| [atrb=width,240]getting girls was never something that was difficult for Donovan Vladislav. quite the contrary. flirting was like breathing to him, a second nature if you will. what was difficult for Donovan was spending any large amount of time with them. over the years he had learned to narrow his time with any one girl. unless it was Dahlia or Nyla. it seemed they were both the exception to the rule. he didn't thirst for them the way he did for the others. after spending a large amount of time with random girls, his thirst for their blood seemed to grow. one would think the more time he spent with someone that it would go away. he seemed to be backwards though. he could control his initially thirst or need for blood, but drinking what he normally drank. however, as his thirst or need for them grew, drinking cold blood just didn't work. nothing seemed to work and he wasn't about to attack a human to feed himself. that just wasn't something that he would do, nor did he think he could do. sure he knew he had the natural instincts within him to do whatever he needed. he just didn't want to be that kind of guy. he wanted to keep his promise to his mother, that he wouldn't turn out like his father. running his hands into his hair as thoughts of his parents over took his mind again that week. it had been happening a lot more as of late and he couldn't for the life of him figure out why. he knew that his mother was never coming back, she was dead. that didn't stop him from missing her whenever things got tough.
his friends were great when it came to needing to talk to them, especially Dahlia. he could talk about anything with her, including his confusing feelings for Nyla. it was one thing that he couldn't talk to Nyla about. it didn't fill that void though that having his mother back would. sometimes he would go to the park just to watch children with their parents. it partly made him feel like a creeper but most of the time he was too lost in his own thoughts to really notice. he wold wonder what it would have been like if his mother had kept him. if his father had died of someone unknown disease that killed vampires and they could leave in peace. he knew it was like one of those fairytales, something that would never come true. these were things he could talk to Nyla about. those were his favorite nights with her. where they could just talk for hours on end about anything and everything that they wanted. until the sun came up and they'd barely even notice. then when she finally fell asleep he found he could watch her sleep for hours before growing tired himself. merlin, how his thoughts were all over the pace these days. messing up his hair he sighed heavily and looked up around his single dorm room. the dean didn't room anyone with him, for fear that he'd bite them when they were sleeping. he wasn't a monster and it took him a lot to figure that out about himself. especially when every status figure who knew what he was, seemed to think he was a monster. they cowered like he was going to attack them at any minute. merlin, hadn't they read his file at all? they probably had and that was what made them afraid of him.
with yet another heavy sigh he stood from his bed and stretched. he needed to go for a run, that usually helped clear his mind. stripping out of his work clothes, since he had just finished the early night shift at the bar. tugging on a pair of shorts and grabbing a bottle of water from his fridge. making sure the laces on his shoes were tied, since the last thing he needed was to trip. once he was sure everything was in check he exited his dorm room and went outside. it was a warm enough night to go without a shirt, plus he knew he would work up a sweat so he didn't need one. starting off his run at a leisurely jog, heading down through the courtyard and then towards the lake. eventually going from a jog into an outright run that he was barely noticeable at. one of the perks of being a vampire. by that time though he was deep within the darkness of the forest so no one could see him. stopping near a stump of a broken tree and sitting down, taking a drink from his water bottle. sweat dripped down over his body, his breath short but not labored. tilting his head up and looking above the trees at the stars that had taken to the night sky. it really was a beautiful night. the animals were scurrying all over the place, crickets chirping away and it was exactly what he needed. his mind or thoughts were no longer over the place, he had a moment of peace. standing up off the stump he started jogging back towards the campus, wanting to call it a night. not that he slept really but he relaxed in bed and it would be nice to finally not have his thoughts all over the place.
exiting the forest at a nice jog he worked his way towards the campus, crossing through the quidditch pitch. stopping in the middle of the track and just dropping to lay down on his back. it was all rather random but he didn't spend much time out on the field, since he wasn't much of a flyer of brooms. the cold grass felt nice against his warm tingling skin. the moon shined high in the sky, followed by dozens of bright twinkling stars. there was nothing more then he wished to share it with Dahlia or Nyla. though it was a bit romantic to spend with Dahlia, even if his feelings for the blond were all over the place. she was his best friend yet those feelings he had when he was younger were creeping back up on him. he didn't want them too, he wanted to be her best friend. that was all she needed him to be right now and he didn't want to mess that up. grumbling at himself since his thoughts were once again running amidst. pushing himself up off the ground and brushing the grass that was sticking to him. starting to head back towards his dorm, stopping as he spotted a head of blond hair near the entrance of the quidditch pitch. he knew that girls flew as well, but he didn't think they came out this late at night. walking slowly towards the entrance, unsure of what was a head of him. the last thing he needed was an encounter with another girl right now. "good evening. the pitch is all yours." offering the girl a smile as he tried to slip past her, not really sure if she was dressed to go flying but trying not to notice. |

because of the fact that her parents had wanted her to do it, she hadn't. if they had been smart and said they absolutely didn't want her to fly and made it convincing- which her mother was definitely capable of- she would have never stopped. either way, she was no longer a child and so she did occasionally work it in the air. for an odd, unknown reason, flying was one of the only things that she didn't show off with. why was a good question- the answer was still unknown though. walking slowly to the pitch, there was no rush when it was common knowledge barely anybody would be out at this time of night playing. the odd time when a game was upcoming, people would be practicing until dawn came around again. she knew this because she was a member of the slytherin Quidditch team. when games came around, her focus went to the games and not to the people watching and cheering around her. she loved hitting the bludgers at people- it was one of the only reasons as to why she had joined. if she injured somebody, there was a reason. it was all in the game. smirking slyly at the thought, she arrived at the pitch and saw that she actually wasn't alone. a male was there, attempting to pass but failing as she stood there in the way. examining him, she was getting a vibe that she didn't like. but why? she knew for a fact that they were in the same house and year, and so for that she did recognize him. most people tended to know who she was first, then going on to reminding her who they were but with him, something there had her recognizing him; you know, besides the fact that he was completely and utterly sexy. he even gave Jacen a run for his money, and coming from her mind that was saying a lot, even if not out loud. Jacen coming to her mind, tied in with the fact that the boy here at the pitch was competition appearance wise for him, she knew that she had to reel him in- make him stay and somehow use him to make Jacen jealous. she was damn good at doing that, after all. not that he wasn't good at making her tick too. continuing on her way, moving out of his way, she brought the broom that she had in her hands underneath her, mounted it, turned to him and winked before pushing off the ground. "this wood doesn't seem hard enough to me. do you know where i can some with potential?" she called out, smiling innocently and batting her eyelashes. going up to a height where he would clearly be able to see up her skimpy, casual white dress, she waited to see if he would play along or not even catch on. it was always somewhat amusing when they didn't. stupid people had their lucky days when they could amuse her, instead of frustrate the hell out of her and create anger that would surely rumble. already, the lonesome night she had planned had disappeared. different intensions had risen and she was sticking to them because once her mind was made up, there was no getting around it; especially when you were a part of the party.

| [atrb=width,240]the moment he laid eyes on the blond before him, he instantly recognized her. even though he had never actually talked to her. which was odd with how much he hung around with her twin sister. Celeste Harper was one of the few girls that had entered Donovan's live that was platonically friendly. granted he had tried to hit on her back in their Hogwarts days but failed miserably and instead they became friends. it was something they got to laugh about nowadays. she was one girl that he didn't have any romantic feelings towards, except for believing that she was downright gorgeous. she was almost like a little sister to him, something that Donovan never had before. he adored her little boy and often spent more time playing with him then talking to Celeste when he went to see her. it wasn't his fault that the little one was adorable, it was Celeste's. when Celeste was pregnant with her son though, Donovan had opened up to her in ways he hadn't with anyone else. his past was something that he kept firmly to himself. not because he was ashamed of it but because if he told someone he past, it meant revealing another dark secret to them. however, Donovan had been so worried that Celeste might give her son up for adoption that Donovan had nearly pleaded with her not to and told her why. it had been a heart wrenching moment for Donovan, recalling all of the nasty things of his childhood but he needed her to know what kind of life her son would lead if she went that path. thankfully she hadn't and Donovan had been supportive for her through her entire pregnancy and birth. making it an extreme wonder that he hadn't really crossed conversation with the blond bombshell before him.
though she may have the same looks as Celeste, anyone that knew them knew how different they actually were. Celeste was sweet and caring where as Ellery was the complete opposite. the only thing that told Donovan it wasn't Celeste before him, other then her scent, was the way she was dressed. Ellery Harper had quite the reputation to her, one that had most men that crossed her path drooling before she even approached them. he wasn't much different then the other guys when around her, except he wasn't foaming at the mouth. she was gorgeous and had the ability to make even Donovan freeze to place but he didn't see the point in making a mess of himself. it wasn't just with Celeste that he saw Ellery around though, they were in the same house. he had passed by her a time or two and even then usually found himself stopping and doing a double take. making sure that it wasn't Celeste first and then admiring how gorgeous Ellery was. not that Celeste wasn't gorgeous as well, Donovan was aware of her beauty as well except Ellery was more show off about it. she enjoyed the attention Donovan was sure of it, and he was more then happy to give it to her. Usually when he passed her in the common area he just continued on his way, since more then enough guys gave her it to her when they were there. however, he saw no harm in giving her attention tonight and finally talking to the girl. regardless of the fact that the last thing he needed was adding another girl to his troubles.
watching as she mounted the broom, his eyes dancing over her legs almost instinctively. Donovan's tongue traced out over his lips and he nearly choked on the breath he took in at her words. coughing he had never really encountered a girl who was so blunt with her actions or words. "perhaps the Quidditch shed has something more suited to your needs." he replied, half debating with himself just what kind of wood she was referring too. it didn't really take a genius to figure it out but girls were confusing at the best of times. "or perhaps a suitable male within the University." he offered, with a bit of a smirk appearing on his lips. "i myself don't see much need for a broom." shrugging his shoulders since Quidditch really wasn't his thing. he had attended a few games here and there with Nyla or one of his buddies but other then that he didn't see the fascination. especially when he could out run any broom without even trying. since Donovan was looking up at her, he didn't miss the view she provided him the higher she flew. merlin this girl really knew how to capture a guys attention and keep it, he thought to himself. her legs were long and incredibly sexy, something Donovan had noticed when she mounted her broom but now had a better view of. it was where he was training his eyes to stay, not really wanting to be rude. "why don't you come down and show me what it is that you find so fascinating about hard objects?" Donovan asked, shoving his hands into his pockets and waiting to see if she would accept his offer. perhaps his night was about to get a bit more interesting. a nice distraction might prove to be a good thing. get his mind of his feelings for his best friends. maybe it was just what the healer called for. |
