hair color:

distinguishing features:
I would have to say his eyes. Most people take their time to examine his eyes and then move down to his facial features. Henry doesn't exactly have any visible scars at least not around his face. Most people also notice his broad shoulders and that a tad empty look in his eyes.
style:
not too casual nor not too stylish either. Henry prefers neat jackets and flexible clothing. He hates bright colors so you would see him always wearing something neutral such as gray or white. Most of the times it's just a regular t-shirt with some old baby puke on it or food staines that he missed. Henry doesn't these days care what he puts on, since his wife was the one who normally made sure that Henry's attire was presentable. He hates ties and suits, but if he has to, he'll put on a nice suit.

personality:
COLD:
This is how he has always been. It's part of what makes him the Henry he is. He has a tendency not to show his emotions to anyone, not even to his siblings. The death of his beloved wife made sure that he withdrew into his shell even more. His father was a huge fan of the olden days. He highlighted the fact that men should be reserved and hold their emotions, which actually sounds like the women back in the Victorian era. Yet Henry was taught to hold his tongue and most importantly, not to show any signs of weakness - emotions. His decisions are based what his head says not his heart and because of these decisions he has come this far and succeeded in life. He keeps his work and life in separate boxes and never brings his work home so to speak. He makes sure his private life stays private. To his family, specially to his daughters, there are some signs of emotion, but to everyone else he's just another cold, emotionless man.
STUBBORN:
Even as a child, Henry was always told his head was too thick. He was the sort of child who could argue about anything, and the other person's opinion had no affect on him whatsoever; even after he had grown up, he remained the same stubborn boy. It wasn't that Henry didn't have an open mind, but that when he was given information he made up in is mind quickly on things. Once this blue eyed boy makes up his mind there is really no changing it. Henry has never been the type you could sit down and reason with. Talking about the other side of things never really made much of a difference to Henry. His father had a some effect on this awful trait of his, but only a little. When Henry grew up he remained the same. He knows how to shut down his feelings around the others and knows how to behave, even though he stubbornly resists everything.
STRAIGHTFORWARD:
There is not much Henry Charlton leaves unsaid nor undone. He's a man of principle and authority and believes in quick and sharp actions. There's also the fact that he tells you what's on his mind no matter what. He makes sure you know what he thinks of you or your stupid ideas and most of the times, his words comes out as harsh. There are no boundaries of his spiteful words towards you when he doesn't like you. Trust me, Henry will show his anger or hatred to you. He has no problem firing your sorry ass if you don't do your work well.
CARING
After all those bad qualities, the one good quality of Henry's, has to be caring. This trait he only shows to his daughters. His two rays of sunshine that he looks after even when his wife is gone now. Even if Aurora and Anastasia are the only ones who has seen Henry's soft side, it still doesn't differ much from his normal side. When his wife was still alive, the man was more open and had no problem showing his affection for his daughters. Henry knows that he doesn't want his girls to end up like him; this cold machine, so he tries to raise them much differently like his father had done. He tries his best, but sometimes fails miserably — his cold side tends to pop up and his temper flare up.
TEMPERED:
We all say that people have at least some kind of a temper. In Henry's case, this is no different. Henry's temper has always been one of the nastiest. Back in school, it was a known fact to leave Henry Charlton alone or he'll kick your sorry arse without no particular reason. He wouldn't take crap from no one and often got into fights and detentions. Professors were used to seeing Henry's face in the detention hall or scrubbing some old barrels. Over the years, specially after his first child's birth, his patience has stretched long enough until he reached the point when the little baby girl would just run around bare bummed, because her father was too pissed off with the diapers sticker. When at work, Henry tries to keep his temper in a leash, but unfortunately for the people he works with, this hasn't happened yet. Don't be surprised if in a bad day, you see him yelling to someone over a spilled coffee.

history:
It was just like every other day in the Wizarding world, but for Darla Charlton, this September night was going to be tough. She was told to push. The pain shot all trough her body. A baby boy, she was told. His birthday was marked as September 30th. Theodore Charlton overjoyed. Another son. This little bundle of joy was named Henry Theodore Charlton, after Darla's mother. Only days after his birth, Richard the older brother by two years, peeked into the crib to witness his new younger brother. He saw no resembles to himself nor he saw fit to be happy and could not understand why everyone were fussing over this big headed thing. Needless to say Richard's and Henry's early years were filled with jealousy and hatred. When Henry reached the age of 5, he was already a very active young boy. The Charlton family was huge so Henry grew up surrounded with cousins and other extended family. He loved playing with the family's servants and pulling pranks on the maids. There was nothing this young boy couldn't do. Richard, even if being two years older joined his brother with his pranks, but if they were to get caught he would always blame on Henry. Jealousy made Richard do stupid things. Sometime around March, the Charlton family received another boy, Landon Otis. Unlike Richard, Henry was thrilled to have another family member and sooner or later Richard would understand the love for his two brothers.
Everything was perfect in the Charlton residence. Theodore made certain that the two older boys would be taught with the right way - the aristocratic and the pure way. When Henry was 7, his schooling started right away. He was taught French, Latin, German with all the normal subjects such as History, Mathematics and politics. For some reason Theodore wanted the boys to know about their heritage and know who they were. When Theodore's and Darla's third son, Edmund was born, Richard was sent to a boarding school and from there he left to Hogwarts. There was a long period of time when Henry couldn't see his brother, but had a busy time with his two younger siblings. In the midst of all that training and tutoring, Henry's taste for pranks never stopped. He was more than just mischievous, sometimes his pranks were just plain brutal. No one could ever prove this, but there used to be a cat running around in the Charlton mansion and day it vanished. Henry was seen multiple times teasing the cat already and he did show up his hands full of cat fur one day. The little boy would never admit anything of course.
11 - year old Henry received his Hogwarts letter on June 1st. His parents were thrilled. Richard was already in Hogwarts and Theodore and Darla intended to put all their children in Hogwarts. Henry jumped to the train and headed off to Hogwarts with mixed feelings. He loved new challenges and this was just one of them.
Just like the rest of his family and his brother before him Henry Charlton was sorted into Slytherin. He adapted well in the castle, expect the little boy, who was tall and skinny and resembled more like a stick figure than a boy stood out from the crowd. He was often teased about this and unfortunately for little Henry, Richard wasn't there to help him. His older brother was very reluctant to even recognize Henry as his brother. Henry confronted Richard about this and it ended up in a fist fight. Two flared tempers was never good.
Summer holidays were always fun, but not for Henry and Richard. Their quarrels had taken a turn to the worse about the same time when the Charlton family's youngest, their first daughter was born. Henry, at the times was 12. Evangeline's birth was shadowed by the cancer that Theodore had fought away once before, but unfortunately it came back around. Henry and Richard went back to school while Darla struggled to raise Edmund and Evangeline. She fell into a depression soon after Theodore was diagnosed.
In Hogwarts, Henry stayed low yet still managed to get into plenty of trouble. He was the regular face in detentions and he didn't have much friends to begin with. Henry got used to the teasing and returned with his temper and harsh words. He taught himself how to hurt people with his words and managed to do that. Which ended mostly into trouble and one time was close to being expelled if it wasn't Theodore who with his connections persuaded the headmaster to let Henry stay.
By the time, Richard graduated, the family was torn apart. Evangeline was too little to understand, but Henry watched his family grow apart day by day. The elder sons still had a war going on between them and Henry hated his brother with passion. Henry graduated with high scores too. He might had been a troublemaker, but he wasn't stupid after all. After graduating the young man decided to take a break from all that studying and got a job at a one of the cafes in Diagon Alley. He was happy, but far too often was he told that he was doing the wrong job. Henry was a strong-willed and wanted more action. Wiping tables was the last thing he wanted to do, but at the moment he had no other things to do.
Two years passed quickly and Henry was still working in the same place. He was stuck. Richard was out seeing the world, leaving Henry in charge of taking care of Evangeline while Darla went trough her depression. Theodore was in a bad shape too — his condition had worsened and was now not able to walk. Henry hated the fact that his brother had gone off. He blamed Richard of bailing from his duties and the deep crevice between the brothers kept growing and growing.
But the death of Theodore forced Henry to forget his hatred for Richard. After a long battle with cancer, he died on a cold January night. Funeral was held for the family and friends. Henry moved back to their family's mansion to help around. It wouldn't matter - Darla died soon after her husband was buried. She suffered a tough disease that took the best of her, leaving Henry and Richard with young Evangeline.
Even if the two brothers had to look after their baby sister, they weren't alone. The Charlton family was big enough for the boys to get help from their aunts and uncles. For once, Henry thought things could get better, but he was disappointed soon after. Richard, the wild-child of the family decided to leave once more. This he did without telling anyone and disappearing into the night. When Henry found out about this, he was furious. He wanted to track his brother down and bring him back, but his relatives told him it was no use; Richard would just leave again.
Since Henry at the time was unemployed, his fathers friends in the ministry saw great potential of Henry and decided to take him into the Auror academy. Since he had graduated with high scores, it was the right choice and from there, Henry's life improved quite a bit.
At the ripe age of 22, Henry started his Auror training. He was an excellent student apart from one; patience. He could not do stake-outs nor waiting in some dim room for someone. He just couldn't do it. Henry's training did take longer due to this fact, but in the end, he graduated and got a permanent spot in the Ministry of Magic at the age of 26.
He was always one of the rash and bold Aurors in the office. That's why he was the one who was sent into different countries to do more dangerous things. Some of them probably hoped Henry would get killed in action and some people hoped the horrors he saw there would shut him up. On the contrary - Henry Charlton met his future wife and the love of his life in France after a mission. She was a blue eyed beauty and he a rugged Auror. You can't say it was love at first sight since Angelique rejected Henry at least four times before giving up and going on a date with him.
It wasn't too long when the couple got married back in England.
Another happy event occurred when the couples first child, Aurora was born.
Life couldn't get any better. Henry was 27, happily married and a baby girl who he spoiled rotten. Yet, faith was cruel to our poor Henry. Angelique started showing first symptoms of her illness. It worried the two of them and for the sake of their new family, they decided to take measures to make sure that Angelique would get healthy. Henry almost spent all of his family's funds to find a cure for his wife. His search wasn't in vain, Angelique got better.
For 10 years the couple had no problems, no sign of Angelique's illness. Aurora grew up and she was the couples pride and joy. Henry and Angelique were happy and when Anastasia was born the family was set.
Around the time when Henry got promoted the first time, Angelique was rushed into St Mungos after collapsing. At first no one knew what had happened, but Henry could sense the bad news coming down at them. Henry was right - the illness his wife suffered ten years ago, came back.
Angelique's condition took a turn to the worse and she died only three months after the couples ten year anniversary. Henry made sure that her funeral was beautiful and private. She was buried to her resting place in a warm August day.
Henry struggled with two children. It wasn't too easy for the Auror to be home with her daughters, specially with the newborn. Luckily, he was helped by his own family. Landon, Edmund and Evangeline gladly too turns on babysitting the two girls while Henry was at work.
Henry grieved Angelique's death. He changed, all of his workmates saw this, but no one dared to say anything. He was still the same, brilliant Auror like he used to be and never let his grief get the best of him. That's what they thought. Henry wasn't alright. His wife was the one he could rely on and after all was the love of his life. After the funeral, Henry became more of a thrill-seeker than ever before. He got into fights more often and more reckless. The wake up call to the real world was when he got into an accident, an explosion that almost killed him. That brought him back to thinking how much he still had. He had Aurora and Anastasia. He had his family. What would happen if he died? His two girls would live without their father. Henry wasn't going to let that happen so he took a grip of himself and decided to give his girls a better life. Just like Angelique would've wanted him to do. Aurora's Hogwarts letter arrived and she was sorted into Slytherin. It made Henry happy knowing that his daughter would follow the tradition of the family.
After two years of his wife's death, the man was promoted to Head Auror after his predecessor retired. Henry wasn't the only choice of course, but his hard work and leadership skills won him the job. Now, living in London with his youngest daughter, he still has a hard time taking care of Anastasia. She's already two years old and sometimes is seen with Henry at work. They live in London while Aurora attends in Hogwarts.

Was it too much to ask for a day that didn't include a life-threatening situations? Apparently it was. The day hadn't even reached to noon yet when Henry was summoned to help when Death-Eaters raided some muggle village. He saw people keel down dead. He saw so many people he knew die. On top of that, he was tired. Even if Viola was already nine years old, she still kept her father awake. Ever since she saw pictures of dead bodies in the Daily Prophet ( why the hell did the Prophet even publish those kind of pictures? ), her nightmares had gotten a turn to the worse. Every night, she would wake up screaming and crying. The worst part was Viola wouldn't tell her father what kind of nightmares they were. She would just cling to her fathers strong chest and sob. This had gone on and on for the last two weeks now and Henry was exhausted. He knew he could never blame Viola, but he blamed himself for leaving the Daily Prophet out on the kitchens counter.
Henry returned into his office, sauntering and tired. His heavy cloak on his shoulder was placed on the back of high back black chair and the man himself sat down. His whole body ached. The worst place was his back. Maybe it was a sign of getting old or he had gotten a hit of some sort. What ever it was, Henry hated it. His hand went up to his temples and he rubbed them, trying to stop the headache that was making it's way and fast.
Things were not they used to be. That was for certain. Ever since Elizabeth got that promotion, Henry had struggled to keep the Auror office intact and Death-Eater free. Obviously it was harder than it seemed. You-Know-Who had gained his power back, Death-Eaters were infiltrating the Ministry quicker than Henry could say quidditch. As an Slytherin alumnus he was expected to be part of Death-Eater gang, but to be honest with you, Henry could not care less. Yes, he had been offered many times to be part of their ranks, in the high up seats, next to the Dark Lord himself, but Henry didn't see it as an opportunity to be something big, but a threat. What if something happened and he was killed? Who would take care of Alfred and Viola? His siblings were there, of course, but lately Henry had alienated from them as well. In these dark times, he felt as if he could not trust anyone, not even his own blood. Sounded absurd even to his own mind yet he couldn't help it. In this business you could not believe anyone, there could be traitors around the corner. Since Henry hated surprises, a traitor family member would've been the worst surprise ever. He had seen it before - a family member teaming up with the mortal enemy. So many times, so many families ruined because of this. Henry had his shield on 24/7. The only exception was his daughter of course; the ray of sunshine in his dark, tad depressing life. After seeing all those horrors at work, Henry would return beat and shocked what he had seen. His home would be the prison of his own nightmares and terrors, but Viola always was there to make sure Henry wouldn't fall into the depths of darkness anymore. The little girl was so wise for her age and she would snuggle under the protective arms of her father and tell him that everything was going to alright soon.
Henry took breath pinching the bridge of his nose. The distinct sound of the other Aurors outside his office was making his patience wear off any minute. He still had so many things to do. Paperwork, a meeting with some of the department heads and a brief training moment with the new Aurors. Ugh, newbies. They were both a nuisance and useless in the fields, but they needed every extra men and women they could get. The war had sparked a rather protective mode to some people and some of them were eager to help the Ministry the best they could. Unfortunately, they were untrained and not ready to face the horrors. Just last week Henry watched three trainees walk away from the job, just because they couldn't handle all that death in the field. What a bunch of pansy's they were and so the next day, when Henry had to train some of the new ones, he made sure they saw a dead body. Just to make sure people could handle death, blood and mayhem.
Henry opened his blue eyes and stared at the door of his office. Every Auror in this office knew that the Head Auror should not be disturbed. You could say the man was unpredictable when it came to his temper. One minute he could be calm and the next be throwing things out from the window. Trust me, it happened one time, it was not pretty.
Henry was not liked, but he was not the hated either around here. He was aware that when Elizabeth was the Head Auror, she had a different way of doing things, but Henry was more blunt. He wanted things to be done here. Specially in times like these. The man leaned back on his chair and filled his lungs with air, his mind calm and solemn. For once.
