"girls." she called, listening to the footsteps behind her. she had friends that followed her every move, girls that she would ask what she should wear and do anything but that. it was an easy way to narrow down what she should wear; after all, it was harder when you looked good in everything. the blonde continued to ask which she should wear, and throw back any which were nominated. for some, managing things the way she did wouldn't work, as girls could easily pick one's that were better and have her put them away. however, she knew which she wanted already and if a girl picked it, they would be rewarded. and they knew that. plus adding in the fact that she struck fear into their hearts, yet they were still around, told her that they were forever placed in her palm, under her control. one thing Ellery loved was power, and this was where it all started for her. all that was left to do was move up in the world- which she planned to do. some hated muggles because they were pureblood (Ellery being one of them, though not for the same reasons as most) and some, like her, hated ordinary wizards because they weren't special and beautiful; or, to make it more defined and simple, veela. time passed and eventually a green dress was chosen- the one she had her eye on the hole time. the routine she went through to get a dress chosen was all for her own amusement. Ellery never wore a dress more than twice, fully aware there were more dresses out there waiting for her to rock the hell out of. a few minutes after applying a light coding of make-up to her face, Ellery apperated out of the University grounds and to the local bar. Jacen wasn't due for a half hour after she arrived, therefore teasing was calling out for her. walking in, she moved her hips back and forth smoothly, allowing her dress to move an inch up. lights shone down all around the dark room, flashing and spinning their way around. smirking, Ellery swept her hair out of her face and smacked her lips together, slowly approaching a man who was sitting with a bunch of girls around him, drink in hand.
lifting one finger, she moved it back and forward, insinuating that he came to her. before seeing if he left the girls, she turned around and went to the middle of the dance floor, knowing that he would follow. they always did. dancing, she allowed the beat to take control of her body. moving naturally as she always did, guys stared, girls backed off and others tried to out-do her, which only made her time more enjoyable. they were no competition. the rare time it did come was the best. being beautiful and naturally sexy, it got boring not having to beat the other. as it didn't take effort to beat the girls around her right now. time passed and Ellery moved to the bar top, a guy automatically offering to buy her drink. it was funny, as she had never once bought her own drink. ever. spinning around, she took a shot first before following it with a second and then having a drink that would last her more than a second. taking the cherry from the top, she ate it before curling the top of it with her tongue and then taking it out, placing it on the bar top. it was harder than it looked, but as always she owned it. getting slightly irritated that Jacen had yet to show up, she didn't look waiting and he knew that. the fact that she came early didn't matter to her. he was expected to know she would. simple as that. in a way, Jacen Avery was the male version of her- just not as beautiful and irresistible. ignoring the looks around her, she wasn't interested. she wanted Jacen. the two had always been a likely pair together, causing problems and arguing about everything. their friendship wasn't something that could be put into words. ever. it was unique, special. Jacen had been the one lone man who sparked feelings up in the blonde. feelings that she couldn't explain. didn't understand and felt totally foreign no matter how often they came up with him present. of course she wouldn't admit it, or ask if anyone knew that they were. she had more brains than that. her pride was far too important to do that. Ellery had a reputation to hold up, and feelings that she didn't understand arising wasn't going to be added into the equation. Ellery needed control. she craved it. emotions would not control her. no. she would control her. having told- that's right, told over requested- Jacen to meet her here to try and trump what she was feeling (obviously leaving the reason out). if he took much longer, Ellery would assume that he was doing it to try and keep his pride up. rolling her eyes at the thought as she consumed some of her drink, today was definitely not the day for him to try and make her feel angst; not that anything would stop him, either way.

Jacen looked himself in the mirror once more, flattening his shirt once more before running a hand through his jet black hair. Everything seemed to be in order but he just wasn’t sure, he was feeling that sixth sense feeling that something was being forgotten. Glancing around his room once, looking over at his roommates who weren’t paying him any mind, Jacen shrugged it off. Glancing at the clock that hung on the wall of their room, he realized he was already running late. Shrugging, he couldn’t really be bothered to care. After all he was going to meet with a woman that had left him waiting after the agreed time more often than not. Letting her taste some of her own poison would be a little bit of a reality check. Though what would most likely happen would just be her getting angry and cause her to keep him waiting even longer next time. To be honest he was surprised Ellery had invited him out to the bar tonight. They were friends of course, but usually when it came to nights out she would tease him that he had no life and leave him standing while she went off to some party or another. It was only added reason to leave her waiting a bit. Grabbing his shoes from under the bed, he slid them on and was ready to go. “Have fun boys” he told his roommates who just rolled their eyes as he walked out the door.
It didn’t take him long to get to the University grounds. One might think the night was still young judging by the various students sitting out or still walking in and out of the building. Smiling at some people he recognized, he walked a brief distance before apparating and appearing downtown. Spotting the nightclub, Nitro, across the street he made his way over. Normally Jacen didn’t bother with lines. That was typically because whenever he went to bars or nightclubs he typically brought two armfuls of girls with him. Being a quidditch star at Hogwarts, and still staying in shape through University did have its benefits. Today he was alone though, so he waited the brief time until he was in the club, the blaring music filling his ears. Doing a quick glance around seeing how the place was looking. As his eyes swept over the dance floor, he saw a familiar blonde drawing the eyes of the guys. Smirking he rolled his own eyes and made his way to the bar. A typical rule of thumb for Jacen, if he was going to deal with Ellery at her best he had to have at least a drink in him. Given that she was probably irritated with him by now as well and you might want to make it two.
Finding a spot on the end of the bar, he ordered his drink. Sipping it he watched as Ellery oblivious to his presence, got her own drink. Or rather, she got someone to pay for her own drink. Not able to stop himself from grinning, he sat content sipping his drink; more than happy to keep her waiting a few more minutes. Turning down an offer from a woman to dance, Jacen waited a few moments until his glass was empty before getting over and moving to the female slytherin’s position. Standing behind her, he leaned forward, his lips hovering over her ear. “I hope I didn’t keep you waiting” he finally spoke, knowing that she would instantly notice his voice. Jacen hoped she would jump at his sudden presence but chances were she would sit there as if she knew he was behind her the whole time. One thing Jacen had learned from knowing her for so long, was that she didn’t give you any victories; especially mental ones. Working himself in between her and that guy that was next to her, ignoring his protest, Jacen grinned at her as she had her drink. “I wasn’t sure if you said nine or ten.” It was more of a joke than an excuse. One that was meant to test and see what kind of mood Ellery was in. If she was angry, well then he could expect a smart-ass response. If she was happy…well he could expect a smart-ass response.
