Say what you will
I done made the devil a deal
He made me pretty
And I'm gonna break me a million hearts
I'm hell on heels

two loud mouthed, at times obnoxious boys. rumor loved her brothers, they got along pretty good. but that didn’t mean they hadn’t always faught for attention, battled and yelled. they were siblings, it happened. rumor’s mum had always said the reason rumor would never let anyone push her around in school was because she’d had lots of practice growing up with her brothers. it was fight back or die growing up. well maybe not die per say, but it was definately easier to learn to push back when they tried to run over her. so it had always been a bit easier for rumor than it was for some of her other friends in her group when they were growing up. see they were called the bloomers now. because they’d all been ugly ducklings. every one of them. they’d never been much to look at, and had gotten teased mercilesly for it too. but rumor had never let anyone push her around, they teased her and she just insulted them right back. and she did her best to stand up for her friends too. it had given her a bit of a tough shell, which came in handy now that they’d all ‘bloomed’ in to gorgeous model types. it was funny they’d become the exact type of girl they’d always laughed at (and been secretly jealous of). every single one of them could have been a profesional model or movie star, some had already been offered one or the other too. rumor though had always loved to sing. acording to her mum she’d sang her first word, banana. what kid’s first word is banana? apparently rumor’s. she was just a bit odd like that though.
odd like painting instruments pink. rumor chuckled to herself as she grabbed her pink guitar from it’s stand. it definately was unique. she’d one time gotten all the other bloomers to write on it at a sleep over. and the trend had continued. anytime she met someone new and interesting she’d ask them to autograph it. it made it lok even more crazy, on top of it being pink and all. it was totally unique though so she loved it. making her way into the auditorium rumor couldn’t wait to just let off some steam. things were going pretty great in her life right now. plenty of cute boys, her brothers hadn’t bothered her for a while, and she’d just had an awesome shopping date with a few of the other bloomers. it was great. but school was kind of tough. she loved waht she was doing, but she’d never been the best at school. and occasionally she’d just get frustrated and need to disapear into her own little world for a while. which was what singing did for her. she loved to design, but that seemed more of a wordly thing, it didn’t help her escape. singing alone was something entirely of her own. she could just let it all out and let loose in a way she often felt she couldn’t in real life.
walking out onto the stage rumor looked around at the big empty place. all the chairs with no one in them. it was rather freaky. but it was better than full. it wasn’t that she had stage fright. she just always was allot more nervouse. it was good for when she needed to sing higher octaves though. but for some reason a large crowd watching her sing just made her a wee bit queasy. she was working, really hard, to figure out just how to get over it. aside from getting a bit tipsy before she went on stage. that was an ok method. but it really only was a quick fix. being up on stage though was exactly where she felt at home. rumor had to admit she always got a thrill from it. especially when she was working on a new song. this would be the first time she attempted to sing her newest song. it was one she really wasn’t sure was right for the wizarding world. she’d been inspired by songs from a muggle country singer. sitting down on the stool rumor cleared her throat and started to sing...”i ain’t the kind you take home to mamma, i ain’t the kind to wear no ring, somehow I always get stronger when I'm on my second drink...”
