Senseless Denial, We spun like birds on fire right down towards the residence and i I took all that I desired even crooks have to pay the rent We swam like rats on fire right, right down the reservoir We took all that we could carry but we tried to carry more the dating scene wasn't something that was entirely new to quinton harper. in fact, he'd been on the scene far longer than a lot of his peers had, if only because he was half-veela and girls were naturally attracted to him. everyone knew who he was, what he was doing. it was no secret that quinn had a reputation as a heartbreaker; that much was common knowledge around the university, and around the world as far as quinn was concerned. which, for what it was worth, really wasn't all that much. quinn was undoubtably closest to marley, his twin, but beyond that he and ellery had an odd sort of bond that none of the rest of the siblings had. it was an odd bond, but it was there regardless. weirdly enough, quinn's middle name was ellis, which sounded incredibly similar to ellery. quinn didn't think about it all that often, but when he did he had to admit that it was interesting. he had quite a few things in common with the eldest harper, though neither of them would admit it, and for different reasons. ellery would say that she was the best regardless, and none of them could compare to her; quinn hated being compared to anyone, let alone his siblings who were in constant competition with one another, whether they actually realized it or not. there was a thing about being absolutely flawless -- once you recognized that you weren't the only stunning one in your family, you begin to aim higher, trying to better yourself more than your competition. it seemed petty, considering that one of those siblings was his own twin sister, but that's just how it was. naturally, he was less competitive when it came to marley and himself, but trying to be better than everyone else wasn't just a harper thing -- it was a quinn thing. and now that his mind was frequently invaded with thoughts of a forbidden crush, he found it even harder to keep up. in reality, quinn had nothing to worry about. he was half-veela, for merlin's sake. he could have any girl he wanted, with the exception of one and frequently did.
quinn was never disrespectful -- his parents had taught him that much in life. he was entirely spoiled, never to know the true meaning of a dollar or....sickle, but that hardly mattered. he would never have to worry about money; his parents had plenty of that to go around. had he been more globally-aware, he might have offered to assist those without. but he was a harper, and he was entirely stuck in his ways. quinn had it easy, and that's the way he wanted it to stay. adalynn wouldn't have enjoyed seeing the selfish side of him, but he couldn't ignore it and pretend that it wasn't there. he often did things for himself without much consideration for anyone else, and it wasn't that big of a deal to him. it came with the territory of being who he was, and it was a compromise that both parties agreed to beforehand. no worries, no commitment. which is exactly how quinn wanted it to be. pulling a button-up shirt on, quinn raised his wand to his hair and dried it. two shoes and a pair of jeans later, quinn exited his dormitory, winking towards a group of girls that just happened to look his way as he passed by. typically, quinn went to the local restaurant for all of his 'dates', but this time was an exception. he had met said girl a week beforehand, and after a short conversation in advanced charms, he was taking her to nitro. it was a far cry from what he was used to, but quinn was always ready for a change. he quickly apparated to the club, smiling as he walked up behind the girl he knew was his date. "well, aren't you stunning," he added as he snaked his arm around her waist. quinn glanced forward towards the door, then glanced back at the girl. "ready?"
COMPLETELY OPEN TO ANY GIRL WHO NEEDS A HOT DATE. <3 |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image:url(http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r71/maggiesrpstuff/BACKGROUNDS/29or3i8jpg-1.png); border-top: #335954 solid 30px; border-bottom: #335954 solid 30px; width: 457px; padding-top: 30; padding-bottom: 20;] set your soul on fire it surprised people to find out that kya was actually willing to talk about complicated things, sometimes. charms had been the only subject that she had never fallen asleep in... well, except after that one party, but that hardly counted. people expected her be the dumb girl with big boobs, because, well, she had big boobs and she worked as a bartender at the age of twenty-three. she wasn't about to claim that she was the smartest girl in the world, because she wasn't, but she wasn't as dumb as the planks that she was often compared to. and hey, if talking about charms was the way to get into the guy's pants, then she wasn't going to complain about talking about charms. after all, he was hot enough to justify more than a few sentences that suggested that she was a student instead of a bartender. and yeah, he was, at least compared to her, a kid, but harper was a kid too, by those standards... and she would have dated harper and harper was her best friend. until she hit twenty five, dating someone less than twenty wasn't creepy. at least, that was how she was justifying it to herself, and she wasn't about to go and change that logic just yet. because she wasn't over the hill, she wasn't old, she was just... older than the guy that she was about to go on a date with. but really, it was a date at nitro, after all. it wasn't that she had something against monogamy, or dates, or anything of the sort, but it wasn't like she really thought that a relationship was going to come out of this. having a bit of fun was something that kya was always up for, though. fun was in her veins, for merlin's sake. and tonight? tonight was going to be fun, that was for sure. whichever way you looked at it.
she'd taken the time to dress well, at least; that was something else that was also in her blood. she'd only been trying to convince harper to join her in doing that for the past five years, and it was only now that she'd managed to refill harper's closet with clothes that she more approved of that it was actually happening. the thought made her happier than it should have, really, since what she was really doing was allowing herself to perve on the younger woman more easily and on a more frequent basis. then again, since she put herself in a position to be perved on on a regular basis, she figured it was more evening the playing field than anything else. the fact that harper was straight and she wasn't was just irrelevant, really. but tonight, harper wasn't going to be the one that kya was being perved on by... at least, not unless she managed it as kya was leaving. no, tonight it was going to be quinton that was doing that. and, well, other people at nitro, but that was hardly the point either. she snorted; it was her night off, and she was going to the place that she normally worked on a date. that was what she got for letting him pick, she guessed. it didn't bother her that much, anyway. hopefully it just meant that the drinks would be cheaper when they bought them. giving herself one last critical look over in the mirror, she apparated into the line outside of nitro, and grinned at the doorman, pete. she would push that particular issue when quinton got here. she was fiddling with her hair a little when she felt the arm around her waist and raised an eyebrow at him, grinning. “could say the same about you, mr harper,” she said lightly, trying not to drown in the ridiculous way that sounded. straightening the hem of her dress, she nodded. “always. hey, pete, you wouldn't do something like make me wait, would you?” the grin on her face widened as pete rolled his eyes and opened the rope to them, earning them dirty looks from the people in line. kya wasn't about to care, though. she had come here to have fun, not make friends. and as she stepped inside, she was reminded, once again, of the fact that this was the best place to have it. 738 words, outfit, for quinton, lol <3 |

Senseless Denial, We spun like birds on fire right down towards the residence and i I took all that I desired even crooks have to pay the rent We swam like rats on fire right, right down the reservoir We took all that we could carry but we tried to carry more dating. this was what Quinn Harper did best. some might have said that this was his playing field; he didn't care much about the way people looked at it. either way, he had a pattern of behavior that many men envied. he had a date every day of the week, and his calendar was full up until the next month. the strangest thing was, girls really didn't mind anymore that they were on a running list of women that he was dating. every now and then, one of them would make the cut, and they'd date for a few weeks. that was the only time that Quinn wouldn't date other girls; any time aside from that, his calendar was full. as terrible as any other guy with a heart might have felt, Quinn had convinced himself that it was for the best. had he lived according to how he really felt, they would have never let him live it down. besides, Marley would know that something was up if Quinn stopped being Quinn all of a sudden. if and when that happened, she'd know for sure that something was off... and knowing Marley, it wouldn't take her too long to get the truth out of him. even now, he was living day-to-day scared to death that she already knew the truth. and worrying that much about your twin, who knew everything that there was to know about you... well, it was a bit unnerving. and Adalynn wasn't giving in anytime soon, which left Quinn to do what he did best: flirt and date other girls.
tonight had been reserved for a girl that was surprisingly older than Quinn, but was stunning nonetheless. well, that was a given -- Quinn Harper didn't date anything less than stunning. he was the George Clooney of the wizarding world (as far as he was concerned, anyway) and tonight's feature was Kya Wesson, a gorgeous red-head who just happened to work at nitro, where he typically went when he wasn't tied down with a date. nitro was the place to be for a lot of university students, especially on friday night. on most dates, Quinn would have taken a girl to Renalto restaurant, or even the cafe located in Diagon Alley, but tonight was different. Kya was different... in a good way. but that hadn't stopped Quinn from dressing as he typically did, with a traditional button-up shirt and jeans. different girls didn't exactly mean that he had to stop being his typical self, did it? he certainly didn't think so. but then again, nothing could change Quinn Harper. nothing could change a Harper in general; Ellery was a prime example of how stubborn they came. Quinn grinned as he snaked his arm around Kya's waist, pleased that she replied as quickly as she did. "well then, we must be one hot item." and they most certainly were, in his opinion. Kya was one of the most beautiful girls he'd taken out in a while, and despite the rumors, he always treated women with respect. Kya was certainly no exemption; if anything, he felt more obliged to act like a gentleman around her. Quinn raised an eyebrow as the man removed the rope so they could go inside. merlin, he hadn't even had to step forward to say anything.... now, that was attractive. Marley would have rolled her eyes at him for saying something like that, but Quinn thought it admirable that Kya held her own in any situation. as they stepped inside, Quinn leaned towards her, attempting to be heard over the music that was blasting through the place. "would you rather drink or dance, m'lady?" a boyish grin spread across his lips, his arm still snaked around her waist.
TAG: KYA. BLAHH, SORRY IT'S NOT THAT GREAT. NEXT ONE WILL BE BETTER. <3 |
