eighteen , hufflepuff , freshman , lily collins , original
that's a great name. any meaning behind it?:
"what, tabitha? i don't think it's too great! i much prefer being called tabbie but if you insist on tabitha then so be it. apparently my name means gazelle like. i really didn't get that when i was little - i was just like, so i'm a deer type thing? but if you look at the traits of a gazelle you'll find that i'm supposed to be adaptable - a gazelle can exist in small groups or large groups depending on the situation. they're very alert - i interpreted this as hyper for me. i goof about a lot of the time. and i mean, majorly goof out. i'm a muggle born so i know a lot of cheesey music, which i can never help but to dance around to like a dick whenever i hear it. yes, yes, fear the weirdo hufflepuff girl. i suppose one of the more physical traits could be my legs. i'm quite leggy. it's annoying though - my legs are long but my body is tiny. i'm only 5"5, which is average for girls i suppose - but there are so many huge girls out there which can get a little intimidating at times if you ask me."

fascinating. now, tell me, where and when were you born?:
"well, i've already mentioned the fact that i'm a muggleborn. so i wasn't born at st. mungo's or anything like that. it was in a muggle hospital in central england - i was a planned baby whereas my elder brothers weren't. when my parents got married, my mum had actually told my dad she didn't want kids - then boom twin boys popped out. oops! i've blabbered on so much i forgot to tell you when i was born! i was born on the seventeenth of april. there we go!"

what about your family? who are they, are they still around? what's your relationship with them like?:
"suppose i've already hinted at this in your earlier questions but i'll tell you more if you want. yeah? okay! i have two older twin brothers, trey and trace. they're sophomores now and they're the best things in my life. we'd come up with the most amazing games when we were younger - our imaginations were the best at that age. there was this one time that we ended up pretending we were doctor and nurses in an epic war zone and that there was blood and guts going everywhere. the blood was tomato ketchup and the guts were tinned tomatoes. my parents on the other hand were quite different. they met at university (yep, they were muggles) and weren't exaclty on the best of terms to start off with. mum absoloutely hated my dad for ages - and for some reason she won't tell me why she did. hm. my dad was completely smitten though - and after a tonne of persuading they got together during their final year. after they both graduated they got married relatively quickly. they got a doggy called maggie and then, my brothers arrived! you know the rest! our parents loved us so much - but for some reason they'd never tell us what their disagreements were in university. when us kids started to realise we were 'magical' maggie got sick with cancer and died - it upset my parents for days.

what was your childhood like? did you have a best friend, a worst enemy, any notable pet hamsters?:
"it was your average childhood i suppose - until the magic started showing through. i'd seen it happen to trace and trey so a part of me was kind of expecting it. that's not to say it wasn't a shock when it happened though. trace got picked on for it - i remember cause being the kind big brother that he is, he warned me about it. in the end though, the whole experience of finding out i was a witch wasn't too bad on me. in my last year at junior school there were a cfew girls who decided it'd be hilarious to make my life a living hell - but i had friends who, well they didn't necessarily understand was i was going through - but they understood that i was having a 'tough' time and just accepted it. i ignored the girls, got on with the year and waited anxiously for my hogwarts letter to arrive - just as it had done for trace and trey.
then on my eleventh birthday, just as it had happened the year before with my brothers, my hogwarts letter dropped through the letter box. i ran through to my parents, exctatic at being able to be around my brothers again for the next six year. during the months i'd had to spend on my own without them, i'd got bored easily. now i'd be able to chat to them whenevver i wanted again - i could hardly contain my excitement. when i arrived at hogwarts that september i was sorted into hufflepuff. as clichéd as it is, it probably was because i fit the definitions of most of their typical personality traits. i'm friendly, i don't judge people, and once i've made friends with someone i'll be loyal to them. the only trait that wavers slighlty is that most of us are 'hard-working'. during my first few years at hogwarts i wasn't hard-working - i dilly-dallied a bit, not putting in all the elbow grease that i could have. during my OWL year though, i was given a proper kick up the backside by my teachers and managed to get my head into gear for the next few years.

tell us about your occupation. how do you earn your keep? if you do earn one, that is. :
"i actually have a couple of jobs. during the summer when i go back home, i work in a muggle restaurant behind the bar, mixing cocktails and serving them out to the customers. when i'm back in the wizarding world though, i work as a sales assistant at madam malkin's. i'm not particularly interested in going into design after hogwarts or anything, but i get discount and it's well paid. it's all i want really."

what do you like to do for fun? what are your favourite things?:
"oh what a question! let's see. spending time with my family and friends always comes top of the list. whether it's a good bitching session with your best friend, or playing two aside quidditch with your brothers, i love a good bit of company. i also like food. food's amazing. i will always remember the moment when i sat down at the hogwarts feast and the food just - appeared. i think if i hadn't been so amazed by it, i'd have broken down in tears or something at the sheer sight of it. i'm not kidding. oh! i love babies. and kids. i don't even know why - i've just always been a very maternal person. i'm seriously considering just getting my college degree and then going to work as a nany somewhere or something. i could work for a rich family and just live with them and help their kids - i'd love that. i love watching people play the piano too. when their fingers just dance across the ebony and the ivory so graceully - it's beautiful. the sound of it helps too of course. "

how about things you hate? feel free to rant. i've heard it all.:
"brocolli. and cauliflower. why would you eat that stuff. i mean, i get that it's amazing healthy and blah blah blah, but it's disgusting! seriously! i'd rather lick the floor clean in the potions classroom than eat any. ew. boys that try and push your boundaries really tick me off too. when i'm out with my friends, i do not want guys grinding up on me like i'm some kind of object. i do not want them their in my vicinity! jesus christ almighty. the useful thing with that though, is having the older brothers who can go and kick their face in if anything happens. oh - there's some kind of muggle music too called screamo. yeah, the name speaks for itself. it's literally people screaming into your ears. think peeves the poltergeist on crack with a sore throat and you're almost there. that and country and western music. it sends chills down my spine and definately not in a good way. "

are you currently in a relationship or single? how do you feel about your love life in general?:
"i'm single at the moment but that's not to say that i've never had boyfriends. i've had - three over the years, two of which were semi serious. my first was a guy called mark stothard in my first year. it was just one of those stupid things - you know, you hold hands - and that's it. we lasted about two weeks which was a bloody record at that time.then from my third year to my fifth year i dated a guy called henry jarvis. i thought he was the bees knees - until he cheated on me. i wouldn't have sex with him when i turned sixteen so i was gone and out the door before you could say contraceptive charm. it was his loss anyway. then i dated a guy called peter theuring last year - in my seventh year. we got along really well and we actualy ended amicably. he went off to study dragons in bulgaria whereas i stayed here to attend university. we still keep in touch and send letters. my feelings on love in general? i don't believe in love at first sight - but i do believe in lust - and definately like. one day i'd like to get married too - but i have ages until i need to start thinking about that.
