hey guys!
i just want to say that before i get started that the admins here have done an amazing job with the site, and this really is a lovely place to rp. everyone said it was so friendly and such, and it really is, so congrats to everyone for making this place fantastic, you all should be very proud.

i've just got two things to suggest, though, that might make the 'settling in' process for new members a little easier. i want to apologise in advance if these have already been discussed or whatever, just thought i should put it out there :]

firstly, i was wondering if in the 'character development' section, you could post a thread for open threads? or even a sub-board, where theres like a 'master thread' for all available open threads, and a place for people to request threadding opportunities. i do, however, understand this can be a big workload for admins and therefore propose this as a place for threads only, and not owls or whatever. it just makes coming in with a brand new character on a site where you know no one a little less intimidating, as wel as making it easier for other members to interact with some of the newer ones.

and secondly, i was wondering about a requested faces/canons claim. not even gonna lie, i spent a good hour looking through wanted ads- not because i wanted to fill one but because i wanted to make sure the lupin girl wasn't snagged and elyse taylor wasn't requested. as a new member, it kind of puts me off having to sift through all those wanted ads. so my suggestion is like, a separate claim, like the face claim, where the code could read something like this:

alias reserves face in this request

i dunno. i know this could take a lot of work for the admins too, but it gives people the chance to reserve who they want, if they want too. and then, if they don't, i think it gives all new rpers fair game to faces without having to search endlessly.

but yeah, they're just suggestions, and i hope they're useful in some way :]

the first one, usually i find if people post an open thread someone easily picks it up? i think our members are also very open to if you post on someone's shipping that they will accept a thread if offered? that's just my opinion though.

second, it's a good idea. i've seen it done before i think the problem is that if someone requests a character they might offer a range of pbs and a range of canons for just one character? i've seen it done before on sites where there are no canons so it was easier. since we have canons it's a little harder though. the staff can try to think up something though.

first: i can make one right away (: i had one on my last site and it wasn't posted in often, but even if members are good at posting in them, you're right. it would be much easier to find them if they were potentially in a thread!

second: i could see us making a face claim thread that lists people who are requested in the wanted ads? so that people know to look, and it's easier. if a specific canon is listed, that can be added as well, though most claims are just stating for a specific house and age. it's 5 am here so hopefully i'm making sense ; P

just wanted to say thanks for the speedy response! lol. and also thanks for throwing up an 'open threads' thing. and although i can now see the flaws in the plan, it might open up the realm of spontatneous plotting through shipping, which is always fun :]

as for the second one, i totally forgot about that point, carman. i don't even see how either, so thank you for pointing it out :] i dunno, i can see now that for this site in particular it might be quite difficult to do such a list, in which case people like me should stop being lazy lol. but i think if such a list were to exist, a face claim would be a good idea. if someone wants to claim one main face or something for it, since it'd be an optional thread, it can't be a bad idea? but i dunno, i do see that this might not work and would really like to thank you for considering it anyways :]
