Her dorm was as it always had been since she was eleven years old- a place for her to sleep and hang her theoretical hat, seeing as she didn't really have any real hats to hang. The music suite of the university was her safe haven. she loved it in there. And anyway, the people in there understood her. But one place in particular, in one position was the most at home adele ever felt when she was in school. The piano on stage-or sometimes in the wings of the stage-of the auditorium was an absolutely beautiful instrument. Adele could spend hours in front of it, until her wrists felt like falling off. She loved that thing, and tended to pour her heart out in front of it. It was the easiest way for her to get her feelings across in any way about anything. She loved playing any song she knew in the slightest. Whether it be something as old as a bob dylan song that the artist she was names for (ADELE) covered, or something by a newer artist-she didn't care. She just loved to play. She found herself absolutely in love with playing songs she started to write on her own. The musical training she was getting in school was semi helpful to her, if only enough to teach her different chord structures and the technicalities of writing. But no amount of musical training could prepare her for the raw emotion it took out of her, writing these songs. And it couldn't make her get over the intense sickness she felt at the idea of sharing her songs with someone else. She understood that most famous artists wrote or co-wrote their own songs, then performed them. But adele couldn't even imagine it. Those songs had her heart and soul in them. If anyone were to hear them, they would have access to her innermost feelings- things she barely even told her sisters, or Leila, things she didn't even want to admit to herself. There was one song in particular that almost made her cry every time she played it. If there was any song that stripped her emotions down to the bone, it was that one. But it felt nice to play it. The melody was complex, and it fit her voice. The piano part was absolutely lovely.
But the beauty of the music didn't make it any less painful to sing or play. She could sing them to the entire auditorium-as long as it was empty. When someone walked in, whether it be the janitor, a professor or another student, adele stopped cold. Most of them always said that she shouldn't have stopped, that her playing was good, and her voice was just as good. But that didn't stop her from stopping. There were some that told her to keep playing, telling her it was good to listen to. But most of the time, she nodded slightly, blushed, and either waited for them to leave, or left herself. It was like the human contact with the person was hurting her- causing physical pain for her. In public, in normal situations, adele was just fine. She wasn't the most outgoing of people, but she had a bubbly personality once you got past her shell, but when it came to her music, ask her to do anything in public, and she froze. It was a sad fact. There wasn't much she could blame it on, other than sheer cowardice. Her life had not been easy, it was true, but it was not tragic. she had an absent father - it was true, but who's wasn't these days. She and her sister grew up with a single mother, but she had Evie and Evie's mother to help with everything. If they weren't already related by the same absent father, you could say they were like family. And it wasn't as if she had been abused in any way. But like every other young girl, she has her heart broken, and had yet to get over it, or reopen herself to the idea of love. Her last and only relationship ended with her losing her virginity and the boy she swore she was in love with. Ha. Love. He told her so many times that he loved her, that she was the only one. He promised her that when they were together in that way, that it wouldn't change anything. Making love to her would only make the two of then stronger, bring them closer. But he lied. Despite the fact that they were together all the time, and that she never said no when he wanted to, she was still not good enough for him. He ended things with her almost a week after she said yes the first time. For the rest of that year, adele was closed off and kept to herself. Boys became nothing more than a distraction for her, love a vague idea that had no merit.
That was until this year- just a few weeks previous, to be exact. No one ever expected the ravenclaw ice queen to ever thaw, especially not for a guy. Especially not for a guy like mason aesalon. He was exactly the kind she was supposed to stay away from, the kind that would break her heart into pieces. He was a well known manwhore around school, one that more or less slept with a girl and left her later. He didn't do relationships either. He had been hurt by someone, the same way adele had been. But he moved on in a different way then she did. On a norm day, under normal circumstances, adele would never have even talked to him. But in the course of a night spent with too much alcohol and an overwhelming need to be wanted, thing changed completely. The two went back to his place, adele a little too tipsy to function correctly, and the next morning, woke up in each other's arms. This didn't happen to her. She hadn't been with a guy since she was sixteen years old. She didn't know how to deal with it. Wasn't she supposed to have left? She should have... but there was a part of her that felt nice, being pulled against him. It was a good feeling, waking up with someone else there. That was how it started. Three weeks later, the most unpredictable couple was still going strong. He was a sweetheart on so many levels, and he was sweet to her. He understood her heartbreak, having something else happen to him. She couldn't imagine what it would feel like to lose someone to one of her sisters, much less a twin. But they didn't dwell on the past. She admired that. Still, she liked being alone once in a while. She liked playing in the auditorium. She was playing another song by her namesake when she heard the doors open. She pretended not to hear them, but lowered her voice none the less. It wasn't until she felt a pair of arms wrap around her shoulders that she stopped. She leaned back against the strong chest she had grown so used to. Mason. She smiled and pulled her hands from the keys and closed her eyes. "seems as though you've found me." she said, turning slightly toward him. Even if he had heard her play, it didn't matter. He was here, and that was all that did. redoing her template. leave me alone. |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style,background-image: url('http://i53.tinypic.com/wb98wn.jpg');,true] I WANT TO BE THE ONE!
Waking up to the feeling of skin on skin wasn’t an unfamiliar sensation to the Gryffindor. It was going too far to say that every morning he had it coming for him, but it was quite often. The only was Mason Aesalon had ever coped after having his heart broken was by having sex, and a lot of it. People could say what they wanted about him. He did what he did, that was the end of it. Mason had his standards and lines drawn out. There were many “man whores” like himself out there who went for any girl, vulnerable or not. He wasn’t like that and never would be. The only girls he went for were the ones who wanted no strings attached, just like him. No part of him wanted to hurt someone or lead them on like he had been, at all. It sucked to feel the emotions he had felt. Why would he ever put that onto someone else’s shoulders? The saying was taught at a young age: treat people how you want to be treated. And frankly, he didn’t want to be treated poorly. That didn’t go to say he treated everyone like they were his best friend, for the most part he did his best to not be a complete douche bag though. Spotting the brunette in bed with him, he smiled. She was absolutely beautiful. The two had been drinking the night before, talking it up and then finally, going back to his place. At first, there had been no further intentions in his mind than just to get her naked and explore the unknown. He later found out that she was a Ravenclaw who majored in music. Ever since Daphne had rejected him, he hadn’t thought about going out with any girl. That’s why he had sex with random girls whenever he pleased! Daphne was the reason they had ended up beside each other the next morning. Nevertheless, she had changed him. He trusted her with the reason he was ‘how he was’ and let go- something he hadn’t done in.. well, forever. Bentley wasn’t even aware of the fact that he had hurt his twin because of Daphne. That is, not at Mason’s hands of pointing it out. After this one night, Mason Aesalon took a change. Something happened that he hadn’t even expected; she became his girlfriend, the first girlfriend since he had his heart tampered with.
That was three weeks ago to the day. Mason wasn’t sure how he felt about having a girlfriend at first. He knew that he had felt something, but it was so weird changing his routine. He would never be a cheater that much was already determined long before now. When Daphne had changed his perspective on love, he had vowed to never get emotionally involved with a girl again. This method would therefore protect him from ever getting hurt. No matter how unrealistic it was, he had managed to stick by it for quite some time. Something about Adele changed his mind and allowed himself to let her in, take a chance for the first time. He may be a Gryffindor but when it came to his heart, he never had proven he had many balls. Until now. Mason planned on treating her like a princess, how a girl deserved to be treated, in his mind, by their loved one. She made him smile and vice versa. It was all so surreal and hard to believe but it was really happening, this was no dream and he was glad for that. Waking up, Mason stretched his tanned arms into the air, releasing a loud awn as he did so. Stretching his arms both ways, he twisted his torso to let any kinks that had developed from his nap out. Shedding the covers off of him, he stood up in his boxers and grabbed a towel, planning for a shower. The Gryffindor didn’t live back at the dorms with all of the other boys; he had his own place where just three weeks ago, the magic had begun. Smiling at the thought, he shed the last bit of clothing he wore and twisted the knobs to turn on the water. Stepping into it, he watched as steam filled the bathroom. Thoroughly cleaning himself, he got out ten minutes later, grabbing the nearest towel. One thing that he always had dreaded every time he took a shower was walking out of the door after one. The cold rush of air that met you was like his enemy. He hated it. The warm, steam-filled air was his preference. The boy hated winter, so why would he like the sudden change in temperature? Wrapping the towel around his waist, he walked out and fast walked over to his bedroom, tempted to go right back into his bed and under the covers. Deciding that there was no fun in that without Adele with him, he dressed himself and headed out the doors, already aware that he was on a mission to find where ever she was on campus.
The most obvious thing about his girlfriend was that she loved music. Music was her number one thing around her- some days he thought if she had to choose between him and music, it wouldn’t be him. He had fun teasing her about it, even if he questioned what the choice would be. It wasn’t like the choice would actually happen. While Adele’s major was music, Mason had a completely different direction he was trying to take his life. The boy’s major was business, and he had plans to open up his own business. He had yet to decide whether in the muggle world or not, he doubted it would be though. He couldn’t see himself working for people, as the pretty boy preferred to have control over his own life. The unknown wasn’t his thing at all. Walking through the field, he kept his eyes open for a head of cute brown curls. A few girls with curly brown hair were around, though he knew it wasn’t his girlfriend because of the fact that they weren’t cute, even from the behind. Adele was, no matter what angle you looked at her from. Passing the cafeteria, he didn’t know why he was looking through all of the places he had already gone too. He had already thought of Adele’s love for music- and he knew her favorite thing was the piano, therefore his direction changed automatically, heading towards the auditorium. Mason liked music and all; however it wasn’t his ‘thing.’ Despite this, he could even tell that the piano in there was the high quality and beautiful. Opening the door quietly, sure enough the melody of a song floated up towards him. Staying quiet, he leaned against the door for a minute, admiring from a distance. The rows of chairs in his peripheral vision didn’t register. All his eyes were taking his was her, his ears listening to what she was creating by moving her fingers across the long, white keys. Slowly making his way down the stairs towards her, when he made it there he wrapped his arms around her, gently pulling her close to him. Planting a kiss on the top of her head, he smiled. ”That was beautiful. Although I can’t say it even compares to you.”
|
[/b] he whispered, leaning down to whisper in her ear, kissing her neck next. Moving his head back up now so that she could nuzzle her head into his chest, his eyebrows rose. ”Were you hiding from me?”[/b] a chuckle escaped his lips. If she had been, she had done a very poor job. [/div] 1295 WORDS , ADELE , listening to DISIPLE , MY MOJO NEEDS TO COME BACK TO ME! mason was her downfall. if he wasn't already, he surely would be. he was everything she fell for before. charm, looks, an absolutely amazing kisser, killer in bed; though the last two were hardly pertinent. they were just... perks. it was far too easy with him. it slightly scared her. but she wanted to enjoy it, to enjoy him while they lasted. by no means was she under the school girl impression that she and mason were meant to be, and that they would live happily ever after. she wasn't an ickle first year, after all. she was twenty years old for merlin's sake. she knew that what she and nason had was temporary, and would eventually run its course when her beauty became commonplace, and the excitement died down. and surely, mason's effect on her would wear off, and his eyes would cease to make her knees weak. the kisses would stop being as sweet, and night spent together would begin to seem like a chore. passion would die, magic would leave, and their ardor would cool, and the relationship would be put under strain. they would begin to resent each other. she was sure of it... but adele did not want to expect it. a part of her wanted to put it all aside and believe in the magic...just one last time. despite that all of that was sure to happen eventually, it wasn't happening just yet, and for now, she wanted nothing more then to enjoy their time in a blissfully ignorant state. every kiss still sent a shiver through her. every touch made her hair stand on end. every look sent her knees buckling. he still had a power over her. and all she could do was enjoy it. but she knew it would end. it had to. they weren't going to get married. it couldn't happen. she didn't want it to happen.
but the sweetness of a short living relationship seemed to make it that much more exciting. not knowing if last night would be their last, or this was the last kiss they would share kept the relationship going. it kept them both interested, or at least adele interested. there was always a fear in her, not knowing when things would end. it kept her on her toes, but it kept a pit in her stomach always churning. she was aware there were other pretty girls in mason's life, ones that were more interesting, ones that he could so very easily take him away from her. but those girls didn't matter. he was with her, in the auditorium, listening to her song. that meant a lot to her, despite her self-consciousness about her music- about her everything, really. she smiled softly as he kissed the top of her head, still not used to the feeling of affection like that quite yet. still, it was a good kind of uncertainty that she felt around him still. she let a small giggle slip from her lips. it was an extremely cliched line, but it was adorable none the less, and it still made her smile. her eyes closed as he planted a kiss on her neck, loving the feeling of his lips. he seemed to know how to make her smile now, and this was one of the ways. she loved the closeness between them, despite her uncertainty. "of course i wasn't hiding. at least, not from you. maybe from the rest of the world, but never you." she said, smiling and turning toward him, at the same time making room for him on the piano bench. "how are you, love? i hope you weren't missing me too much." she said, reaching for his hand and twisting their fingers together. it wasn't an act that would be considered clingy- it wasn't possessive. it was just comforting. finally <3. |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style,background-image: url('http://i53.tinypic.com/wb98wn.jpg');,true] I WANT TO BE THE ONE!
although he had never admitted it out loud to his brother, the main thing he was jealous of was the artistic skills he somehow obtained naturally growing up. mason hadn't been so lucky. the situation didn't seem so unfortunate, and he was sure that if someone else was aware, they wouldn't be able to understand why this was a dilemma for him. in all honesty, mason wouldn't have to think hard to explain it to them. instead, he'd have brought them here to the auditorium to see his girlfriend play. Bentley may have been more into art and drawing, but music was a form of art and any sort of art were things mason couldn't relate to his girlfriend on. he only tried his best and constantly, inside he worried trying wasn't enough. quite frankly, Adele's life revolved around music. he wanted to be a part of that world Adele could revolve around and escape too. it was comforting to him when his girlfriend could find peace in him being around. the Gryffindor boy did have belief that they could last. no girl had made him feel the way she did since the one who had broken his heart, choosing his brother over him- which, in all honesty, he wasn`t sure to this day why Adele hadn`t done the same. they knew of one another, and had more in common when it came to hobbies they were passionate about. sighing, he put that out of his mind. the fact that she was the first girl he had been with since the heartbreak was difficult. he didn`t want to be with a girl who was going to break his heart, and he didn`t want to be a heartbreaker. he had it done to him and never would he `pay it forward.` even if it was a bad example, Mason truly would prefer to pay it forward with syphilis (not that he has it, because he doesn`t) than a heart torn into two. if he didn`t think he could potentially have a future with her, it simply would have stayed at sex. if he knew she felt it wasn`t going to last for sure, he wouldn`t be around anymore either. the brunette couldn`t handle temporary on purpose. it was like mangling around with his heart, as the longer he was in it, the harder it would be when out of it. Mason always did seem to jump back into a ``healthy`` enough solution to stay what seemed like un-phased; anyone who knew him knew that he had only become a player because of his broken heart and that to this day, it affected him through and through.
having his hands around her, he felt like he was where he should be. not just because he was with her, but because he was allowing someone in, moving on with his life in a way that wasn`t sleeping around. his brother would surely be proud of him- that was, if they even talked anymore. it had been quite some time since Mason had spoken with his brother. well, at least without having a long stretch in-between the next time. Bentley was aware of his new girlfriend, considering they had discussed it over coffee, nothing too special though. perhaps he would see what Adele thought about the matter because in all honesty, he needed a push to actually seek out his twin and reconnect on a basis that could get them passed the past. he was sure if anyone could find a way to get him to do it, she was the one to go to for it. ``hey. do you think you could give me some moral support on trying to reconnect with Bentley?`` scratching at the back of his head, he gave a half-hearted smile her way as he finished letting the words he was thinking escape his lips and come out into the open for the first time in a long time because, once again, this was honestly the first time he had been able to do it. with Adele Potter, a lot of firsts were coming up. Mason hadn`t yet to fully explain what had happened between him and his brother but he had given her more of a moral idea to it than he had anyone else- besides his best friend, that is. everybody who knew one of the brothers knew that they weren`t attached at the hip like when they were children, so clearly something was up. Mason wanted the old days back when it came to Bentley- he wanted him to always be around. he wanted to have his other look-a-like other half; half literal at that. getting away from that now, he wanted to focus on them instead of what wasn`t the most important matter. instead, his focus turned to what was most important and that had been when he planted the kiss on her neck; Adele was the number one in his heart, the most important. twining his hand with hers as she took it into hers, he smiled a full, open-mouthed smile this time around.
heart pounding with adrenaline, the feeling was exhilarating. he loved what she did to him. if he was feeling low and she suddenly appeared, he was awake and aware, as if he had gone to just woken up to wide awake without any time lapse. it was amazing. she was almost like a drug, but instead of injecting anything into his system the sight of Adele alone was enough. that was before even getting into what her lips could do to him and the magic that sparked up there. wooooooooo! it was surely something. ``why would you be hiding that pretty little face of yours from the rest of the world? they deserve to see the beauty it possesses, you know. you can`t keep it only for my eyes- okay, you can, but you shouldn`t.`` grinning like a mad-man, he meant it. she was beautiful, and people were missing out if she was hiding away. the real show would be if she got out of her shell and played. she could take an audience by storm, it was just a matter of working her into knowing that.. and not being afraid of the stage. at least, that was what he thought she had going on: stage freight. if it hadn`t been for his cocky, over-confident attitude he probably would have experienced it but even without a major talent, he was great with crowds. he just.. had a way with people. he always had. it was natural. planning to, overtime, try and work her into at least trying to show off her talent once, he knew that he wasn`t the only one who would enjoy what melodies she brought out into the open. especially considering he wasn`t completely obsessed with music, and didn`t even understand how great or difficult some things she composed were. ``i`m good. i thought it was time i came and got a kiss from my girl, though? how is she, by the way? have you seen her anywhere? `` being the goof that he is, Mason jokingly looked around as if they weren`t the only two into he auditorium before looking back into her eyes and pulling her closer into his chest, slow and gentle as if she were porcelain.
