[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image:url(http://i56.tinypic.com/2zgu9hc.jpg); width: 440px; padding-top:10px;]your boldness stands alone --- it was strange how things could come to be. it was odd for aralynn that she had so easily put two and two together when she had hardly the grounds to suspect anything. it was curious to aralynn as well that he had no idea she knew, or apparently no grounds for suspecting that anyone had known anything. but then again, how could they not? it was so obvious. or was it just obvious for aralynn? a student who had conveniently stumbled upon one too many incidents to have put the pieces of the puzzle together. and it wasn't like it was that hard of a puzzle to put together, but somehow she had hardly made a guess this is where her evening was going to turn out.
in fact, it had started yesterday. yesterday when she had been sitting in potions class, waiting for class to start. normally there were a few strays, or perhaps the odd one to not show up, but today was different. today they were going over review for a test, and almost everyone in the room was there. everyone, aralynn noted, except christian. christian was a student that aralynn had met in her years at hogwarts. he was the same age and year as she was, and of course, being in slytherin and gryffindor, the two of them rarely saw eye to eye. he was in some of her classes and they had thrown threats and curses to one another on several occasions. they had also battled it out on the quiddich pitch. but there was something that aralynn knew about christian, attending classes with him for almost ten years, was that he hardly ever missed class. he was too good for that. especially when one class concerned his career, and they had a test the next day. he wasn't stupid, as much as aralynn liked to think he was. she had to give him some credit. she gave everyone a certain degree of credit for just showing up and extending their education at a university level. it was odd, aralynn had jotted down in the banks of her mind, but she had continued on with class, not really thinking or wasting too much of her time over it.
but the time had come for their test, and there christian was, seated up and over in front of her, and looking slightly under the weather. as aralynn noted, he tried to keep his head down, concentrating on the work, she guessed most people would have just assumed. but aralynn noticed something. he kept looking over his shoulder, as if on edge. the test alone wouldn't have done that to him. she peered at him, trying to take in more than she would have liked of him, and noticed a rather large cut going across the upright of his forehead and down to his cheek. that was strange, she thought. what was he trying to hide? she only took a few moments to observe the strangeness of character in christian before getting back into her test. sorry for his luck, but potions came way before concern over some former gryffindor. though she did notice that when class was over, he seemed to rush out of the room, keeping his head down. all strange. but still, aralynn didn't have that much of a care to really keep it in the front of her mind.
that was until tonight hit. it was after dark, and aralynn had been working late on some assignments for potions. it was her major after all, and she loved potions and therefore wanted to get a head start on the next day. the test was now over and therefore she was able to have a clear head heading into the next unit of study. but hate potions weren't exactly as easily studied and practice. and because aralynn wanted to get started, she had taking it to herself to go and practice in the classroom. she had nearly made it to the classroom without bringing any attention to herself, and was ready to get right into work when she heard something coming from inside the classroom. noise. was it possibly a student or the professor? aralynn hid herself outside the door, placing her ear close to hear the noise that was coming inside. it sounded like a student. a male student. his voice was hard to make out, and then she could hear him, mumbling to himself or something. christian. perhaps he was making a potion? but a potion for what? aralynn tried to listen closely as he spoke and mixed ingredients. from the sounds of what she was able to make out, it was almost as if he was making a potion to heal himself. heal himself why? was it his cuts that she had seen in class? or were there more. aralynn brought her attention back out towards the hallway and noticed a stream of light pouring in. the moon. and as she looked closely, pulling her attention away from whatever was happening in the classroom. the moon was nearly full. that meant, a couple nights ago would have been a full moon. a full moon and a missing student. a missing student and a scar or multiple scars that aralynn couldn't see. christian. werewolf.
aralynn clasped her hand over her mouth. oh my. aralynn's mind raced. what would she do with this information. information that was this big. she took a few breaths and a smirk came to her face. this was good. this was very good. she had dirt on christian, and solid dirt. and she wasn't able to let him go not knowing about it. she quietly opened the door to the classroom, staring at christian as she took a few steps in. "someone have something they'd like to share with the class?"

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style,background-image: url('http://i53.tinypic.com/wb98wn.jpg');,true] I BECOME ALIVE !
This was not a good week for Christian Kirke. In fact, it was probably one of the worst weeks ever, definitely the worst since arriving at the University. Day to day Christian was battling with who he had become, or rather what he had become, since that fateful summer. Most days and nights were fine as it was simply a matter of what phase the moon was in. Still, he felt as if he had to restrain himself, keep his activity on the downside. His worst fear would be something happening and it being blamed on the fact that he was a werewolf. People probably got sent to Azkaban for those kind of things! So that was why even more important than keeping a low profile it was more important to make sure no one ever found out about him being a half-breed. At least no-one outside of those he willing wanted to know. The fact that this had almost been jeopardized a few nights ago was only the start of why it was a bad week, but definitely one of the contributing factors. It all started when Christian had run out of his necessary potions. Normally this wasn’t a big deal but when his attempts to receive more viles began to fail, he grew more worried. First it began with not being able to get into the Potions classroom. Sure he could attempt it in his room but a closed classroom just felt more safe; not to mention it was better suited with the materials. Then it continued with the Potions teacher being seemingly unavailable as if he was avoiding Christian just to torment him. At least that’s what it felt like. One night he was on detention shifts, the other he couldn’t be found, and at one point he just waved Christian off. The added fact that this was a study week for tests, including potions, didn’t help his case.
So as the full moon date neared Christian prepared the only way he could. That day he made himself a backpack of supplies he would need for after the transformation. When he was younger he had always contemplated having someone tie him down but that wouldn’t work he had soon realized. Now that he was older and stronger, it certainly wouldn’t work. So instead he made his way out to the woods, saying silent prayers to any higher power that no student would be outside tonight. When he came to the next morning he found that everything seemed to be fine, there was blood on him but he soon realized that was his own. A cut across his forehead was something he would gladly take over a dead body next to him. Though the event wasn’t as traumatizing as before, it was definitely something that still caused him to withdraw for a bit. He still went to his classes, took his tests and carried on but afterwards he would go straight to his room. Now he needed to make a new set of potions for himself to make sure this didn’t happen again and try to cover the wound so it didn’t leave a scar. So tonight he found himself, finally, in an open classroom with all the tools necessary. The hour was late but Christian often found himself wondering the castle at this time so it was nothing new for the Gryffindor. As he began mixing the ingredients Christian heard the most-silent movement of a door opening a millisecond before the voice reached his ears. Immediately his body reacted, dropping the spoon into the open cauldron as he turned around to see her. The expression one as if he was just caught breaking into the headmaster’s office.
The light from the now open doorway illuminated the room slightly, enough for him to make out who was now standing before him. “Aralynn” he practically breathed out, trying to keep the quiver out of his voice. Christian was a Gryffindor but he certainly didn’t feel courageous right now. he felt as if the walls were closing in around him. He and the slytherin before him didn’t see eye to eye since he had first met her at Hogwarts. However, having had a few classes with her Christian was painfully aware that she was as close to brilliant as it got. This was bad for him because it meant that any pitiful excuse that might work on any other stranger would be less likely to work now. Still, it was all he had. “What are you doing up?” it was the classic ‘turn the shoe on the other foot accusation’. Pausing for a moment he tried to recollect himself, turning around to pick up the dropped spoon and placing it on the table. Taking a deep breath, he tried to steady his appearance though something told him he still looked like a deer caught in the headlights. “I have nothing to tell you or any class. I was just working on a last minute project” he swore mentally when he remembered that she was in his class. “You know…for missing class that day. I had to make it up..” Christian was a horrible liar but to his credit he tried to keep her gaze. He found that Aralynn’s eyes were bright, brown, and seemed to be able to see, not only through his lie, but right through him. Considering their relationship the feeling was discomforting to say the least.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image:url(http://i56.tinypic.com/2zgu9hc.jpg); width: 440px; padding-top:10px;]your boldness stands alone --- the moment aralynn's presence became known to christian, he turned around, like a deer caught in headlights, and aralynn couldn't do anything but smirk at him. she had caught him with his pants down so to speak, and he gazed at her as if he had been caught stealing and had no way of recovering. it was a classic move on aralynn's part to surprise him in the way that she did, but she didn't regret it. instead, she relished in it and his discomfort taking a couple steps closer into the room as he spoke to her, asking her what she was doing up at this time of night. a small laugh escaped her lips as she watched him ducked down to pick up the spoon that he had lost during her initial greeting. "what am i doing up? what are you doing up?" she took a couple steps closer to christian, making him even more uncomfortable with her presence. "i'm here because i wanted to get a head start on next weeks assignment - hate potions. after all, this is what i'm majoring in, so i quite like to get a head start. unlike somebody..." her voice trailed off and she smirked at him once more.
she listened to his useless prattle about not needing to share anything with the class. of course aralynn's statement was one of rhetoric and nothing more, but he didn't seem to want to play that way. of course not. he was panicking, like anyone in his position would. if aralynn was in his position she would sure be panicking, but she liked to think she would be able to control herself a little better than he was now, or be able to lie and manipulate her way out of the situation in whatever means possible. but christian wasn't aralynn, and aralynn thought far too highly of herself to even put the two close together in comparison. as he spewed out more nonsense, aralynn shook her head in disagreement. "last minute project? oh i doubt that. the class you missed was merely review. one could only assume that the punishment for missing class would be the failing mark on the test, or unpreparedness going into it." aralynn was smarter than that, and she almost resented christian for thinking she was so stupid to just hang off of his every word and assume that he was in here for extra credit. if she didn't know christian and the situation she was in, she doubted she would have even believed him then. the professors at the university weren't that nice. especially not on test days.
aralynn narrowed her eyes on christian as he looked at her uncomfortable and clearly bothered by her proximity to him. she took a step back, now circling the desk that christian was working on and allowing her hand to trace and dance along the edges and surface of the desk. "you want to know what i think? i think you're in here trying to make a potion for something that has to do with you missing class, yes, but also has to do with that big scratch down the side of your face, and the full moon that happened only a couple nights ago." she was now closer to christian than she thought she had ever been in her life. and not that disgust was something on her mind. no, she was thinking of intimidation and how this secret she now had on him was going to affect him. and she wanted to see the hairs on his neck stand up as her voice breathed across them. he was a lot taller than she was, but that didn't stop her as she reached to behind where the gryffindor stood. "i think christian kirke, that you have a secret. a secret that no one knows. until now. i know your secret. you're a werewolf."
it was a great feeling to aralynn that she had the power and the control in the room. she loved power and control and yearned for it. and when it was placed oh so gently and lovely into the palms of her hands she couldn't help but get excited. she watched christian as she confessed what she knew, entranced by the way this was going to affect him and the way it was going to hit him like a pound of bricks. someone other than himself knew his secret, and it wasn't someone whom christian necessarily could trust. well, he couldn't. at least, if aralynn was him, she wouldn't. they were opposites, enemies, and that's what made this all too great and laughable to aralynn. a slytherin knew a gryffindor's most prized secret and there was nothing that he could do to make her forget. she was too intelligent and too strong. there was nothing christian could do. she had him in a corner, and there was no where left for him to go but turn around and face her like a man. but it was curious. what was he going to do?

For someone who was not only a Gryffindor, who were supposed to be the most courageous, but could also transform into a monstrous creature Christian had never felt more fear in his life then right now. As Aralynn stared him down, he knew that there was no way he could get out of here with his secret still intact. The smirk on her face told him everything, and the laugh that escaped only rubbed it in. Honestly, he wouldn’t have been so worried if it was a friendly hufflepuff or a fellow ravenclaw that discovered him here. They would at least be understanding and hopefully merciful. If not he could always try to threaten them. Christian had an imposing physique even if his personality didn’t match it. “Yes well…how do you know I’m not doing the same?” he retorted to her smooth answer. Unfortunately for him he should have anticipated that she’d see right through his fable. Despite what they liked to believe, not all Slytherin’s were simple minded muscle heads. From having classes with Aralynn he knew that she was smarter than the average snake. And if he needed any proof the way she dissected his lie as if she was looking through a glass panel was all the evidence needed.
The closer she grew, the tenser his body became. His muscles tightened as his eyes watched her circle around him. Closing his eyes he tried to ignore her words, ignore the fact that he had been dumb enough to let her find out what he was. Or rather, what sickness he had. “Aralynn…” his voice came out, hoping he could at least stop her from saying it out loud. He should have known better than to expect mercy from a slytherin though. you're a werewolf. When she finally spoke the words it was like a brick smashing onto his head. His first, practically natural reaction, was to deny it, as futile as it was. “I don’t know what you’re talking about” turning to face her, he had to resist appearing startled by how close she was. Aiden always said the key to a good lie was being able to hold eye contact, so that was what Christian did. or rather, what he tried to do. “I..don’t know what they give you in slytherin but” he glanced away. “I’m definitely not a werewolf. I just got hurt” Remaining silent afterwards, he knew his excuse and attempt at lying was practically laughable. In fact he wouldn’t be surprised if she did, though he hoped she didn’t. It would only further bury him in a situation where he was trying to climb out. Moving away from her and towards his potion, he needed space. Something about her presence just through him off completely; the combination of beauty and evil added with the knowledge she now had didn’t exactly settle him.
Fiddling with the supplies on the table, he tried to occupy himself as he thought of a better way to deal with this. Aiden was always good at intimidating people and though Christian certainly was a large man he could hardly intimidate a freshmen, let alone a confident and bold Aralynn. “Listen…” he started as he placed his vile down on the table. “I don’t know what you want from me or what you want to gain” turning he looked over at her, moving back to his previous position. The expression he held was stern, his brow furrowed as he approached her. “You can’t tell anyone” what happened next even surprised himself a bit as his hands came up and grasped either side of her arms. “I know you don’t care about anyone else but this is my life...” he brought his face closer to hers. His expression was unchanging though his words were a bit softer. Part of him was hoping it just scared her out of any thoughts she was having, but another side was being sincere. Christian hoped, as foolish as it may seem, that Aralynn would understand. That she wouldn’t go run to the slytherin common room and tell everyone. Or worse, that she would try and blackmail him with the information. Looking into her eyes he couldn’t read a reaction but he only hoped it was positive. As much as he wanted to say ‘I can’t let you walk out of here’ Christian was far from being that intimidating.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image:url(http://i56.tinypic.com/2zgu9hc.jpg); width: 440px; padding-top:10px;]your boldness stands alone --- aralynn knew she probably shouldn't be enjoying herself as much as she was, but it was too funny to see other people, especially those that she didn't like squirm. she loved making people uncomfortable, and christian was every little inch uncomfortable in her presence right now. if she could have measured the comfort level in the room it would probably range somewhere below a hundred. but her comfort level was just fine. in fact, she felt more than at home intimidating and coming at christian with a level of intellect and cunning that he probably hadn't witnessed so close at hand before. but his discomfort only fueled her even farther. she knew he was scared. she knew she had just stumbled onto the biggest secret of his life and now he knew that she knew and there was no turning back, for either of them. now she just had to figure out what on earth she wanted to do with this.
she was amused by the fact that he tried so hard and so many different ways to sway her from the truth. she stared at him, wondering if he honestly thought he was getting away with this. her eyes were dark and cold and in the night light of the room she was sure they probably appeared black. hopefully giving the illusion to him she could see right through him. when he tried to tell her he was working on the assignment, and then scrambling to say he was merely working on a potion because he got hurt, she couldn't help but laugh. "what kind of idiot do you take me for?" she mocked him, looking sternly at him. "if you think i'm that dumb to believe one of the pathetic lies spouting from your lips you have highly underestimated me, and quite frankly, i overestimated your intelligence. i know christian, and there's nothing you can do about it. i know what you are and what you're doing here tonight and you can't scare me off, or convince me of what is blatantly in front of my eyes. you're not a good liar christian," she spoke continuing the eye contact with him to give her speech even more power. she was too smart for this, and she knew he was aware of that as well. though a small part of her thought it was commendable to try and persuade her elsewhere, another part of her thought it was such a foolish gryffindor trait to try and worm your way out of something and stand your ground instead of just giving in when there was no where else to go. she had cornered him, and she had the power of their situation and it was about time that he bowed down to her and acknowledged her superiority.
finally, he did just that. he gave her credit. though, with minimum standards. "listen… i don’t know what you want from me or what you want to gain... you can’t tell anyone. i know you don’t care about anyone else but this is my life..." aralynn muffled a snort. his life? what did that matter to her? and though she knew he thought a lot worse of her than what she was, and she did care about others, she hadn't really decided what to do about the information that she knew. he was looking at her so pleadingly that she almost felt bad. but at the same time, the pathetic tone that came off wanted aralynn to shoot the puppy and put him out of his misery. but aralynn usually did enjoy putting enemies, especially gryffindors through the misery. but what good would she get out of any of this if she told on him? nothing. aralynn's mind weighed her options as he spoke. what did she want from him? nothing really. this was just something she had stumbled on. she hadn't gone out looking for something on him. it was all a chance of fate, and not one in his favor she might add. she didn't really have anything to gain either. what was this knowledge going to do now to christian? again, nothing. so perhaps aralynn could just hold this knowledge and hold this power over him until she figured out what to do with it and with him. this really wasn't something she had any use of right now. and right now was the key word.
"alright christian, i won't tell anyone. your secret can remain a secret. besides, what gain would i have over telling anyone?" she looked at him and smirked. "if everyone else knew, i wouldn't have the power and control over you that now i do. oh stop it christian. i can almost see you physically shaking from over here. i'm not going to tell. and you can either take that and trust what little you can in me and believe i won't say a word, or you can go on being paranoid. your choice. but i'd say you're already jumpy enough without this to worry you as well." aralynn let out a small laugh. this was it. she was actually telling christian to have a little bit of faith in her and trust her. though perhaps it wasn't the most convincing argument and that if at some point she needed to use it she could, she wasn't about to rat on him any time soon. she had nothing to gain from it, and she had nothing really against christian apart from the fact that he was a gryffindor and the two had never seen eye to eye. and when aralynn told him that he needed and could trust her, she was honestly telling the truth. she would keep his secret.
