if there was someone whom he really connected with on campus, it was probably ray lupin, or as he liked to call her sun-ray. it was just the keon thing to do. the moment he got onto campus, he was in search of water. that was sort of his trademark. he needed water to live. not just like drinking water or anything. it had to be water you could swim in or something. and thankfully he found the swimming pool. now it wasn’t quite what he had hoped for, but it was better than nothing. and there was a blond hair girl swimming as if she were a mermaid. he couldn’t help but admire the sleekness of her movements, her speed in the water, the way she never stopped to even see that someone was staring at her, everything. and then when she stopped, it was only then that keon was able to recognize that this girl, she was gorgeous. and he knew gorgeous. when in hawaii and the sun is blazing and there’s tons of water around, you can only expect to see amazing girls running around in bikinis and getting some great tans. and so well, when she snapped at him, asking what he was doing there, he couldn’t help but stammer just a bit. i mean, really, when you’ve got a beautiful girl right there talking to you, it’s pretty hard not to stare. not only that but good looking girls with attitude, that just made them all the more hotter. he and the girl spoke a few more words, he couldn’t remember the conversation, but she wasn’t kicking him out or anything so he invited himself to stay. soon, he was taking his shirt off and jumping into the water with his boxers on. it was a pretty easy friendship after that. often times, he liked to bug her by calling her different names, mostly to keep himself amused, but also her name was flexible to play around with. and ray never really minded it... not too much anyways. she already poked fun at him too- his accent, his name, probably everything she could think of, but it was great. it was tons of fun.
seriously though, up till now, they were inseparable. they did everything together and although he still did think she was stunning, he knew there was no future for them as boyfriend-girlfriend. they worked better in these dynamics anyways, siblings like. this way, he could do stuff with her and she would never get mad. he wasn’t giving her flowers, he wasn’t buying chocolates, he wasn’t paying for her lunches, it was a win win situation, really. it sounded tacky and yeah, he knew that, but he couldn’t help it. he wasn’t very dedicated to relationships anyways. he hadn’t had a stead ygirlfriend since he was seventeen and that’s when he was dating the mayor’s daughter. and that didn’t last very long. they were together for maybe three weeks. he missed one date and suddenly he was on the mayor’s chopping block? the girl was a bitch about the whole thing, he didn’t need her da harpin’ on him like it was his fault. it was a great football game! what can i say? the first time ray heard that story, she burst out laughing and whacked him on the back of the head. she exclaimed how stupid keon was not to see why it was such a big issue and went on to explaining a girl’s thought process. as much as he hated being lectured, that was another great thing about ray. she really didn’t care whether you wanted to hear stuff or not, she’d tell you anyways. her criticism had actually saved him on multiple occasions from being a laughing stock. like the time he wanted to wear his multicolored neon socks, yeah. she helped him there big time. keon had real respect for ray and if you saw them together, you could see that from a mile away. there was no doubt that they had a connection.
keon glanced at his watch and groaned. somehow he could never remember that his watch was broken and needed to be fixed. then again, ray was supposed to tell him that. she was the smarter one of the two. he put his hand into his hair before glancing around to see whether the blond hair girl was around. he had something special planned out for the two today. some nut must have dropped a wedding invitation onto the floor because when keon went to go use the bathroom, he found it and it gave him a great idea. he told ray to get a decent looking dress or whatever and he’d meet her up at the park in a few hours or so. he managed to get some okay clothes- not a tux, pfft. that was crazy talk, but the outfit his ma always made for every special occasion when he felt too lazy to match colors and blah blah blah. he leaned back on the park bench, starting to feel really stupid for wearing a black polo with the tan pants to match. he hated dressing up. must be beach mentality. he shook his head at the thought. he’d get back into his normal clothes the minute they were back. he was dressing up for ray. she was worth it, after all. finally what seemed like ages, he saw her walking in his direction and a huge grin took over. keon raised his hand to let her know where he was... like his voice wasn’t loud enough for her to hear, “i thought you might be a no show!” he laughed and put his arm around her shoulders, “you’re looking rather nice, sun ray. you clean up well, i’ll tell you that!” one of his hands slipped into his pocket as he waved the invitation in her face, “guess what? we’re invited to a wedding that’s pretty nearby here!” keon took a casual glance at the invitation, enjoying the attention he was attracting, “according to this here sheet of paper, i am mister sean arden.” he grinned and raised his eyebrows, amused, “so are you up for it miz serena arden?”
notes, i know i've already said this maybe a billion times, but i already love them to pieces! got the wedding crashing idea from life unexpected. lmao <333 word count, 1042 thanks brooklyn from caution

There were three things that Soraya loved more than anything else in the world; Keon Lane, surprises and the opportunity to dress up. And today, Keon had presented her with all three things. When she had got his owl earlier on in the day, she had to admit it presented her with a rare opportunity to go through her extensive collection of clothes and find something ‘decent’. But, for any girl, this lead to the ultimate question; what should she wear? Right now, Soraya was sitting on her bed in her underwear, looking through the dresses she had placed on her bed. Her hair had been styled into an elegant side pony-tail, with not a single hair out of place. Her face had been made up, her lipstick pale and eye-lashes darken. All that was left was the dress, and it was proving to be the hardest decision. She had managed to limit her choices down to four dresses, all short, and all different colours that highlighted different features. She could go for boobs, butt, legs or hair. She couldn’t help but wish, in a small way, that he had warned her as to what this event was going to be. After all, you couldn’t wear black or white to a wedding, but you couldn’t wear pink to a party (God forbid you be clichéd and all). Looking over at the timer she had set up, she quickly realised she had little time to pick out her clothes. Deciding to go for legs, Soraya slipped into the dark blue one shouldered dress, and slipped on some plain strappy heels before grabbing a small black bag to take with her. Luckily for her, the bag already had already been pimped out with an undectable extension charm, so she was able to fit in a spare change of clothes for if their plans were suddenly cancelled. It also held her wand, a warm jersey and her wallet containing both muggle and wizarding world money. Whatever else could be said about Soraya Lupin and her reckless, spontaneous ways, at least she went into surprises extremely prepared.
Keon and Soraya’s relationship was fairly uncomplicated. And while she quite fancied the idea that their relationship had built up gradually after their initial meeting at the pool, she knew it was quite the opposite. She and Keon just clicked in a way that not many people clicked. After all, she knew that she wasn’t the easiest person to get along with, but they seemed to even each other out. While he was just as crazy and impulsive as she was, he was chilled out where she was highly strung, easy going where she was quite intense. She loved how he would deal with all the quirks that Soraya dealt with, and she loved that he was one of the few people that would just deal with her criticisms, her blunt honesty… Just her. He was like her better half, and she found when she was with him, she could enjoy herself a lot more, in a way that she didn’t feel she could with other people. In fact, she was sure that if she wasn’t in a relationship with Eli or had that thing with Toby, she’d be hounding Keon for dates. She loved Keon, but it was purely platonic and she counted him as her closest friend, her best friend, and the best thing to have walked into her life since she was a little girl. She was lucky to have him in her life, which is why she couldn’t wait to meet him at the park.
She smiled as she approached him in the park, wondering what the hell he was wearing. Where was his traditional Keon get-up? He was actually in something that resembled formal clothes. Shrugging it off, she scoffed at his comment. ”Me? Miss an opportunity to show off my clothing collection? Please.” She said with a laugh, feeling the weight of his arm around her shoulders while she wrapped both her arms around his waist, pulling him into a hug. Admittedly, it took a lot of effort, but effort it was worth it. As she looked at him, she couldn’t help but be in a state of absolute shock. He looked so good, not that he didn’t normally look good anyway, but it was just so surprising. ”The same can be said about you. Look at that… What, did your mum pick this out?” She exclaimed, grinning as she lightly punched the inside of his rib cage. However, once she saw what he was wearing she instantly wondered what on earth he had planned for the two of them. Which is why when she said ‘wedding’, she couldn’t help but let out a shallow laugh. Weddings, for girls, were something so sacred. She knew that she had been planning her own wedding since she was about seven; she had everything planned already. She knew that she would be absolutely mortified if someone crashed her own wedding but she couldn’t, for the life of her, resist this chance either. As she grappled with these inner demons, a smile slowly began to spread on her face. ”You, Mister Arden, are a terrible, terrible person. But I am so in.” She said, taking a look at the wedding invitation. ”So, I’m guessing you don’t know anything about our situation? We’re married, siblings, people who coincidentally share a last name?” She asked, shaking her head a little. While she considered this incredibly immoral and almost insured that she was going to be going to hell anyway, this was going to be fun. It was a surprise, and she got to dress up. And most importantly, Keon was stuck with her for the rest of the day. This was going to be epic. ”So, Sean. Where’s this wedding at, then?”

now honestly, he missed hawaii. he missed the cool breeze, the epic waves crashing onto shore. his family owned a house near the waters and so he and kalina would go out and swim and surf every morning, just hanging out like regular kids. and then they’d have school with a few other witches and wizards who weren’t able to really get the school part down. i mean, really, you don’t find many magical folks on that side of the world and so they sort of hung out in a bunch here and there. some of the locals thought of them as weird or always just causing trouble, but they didn’t mean to. now was it his fault that kapi accidentally blew up a blender? no way. yet, in england, the closest he got to hawaii was probably sunray here. she was his light and she helped him in the ways of the english. they were some weird people, he had to admit. the way they spoke, how they ate, everything. but ray was helping him. in fact, they were hanging out so much nowadays that she was starting to put some of her accent onto him. he had a strange mix of english and pidgin as people called it back at home. keon couldn’t even remember the last time he and ray hadn’t been super tight. they hung out almost all of the time and despite the fact that he just couldn’t seem to keep a steady relationship, she was probably the one he always relied on the most. she was his steady person, the one who he always went to if there was something up. like the time he accidentally got caught with some pot in his room. now it wasn’t his fault. it really was his roommate’s, but that week, he had gone home. he was visiting family and such and his friends decided to come over and get high. they got busted by the ra and of course, that was no fun. now he had to go to the student board and plead his case. thankfully ray told him that she’d be there for his hearing. she’d be there for support. no one else had told him that and frankly, he didn’t want to go there alone. so at that moment, he couldn’t wish for a better friend.
keon glanced at her and let out a low whistle, “damn girl, you’re lookin’ tall!” he laughed and went up to her, using his hand to measure the two of them out, “ah, never mind. not tall enough ‘pparently!” he shook his head and nudged her. but really, she was good looking; more than usual! he took a few more moments to check her out- simply because he was a guy and he couldn’t help it when there was a hot girl in front of him. her blue dress seemed to match perfectly with her bright eyes and it really made her look so much more attractive than he could really remember. keon gulped and looked away before he did something he probably would have regretted later on. he managed to cover it though when she made a joke and he rolled his eyes, “please. i’ve been pickin’ out my own clothes since last year. i don’t need my ma all time.” truth was though, he loved his mami. she was one of the most amazing people he ever knew and will know. she tutored them as kids and damn, already that got lots of respect. but he loved going home because of that. his mami and his friends and the sun, everything. he really should take ray there some day. she’d love it. he knew it for sure.
he grinned, the usual easy going smile he sported. it was his trademark. in fact, it was so much of a trademark that he was debating on whether to get it copyrighted. he knew that sometimes it drove ray crazy. she usually was frowning and he didn’t know why such a pretty girl would frown like that. he usually poked fun at her because of it, but really, he did it because he liked to see her smile. “i’d say we’re married,” he pretended to think hard about the whole situation. of course this was pretend. he liked playing pretend as strange as that sounded. gave him a chance to be someone else for a change, right? that mischevious side sort of came out by the look in his eyes and he laughed, “we met in the... the high school and knocked you up at... whatever dance. prom? winter formal? anyways, parents are super religious. we got married and now, we have... a three year old kid back at the place. how’s that for a life?” keon chuckled, putting his pockets into his hands, and kicking the gravel. he loved giving ray a hard time about everything. he had the tendency to do that to people. he gave them a hard time about how they dressed, how they acted, whatever little thing he could pick on them for. it wasn’t too difficult since he was rather observant and loved nothing more than to just observe people sometimes. but it did drive some people up the wall whenever he taunted them more or less. “the wedding,” he paused, glancing back at her, “just so happens to be over there.” he tilted his head towards a nearby building. you could hear music from inside and there was a sign outside that practically screamed wedding. not to mention, it seemed to be just the reception. oh darn. so they missed the whole ceremony? damn, he was going to throw something into the air if he could. he shook his head and then glanced back at the blond hair beauty. he smirked. "i may be terrible, but it's gonna be one hellava ride!"
