytherin beauty was slightly off her game. Her mind wasn’t fully content and up to date with how it usually functioned on a daily basis. Glancing around her, she was glad to see that there weren’t too many people around them. The fact that Celeste was a distance away didn’t faze her because her sister wouldn’t dare mess with her- from a young age she had learned not to cross Ellery and this she was glad for. Ellery had learned the first steps to intimidating people by practicing on her siblings- Celeste being the first victim, considering she was around for the longest. The whole fake act that she played out for people, all in favor of her in the end, she had learned at a young age as well. Everything had started out in her household, and this particular theme had been practiced on her father. Ellery wanted to get her way, and so acting like she wasn’t the devil child got her exactly that. She was innocently smiling as she manipulated herself out of trouble and into getting more of anything and everything she desired. Her parents were such morons in her mind, really. It wasn’t just them though, it was any existing soul. They just didn’t stand a chance against her wit and talent level- it was just too advanced. The only person, who came close to her level, though she wouldn’t admit it out loud, was her “best” friend, Lydia. That was a whole different story, though. Add her into the mix that was happening right now and it would be a gong show for sure- an amusing one, that is, for all but Brent in the end. Ellery was known for making the end result in situations like this mayhem to begin with, so the ending for the half-vampire was sure to be entertainment for all but him anyways, no matter who was involved really.

And through the rising and falling apart, We discover who we are brent blinked away the pressure that the sun gave him. it didn't bother him as in made him explode as most thought that happened to vampires or vampire decendants but just made him feel like he was almost out of place really. he didn't like the sun and he wished sometimes that it would just be dark all the time, dark time was fun time for that boy. however was little hope was always on his mind that he might actually enjoy the light some day, or at least when he married who he was supposed to be with, if she wasn't of vampire decent then she would actually want to go outside and he wouldn't and he'd miss out on so many things with her, and he'd miss her. the thought made his stomach turn a little. but hope was still in his mind that maybe who ever he ended up would like the indoors just as much as he hated the out doors. of course with the hope of something came the obvious thought of his best friend hope. he still didn't understand how the funny hufflepuff hadn't had a boyfriend in all the years he'd known her which had been since the start of their hogwarts life. that had been almost ten years ago, ten years in which there had been no boyfriend at all, and honestly it didn't add up for brent. she was a pretty girl, and she was funny and she was perfect plus she didn't sleep around, she wasn't a whore. why wasn't she getting boys lined up at her door? brent shook his head, almost throughly convincing himself that he wanted no guys to line up at her door. that was impossible, hope was his best friend and nothing more. nothing more.
there was a few voices in brent's mind telling him that ellery was bi polar and he wasn't joking. one second the girl seemed to hate him more than life in it self but the other second she was sweet and she actually wanted to go out with him. brent was throughly confused. he raised an eyebrow at her first statement one again getting that urge to want to run and hide away from her and into the woods into the beyond and never come out. damn she was scary, and he was the half vampire. however he wasn't sure what was scarier the sweet voice that she put on right afterwards or the scary voice that had been going on right before. both of them were rather scary but honestly brent was getting chills. damn this girl was weird. but she was hot. "gee i was thinking maybe a dinner or something, nothing too big, more selucted," year didn't girls like that stuff? when they weren't in big crowds and they were in little crowds with their boyfriends and they were being romantic? or some of that bull shit? "maybe a midnight walk in the park afterwards or something," okay now he was sounding more gay than romantic he was damn sure of it. he didn't care though honestly he just really wanted a chance to go out with ellery, she would take his mind off of those thoughts of hope, he just knew it. she had to. someone as pretty and with as much influencial blood as ellery's just had to. "oh come on ellery, what do you say, bet you never been out with a half vampire before... there's a first time for everything," he smiled a little he could feel his fangs wanting to come out but he'd just fed, he was fine for a while. ellery really was pretty, he just hoped he didn't scary her off with the whole half vampire thing.[/div] tag ellery, picture to caution, lol fangs

Ellery twitched. Brent wanted to.. be alone? Together? Ew. That was all she word could think of at this point. The only way she would have done that would have been if it was on a mountain in some beautiful place around the world. Hello- they could apperate, why settle for the part of England they were in? To the Harper girl it was a complete shithole. She had seen much better, and for once she wasn’t thinking about when she looked in the mirror at her own reflection. ”You want to stay away from the public? You are clearly asking me out because I’m stunningly drop-dead gorgeous and not for my personality, and what’s within.” she told him right off the bat, hand on hip, bringing out some cheesy line she had heard Celeste complaining to their mum that no guy looked for in her. “it was always about the looks” Celeste had whined. Ellery could never understand. They were born beautiful- what was there to complain about? Ellery was going to have a little fun, play with his head, and make him feel bad. Ellery was going to go on this date with him still however. The Slytherin girl had to make Jacen jealous- or at least try. The games they played back and forth most likely would never stop. Whether she would admit it or not, it was their own personal way of flirting that was unique in the way that they could pass it off as doing exactly the opposite. People looking in from the outside would think that they were insane if they did consider it as flirting. The two of them could get quite harsh to one another. Ellery wasn’t a fool though, and always knew how to defend herself back to whatever he did to her, even if it wasn’t as tough and bitchy as a majority of her remarks to people were on a daily basis. Also, she could care less whether people looked at her and asked her out because of her looks. She was vain- she loved that they did this. Her confidence could never be boosted enough, no matter how much she was over the limit any average-confidence filled person had. ”But that’s okay.” the girl continued after a long, agonizing pause for him. At least that was what she assumed judging from the stare she had been giving him the entire time. ”I don’t blame you.” she took this time to put on a little smile, this time not a fake one, as she didn’t blame him. ”Because look at me.” she laughed, gesturing at herself. To go back to the sweet act she had going on, she continued. ”I just.. I just thought you’d want to show me off. That’s all.” putting her hand on her other arm, she hung her head. Damn she was good! Although she had to admit the midnight walk wasn’t that bad of an idea, she didn’t truly want to get intimate with him so she looked at it as more towards the fact that he was a freak (aka half-vampire) and loved the night than trying to be romantic for her. Ellery thought romance was complete bullshit. Who really did that stuff? She knew full well that guys wanted boobs in their face and that was all. They were all assholes, or else they were too insecure to even want to do anything with their penis. Those were the guys she had fun making feel small and wide-eyed. The fact that she was a virgin didn’t bother her, as she had fun acting like a slut and having girls hate her when in reality, they hated her for not even doing anything! It was perfect. Ellery truly had a switchblade attitude with a sugarcoated smile. "oh come on ellery, what do you say, bet you never been out with a half vampire before... there's a first time for everything," Trying to avoid twitching again, she was able to hold it in this time around. Once again, ‘ew’ was pretty much the only thing that came to her head. Though this time it was it wasn’t the only because ‘ick’ joined in. There was a reason as to why she hadn’t been on a date with a vampire, or even half-vampire for that matter. She hated them. She was supposed to be the only ‘different’ one around, and then vampires and werewolves had to come to exist. It just wasn’t right in her mind. She was prejudice against them, though right now she was going to keep that to herself- clearly. Not many people knew this about her, Jacen included, which was why her plan actually had initiative to work out. If she hadn’t thought it out right and saw even the slightest possibility, it wouldn’t have been considered and she would have banished him with a wave of her hand like she did to every single one of her servants back home. They were no real use to her, really. People who could be replaced had no meaning in her life, as their presence didn’t make a difference if someone else could do what they did. That was why Ellery considered herself one of a kind. In her eyes, no one could do what she did. She was special, no matter what was in question. ”And I’m sure you haven’t been out with a half-veela.” she replied, covering up the complete bitchy way she had meant it to be. Because really- she was sure. tagged • brent c. d'eath word count • 924 tunes • can i have this dance - HSM LOL notes • if he brought out his fangs, i can't even imagine what she'd do.. lmao credit • caution for banner
