play-by:
Alexis Bledel
hair color:
Brown
eye color:
Blue
distinguishing features:
Her incredibly blue eyes. They're usually the first thing people notice about her.
style:
Mel dresses like a boy. Or at least, she does her best to dress like one. She wears sneakers, but mostly converse, jeans, t-shirts, and often a beanie or a cap, or something along those lines. She hardly ever wears either a skirt or a dress, unless she's absolutely forced to. The only time she really wears anything like it is when there's a really important event. However, with the feminine clothing you have to beg and whine and complain and bribe and even threaten her to get her to wear something nice. It's not that she hates dresses for how they feel...she's okay with the material, but she doesn't feel like she looks good enough in a dress to be able to wear them. Also, for the few times that she does wear a dress, she always wears converse with it, even if it doesn't really match. Mel refuses to make herself wear high heels, and already hurts herself well enough without them. She wears no bracelets, no necklaces, no rings. The only reason she has piercings is because she thinks certain types of piercings will make her look tough. She doesn't use the girly types of earrings.

likes:
quidditch, roughhousing, muscular boys, reading romance novels, sports, transfiguration, pranking, jokes
dislikes:
dresses, pink things, potions, the hospital wing, being clumsy, high heels, bullies, rules, studying
strengths:
outgoing, loyal, sweet, brave, kind
weaknesses:
hot-tempered, stubborn, clumsy, opinionated, sensitive
fears:
losing her family, hospital wings, and to never find that somebody who will love her just the way she is.
dreams:
to become a great quidditch player. to make a difference in the world somehow.
secrets:
Mel's biggest secret is really that she's had issues with her weight for a long time. She eats less and less because she never likes how she looks, despite the fact that she acts as if she couldn't care less anyway. She hates how she looks, and therefore, diets and generally eats as little as possible to try to improve herself somehow.
personality:
Melissa Wood is a very spirited individual. She's energetic, bold, rather courageous in stupid ways, and passionate. If there's one thing to know about Mel, it's that she cares a lot about everything. If she finds something important, she defends it to the end. She's a very cheerful young woman, and likes to get to know as many people as possible, except for those in slytherin because they remind her too much of her siblings. Mel is very sweet, overall though, and most other people get along really well with her. And even though she has plenty of moments where she looks a bit insane, most people like her better for it. Mel is extremely clumsy, so if she doesn't fall over everyone, it's a weird day. The people who accept her for that will be her closest friends. She's also a generally enthusiastic person. Her heart may be in the right place, but most of the time she speaks her mind. She doesn't really have much of a filter on her mouth, so a lot of the time she'll say something rude but not have meant that at all.
The thing about Mel is that she does have a bit of a temper. Actually, when it's unleashed it tends to get very nasty, very fast. She never hesitates, and is quick to throw blows or unleash a hex or two. Mel is incredibly fierce, it's part of her nature. After growing up with her rather unpleasant family, she has had to be able to defend herself. Mel is a very persistent and also stubborn girl. When she decides on something, she sticks with it, even if she knows she is wrong. She trusts her own judgment more than anyone else's. Mel is also very sensitive, and takes things pretty hard. If someone insults her or others, she is quick to defend herself and those closest to her. She's extremely loyal to her friends, and cares about them very much. To her, friendships are more important than anything else. And while Mel does wonder about what love would be like, she doesn't think she'll ever have it. Since she's too ''boyish'' as her parents believe, and therefore she doubts she'll meet someone who will be interested in her. So even as she reads romance novels and loves romantic songs, she just doesn't allow herself to hope. As far as love is concerned, she has a low self esteem.

history:
Melissa Wood was born the youngest and only daughter to Ryan and Lynn Wood on a hot summer's day of July 18th. She was, from the very start....an incredibly energetic little girl. And although her mom tried to stick her into dresses and get her to play with girls of her same age, she never found that to be exciting. The whole, playing with dolls, pretending to drink tea and stuff was something Mel never found to be interesting. Instead, she followed her two older brothers around and wanted to play what they played. Mel was always a bit of a tomboy, and found what her brothers did to be way more fun than what girls liked to do. She liked to play sports, magical or muggle with other guys as well. It didn't really matter who, she just loved to do something where one could really exercise. And okay, she just wanted to prove she could do things like her brothers did. Her parents always told her she should be confident with being herself, a girl, but she never really accepted that answer. She always liked the way boys did things better. And yet, there was a brief time where she actually became very close with three girls, the summer before she was going to go to Hogwarts. They became very good friends, and even though they promised each other to remain friends afterward, that was harder to enforce.
Melly went off to Hogwarts, and although she saw the friends she made around somewhere, she never really had the chance to talk to them. Especially once she was sorted into Gryffindor, which was not the same house some of them were sorted into. And that sort of put a halt to the friendships. Mostly because they all were busy doing whatever it was they needed to do. Mel made new friends in her own house, and she had a blast doing it. She got along with boys a bit better than she did with others, but she still made friends with some girls. And after the first year at Hogwarts, she was immersed in Quidditch. Her second year she tried out for the Gryffindor team, and made it on as a reserve. Within the next year she actually became a real member of the team, which she was extremely proud of. For the next few years, her main focus was Quidditch, except for during her fifth year, when she also had to pay attention to O.W.L.s and make sure she actually passed some. If she managed that, she would be pretty happy. And yet, she started having doubts about herself. That she really was as boyish as people told her. She knew she had spent so many years trying to be that way, but it started to lower her confidence about a lot of things, especially the idea of love.
She started seeing a boy around that time, the end of her fifth year and on, who seemed really sweet, and made her feel really special. But the one thing he couldn't do was instill confidence in her that she actually looked as good as he kept telling her. Within the next year or so, Mel started dieting. Before she really realized it, it became a habit, and a rather unhealthy one. Her boyfriend stuck it out with her for two years basically, and then at the end of their seventh years, he asked her to go see a healer or something, because she was looking really thin. That struck a nerve in her, and even though she knew he was right, she was angry, and frustrated, and scared, and so she snapped out at him, and they broke up. After this, there was quite a dark time in Mel's life. Because she had known that her boyfriend was right, but she had been too scared to let him be right. Shortly afterward she did try to see a healer, and she gained a little bit of weight to the point where she was at least a little bit back to normal, although she was still underweight. Since it was better than she was before, Mel figured she was okay then, even though she still dieted despite herself. She ate, but she also avoided any junk food whatsoever.
After graduating from Hogwarts, Mel had a summer where she was trying to figure out what to do with her life. And since she wasn't quite sure, she decided to go to the University so she could attempt to figure it out. While she wasn't sure if it would help, she entered the University, and her freshman year went by pretty fast. She absolutely loved the university. It had quite a bit more freedom than Hogwarts, and that made Mel absolutely love the place. That same year she came across her ex again, who had, not too surprisingly, also chosen to attend the University. But Mel, still bitter from their break up, didn't want anything to do with him. However, he kept trying to get with her. And it was around that time that she learned another side of his personality.... obsessive. It was then that she felt incredibly relieved not to be with him anymore, since he kept following her around, and he had kept pictures of the two of them together, and it was extremely uncomfortable for her. The year passed, and soon she became a sophomore. Her main goals for the present are to pass her classes, avoid her ex, and be close to her family. She feels she doesn't need much else.

Alexia was lagging a bit on some homework, which sucked. The only time she'd ever enter the library was for doing homework or for forcing some nerd to do it for her. She really didn't feel like doing work today. That would be so boring. Alexia was rather lazy. And she wanted to mess around with someone's head. She hadn't had the chance to do so in a while. So if she could bully someone for a little bit, she'd be happy. Alexia was always pleased by such things. She was a genuine pureblood girl from France, and very proud of it. She was snobby, and she was vain, and she loved to think herself above most other people. That was the proper way to act, she knew. Her parents were incredibly proud that at least one daughter would uphold the family traditions. Alexia barely thought about her twin sister....she would often pretend she had none at all. It was always easier that way. Plus it was annoying when she and her friends would walk somewhere and then her twin would come along, all cheerful in her uniform. Alexia hated it when her friends would say, "That's your sister?" in that disbelieving tone. She knew it was unbelievable how different the two of them were. Alexia could hardly believe it herself sometimes. But that was life. In any case, she quite happily disregarded her sister as anyone but an acquaintance, or even less than that sometimes. She really didn't care if that was wrong. Alexia was quite a bitch. Which she was proud of.The blond had been bored lately. All the cute older boys had been busy studying for NEWT's, and even she had been forced to study for the OWL's. Now that it was over she hoped she could find somebody to play with. Just for a little while until she could find one of her friends and bully someone together. Alexia sighed as she entered the library, glancing around. Nerds, nerds, and more nerds. She often felt that the library should just be declared an Adler area. Nobody else cared anyway. The girl glanced around for someone weak and quiet looking. Her focus came in on a Dachs kid. Alright, well perhaps kid wasn't the right term. From his looks he must have been a seventh year, but he still looked like the type that could easily be kicked around. The blond glanced him over again. He was pretty cute....for a Dachs at least. She could also see that he had plenty of muscles, which was pretty cool she had to admit to herself. Not that it would stop her in the slightest. Alexia looked herself over and smirked. Yes, she looked wonderful as usual. That boy would definitely learn something new today. He looked innocent, as if he had never even held a girl's hand, let alone done anything else. What a shame, Alexia thought to herself. The girl made sure she was standing as tall as she could before making her way over to the unfortunate Owen Peakes. She came over to him and placed a hand on his shoulder, which made the poor boy jump and panic.
As he looked at her, it was clear he had been hoping she was someone he knew. Alexia smiled her best fake smile at him, before wrapping her arms around him before he could even get out a single word from his wide open mouth. "Hello handsome. Listen, I need a favor, and I was hoping you could help me." She whispered cheerfully into his ear, trying to sound sweet and sensitive, which of course, she truly wasn't. Owen, who was already visibly terrified, nodded shakily, clearly wishing he was invisible. Alexia reached into her bag and pulled out a huge stack of papers, with a half-written essay for charms in it. She handed Owen a quill and an ink bottle and smiled, although it didn't reach her eyes. "Write the rest of this for me and I'll leave you alone, I promise. I just....you looked so smart, and sweet, and I thought you would be able to help me." Alexia spoke all singsongy and as sweet as possible to try to reassure him a little bit. Now that she had complimented him, and seemed relatively nice, she had the boy in the palm of her hand. He was flustered, and most likely relieved that she wasn't going to hit him or something, so he began to work on her essay. An incredibly smug expression came onto her face as he worked. The girl settled comfortably in a chair and let her feet rest on a footstool as she watched Owen work diligently. She only hoped he was a good speller, because otherwise she'd have to go through and fix it, since she was known for her good spelling even if she was quite blatantly lazy and sloppy about almost everything else. She sat back comfortably, looking far too pleased with herself, taking out a sketch pad to draw Owen's profile in the meantime. He was pretty good looking, so he might as well be a subject of her artwork. "Might want to hurry sweetheart. Wouldn't want to get you into trouble." Yet again she was telling a bunch of bullshit, but she wanted her assignment done quickly, not only so the likelyhood to be caught was reduced, but also so she could go do something more fun. The girl smiled to herself as she drew, until some fool got in the way from where she was glancing towards Owen to sketch him properly. The girl looked up with a glare, hating to be disrupted while working on her drawings. An eyebrow raised, she looked as if she would willingly kill the person. "What the hell do you want? Can't you see I'm working?" Alexia demanded irritably, hoping the person would just go away and let her continue her work.
