Donovan could have a bad temper and something told him being around his father would bring out the worse in him. so he never went searching for the man. the only real family he knew was Nyla Rowle and Dahalia Malfoy.
the two girls had been and still were his everything. without them, he really had no idea where he would be. Nyla had been his first real friend. the first person to treat him kindly and in turn he found himself a never ending friendship. Dahlia had been a pretty girl whom Donovan had met in his first year aboard the train to Hogwarts. it was her curly blond hair that had drawn him in and it still did to this very day. they were the two people in Donovan's life that he had ever spent a great deal of time around without feeling that need to drink their blood. it sounded cliche but it was entirely true. he loved both of those girls, perhaps in different ways, but it didn't change that bottom line that he'd do anything for them. what bothered him most was the fact that he kept such a massive secret from the both of them. he hated it. especially when they were both completely and utterly open and honest with him. he had his reasons though for keeping the fact that he was a vampire to himself. good reasons. he didn't want his secret to get out because he didn't want to be looked at as a monster. he wasn't a monster. the only way he drank human blood was if it came from a bag and he could pour it into a cup. sure, he thirsted for human blood on a daily basis but he learned to control himself. he had too if he wanted any kind of a normal life. another reason he didn't want his secret getting out was because of his father. everything seemed to lead back to his father in one form or another.
he didn't want his friends lives at risk simply because his secret got out. Donovan was sure his father was still alive, it was just a sickening feeling he got in the pit of his stomach. if he was and he got wind of his son living and breathing, Donovan was sure the first people he'd go after would be those that his son cared about. he wouldn't do that to Nyla and Dahlia, he'd rather die himself. even if Nyla would probably enjoy being in his father's presences. merlin that women was honestly going to be the death of him. what he needed these days though was a distraction. usually his distractions came in the female form. usually blonds because then they didn't remind him of Nyla. sporting a pair of jeans, a some what white tee shirt beneath a green and black plaid shirt Donovan wandered aimlessly around the park next to campus. it was later in the evening so not many children were around. the swings creaked with each breeze that blew by, not phasing Donovan much. he was used to dark places and often preferred them. not that he was some kind of emo child or anything but the dark just offered him some sort of odd comfort. not to mention that he could see better in the dark then most. that and the fact that too much sun often left him irritable. heading towards one of the benches he raised his eyebrow at the body he found already sitting there. long blond hair with a body that even he recognized. not to mention the soft scent that he caught from her. smirking he quietly approached the bench from behind, barely making any noise at all. "don't you know its not safe for pretty blonds like you to be out here this late Annabel?" he whispered in her ear, a soft chuckle falling from his lips. coming around the front of the bench he sat down next to her and winked. "didn't scare you did i?" Donovan laughed. "long time no see gorgeous. how's it been?" it had been far to long since he seen the blond. he actually missed flirting with her. |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] and tell me that i take your breath away The Words: 954 The Outfit: here! The Notes sorry for the wait! annabel's life was, well... ordinary. there was no other way to describe it. nothing much had happened in her life as of late, nothing significant anyway. actually, that wasn't true. her sister, nico, was pregnant. with benedikt perlin's baby. annabel wasn't so sure what was more horrible, the fact that her sister was pregnant or the fact that she had to be pregnant with benedikt perlin's baby. annabel hadn't liked the guy much before, due to him being a pureblood elitist and how his attitude needed an adjustment, but now she hated the guy with every bone of her body. how dare he get nico pregnant! nico said in their last owl exchange that she wasn't going to be pregnant past the first three months, but still, if annabel ever got her wand and hands on benedikt perlin... well, his face just might get rearranged, or he'd be hexed so badly he would completely unrecognizable. aria flint, ben perlin's best friend, might hex her into the next country, but annabel couldn't give a damn to what that girl did. ever since she had flirted with her ex-boyfriend, back then her current boyfriend, the two girls had been enemies. and plus, if somebody had knocked up aria's little sister ainsley, wouldn't she hex the guy who had done it into the nex country too? but, still, annabel didn't care what that girl said, thought or did. even though annabel's ex had dumped her in sixth year, the thought of aria still made her blood boil. well, anyway, annabel had other things on her mind. like that huge essay on the importance and history of antidotes that was due in a couple of weeks. it was a minimum of two scrolls, and a maximum of four. for extra credit, you had to write four full scrolls. annabel had been spending the past four hours researching all the books about the history of antidotes and their importance. this essay would be a huge part of her term grade, so she wanted to do a really good job on it. her eyes were beginning to feel a little tired after reading through all those books that she could get her hands on. it was really something. already she was tired from doing an essay and she still hadn't actually written the essay! maybe she really did need a break from her schoolwork. that was why she was here in the university park, getting a break from her assignment and some fresh air.
which was why she was sitting on a park bench, all by herself, during the middle of the night. it hadn't become winter yet, so the air wasn't freezing cold. it was actually kind of pleasant, feeling the autumn breeze brush her gently as it passed. the moon, right now shaped like a crescent moon, shone brightly and was a beautiful silver color. surprisingly, even the stars were out. they were a pure white almost, and they dotted the sky as if they had been painted there. it was almost surprising to see so many stars out. lately they usually were covered with clouds, or by air pollution. global warming really was happening, after all. annabel frowned at the thought of global warming, but some other voice told her to worry about the future of the planet later. right now, she should just enjoy this night under the stars. it really was beautiful. moonlight bathed the park in silver light, and a small part of annabel that wasn't aweing the beauty wished that she had someone, nico, roe, or just another friend, to share this with. and then, almost immediately, her wish was granted. a voice suddenly whispered in her ear, "don't you know its not safe for pretty blonds like you to be out here this late annabel?" it was almost like a ghost had appeared next to her. a surprised look formed on her features, and she had to turn her head back to see if it really was a ghost, or just someone who could move really silently. as soon as she turned around, annabel saw it was the latter. it was her old friend, donovan vladislav! annabel hadn't seen him in forever, or knew that he could walk that silently. she couldn't help but smile. donovan and annabel had been friends in hogwarts. they had flirted with each other most of the time, but it had never turned into something more than just simple flirting. out of her old friends that could have been at the university, annabel hadn't expected to see him here. he was older than her, and annabel had just thought he had graduated by now. perhaps not, since he was here. maybe he was a junior, or a senior. but annabel had missed him, and had enjoyed flirting with him. she couldn't help but be glad to see her old friend. they could catch up after a couple of years, and perhaps enjoy the wonderful night with each other. donovan sat next to her on the bench. "didn't scare you did i?" annabel smiled and said, "perhaps just a little." she chuckled softly. "long time no see gorgeous. how's it been?" "great to see you too, handsome. it's been going ok, i guess. the essays are killing me, for sure..." annabel drifted off in thought for a few seconds. should she tell donovan about nico? annabel wanted to tell somebody. the secret-keeping was exhausting her. but nico was her sister, and she had told annabel not to tell anybody. anabel was going to keep her promise for nico. "...but i guess that's school, eh? so, what about you?" she couldn't help but wonder what donovan was up to lately. created by ADE! Pb-ified by WILL Lyrics by Victoria Justice |
