It was three o’clock pm on a Tuesday night. There was nobody in the Gryffindor common room except for one girl- Candice Abella Bludd. Being a vampire, Candice couldn’t sleep. More accurately, she was unable to sleep- ever. There were many different ways that one could pass the night. Depending on how creative one could get, the Gryffindor night owl found herself always doing something new even if it involved the same thing two days in a row. For example: reading. Upon finding a book that was interesting enough to spend her time sitting down and reading, she would sit down and put the book across the room. Having excellent vision, she would read the book and then turn the page in a.. peculiar matter. Only a few nights ago Candice had found herself doing cartwheels around the whole common room to turn the page, only to skip her way back to the spot she choose on the couch to read what was now on the page, only to repeat this every time she finished. When continuing the book, it would come down to either a different way to turn the page, or reading the book upside down. The vampire had wondered for awhile whether it would be interesting. The hard part was finding something that she could hang off of. The University didn’t have too many random poles hanging horizontally around campus. She was thinking of reporting it to the campus director, though Victoria had told her that she should hold off on the idea, as she gave many suggestions and he had to read through all of them before being able to make any, or all, happen. It made sense when she thought about it, and Victoria was practically her mother, therefore she always listened to what she had to say. Who else would she get boundaries put in place by? Shaking her head of all the reading ideas and how she was planning to achieve her latest addition to add excitement to her nightly activities, today she had veered away from reading. Instead, the way she was spending her night was slightly more colorful. Literally. Upon walking into the room, only one color could be seen around the area where she sat cross-legged in the middle of the common room floor; green. There were green blankets, nightlights, streamers, drinks, foods, games. The list could go on for ages. Anything could when it involved Candice. The girl had a thing for talking endlessly. There was no such thing as ‘too much’ in her eyes. This was why for those who knew her, seeing his room and then looking at her, seeing that she was wearing her only green clothes a surprise would be the last thing they had coming to their mind.
The fact that she was wearing lace panties, a bra and a sweater that she left unzipped (she didn’t want to hide the rest of her green clothing) didn’t bother her in the slightest. Candice was a very naïve girl. If someone were to walk into the room, she wouldn’t see anything room with what she was doing. Instead, she’d be comfortable and the fact that she should potentially cover herself up didn’t seem to come to mind. Lighting one of the scented candles, it seemed of freshly cut grass. Taking it in, she let it waft around the room as she picked up the green plastic fork she had asked the elves to find for her. With that, a green plate with broccoli on it. There were several people who found it weird that a vampire ate human food. Candice had never been a normal vampire- whatever the definition of that was. Instead, she had taken things her own way and lived her life as if she was a human still. The sun bothered her but she still went outside daily. Human food tasted like dirt and yet she still found the desire in herself to try whatever she could. The explanation to what she was doing was as simple as that- she had a desire to try it. Keeping to the theme of green, in front of her she had broccoli, kiwi, lettuce, asparagus (with any signs of purple cut off), grapes, etcetera. The reason as to why she had chosen to go with trying the broccoli first was because it reminded her of outside. The top was much like a tree’s leaves, or a plant of any sort. This Gryffindor had to be one of the only people alive that understood the beauty of weeds. Although she hadn’t admitted it out loud- yet- up in her dorm, hidden in a box beneath her bed so that nobody would try and steal them, she had a collection of different assorted weeds. Today, the box was near the couch, joining her for her day of celebrating the color green and everything it included. Smiling brightly, Candice was enjoying herself, despite the fact that she was all alone. Eyeing the fire in front of her, she had colored it green. The flames danced in front of her eyes, showing its beauty with every spark and rising flame. There was something about fire that relaxed the girl. Stabbing the fork softly into her broccoli, she allowed it to enter her mouth. Chewing, she swallowed as she heard somebody on the other side of the room. To a human’s ears, no sound could be heard. Unless the noise was great, there was no hearing what went on outside of the dorm unless the entrance was open. To her hyper-active ears, however, she knew somebody was about to enter. Typically loving people, something kept her right where she was.
Keeping her eyes on her food, she ate another piece of broccoli as the door indeed opened and revealed somebody. Scrunching her nose up into a ball, the air around her no longer smelt like freshly cut grass. Instead it smelled like mud and sweat. And dog. ”I really mean this in the nicest way possible, but you need to shower. You smell completley awful.” she spoke up, breaking the silence that was in the air. Candice was being honest. She meant nothing offensive by what she was saying. ”Pronto.”
|
she added, swallowing once more, thinking to herself that if Nicola had been around she would have been glared at for finishing a sentence with even the slightest bit of food in her mouth. Here excuse? No one could see her chewing, and it had been the tiniest bit! In her eyes, telling him that she stunk worse than anything she had ever come across before was a good thing and chewing while talking while not facing him wasn’t a crime worth fussing over. It wasn’t like she was stuffing herself! She had more class than that. The shower point was so that way no one else would laugh at him as he walked by. Candice frowned upon the people who laughed at other people’s misfortunes. Turning, she froze as she noticed why she was feeling the way she did. The hair on her arms was raised and she felt as if she was on her defense. He was closer than he had been when she first started speaking, obviously, and so her instincts were kicking in. Having come across werewolves before, she knew that she was able to keep her cool but she didn’t know about him. That and she couldn’t ever let her guard down, and felt bad, even if it was natural and he was no doubt feeling hostile towards her too. Christian wandered back towards the Gryffindor common room as he made his way from a walk for his thoughts. Often he would go on these aimless walks or just go to the astronomy tower and sit. They let him just think and flush everything out. Preferably, he liked to have these moments during the daytime; it was always his preferred hours. Unfortunately with classes, studying, and the spotty weather that the University sported, he rarely go time to walk around during the nice days. Therefore he was forced to resort to having his retreats at night, aside from when it was a full moon. Christian had his potion, but he still preferred not to go out during those nights. Even if it was during an important event. Tonight his travels had taken him to the courtyard. It had been a stark contrast to the usual environment that filled the courtyard. During the day, when classes were active, it was filled with students walking through, sitting on a bench or standing and talking. When he arrived it was practically abandoned. There were a few students off to the far side conversing but Christian paid them no mind and they did the same. He sat along one of the walls, looking up to the cloudy sky. He preferred nights like this; when his tormentor was hidden. Some might think that this was an exaggeration but Christian just figured they didn’t understand. For a long time, not even he understood until his first time changing.
Now Christian knew better, and he always made sure to be careful in almost everything that he did, even if it wasn’t needed. Being at the University there was a brief thought that had passed through his mind, maybe he could be different. This was his chance to restart from everything that happen at Hogwarts. Now a junior, looking back at his first three years not much had changed. He couldn’t say he was unhappy with his life, he loved it. He had a tight circle of friends he could trust and nothing bad had happened so far, therefore he saw no reason to complain. Of course he wished he could have played quidditch at some point but he had come to realize it was just the unfortunate part of his problem; and added to the reason he hated being a werewolf. To his credit, Christian had never really thought of seeking out any other half-breeds. He was sure there were plenty others in the University, well maybe not plenty but one or two, yet he didn’t have any need to associate with them. It would make being a werewolf seem more part of him instead of like some foreign tumor. The young man accepted what had happened to him but he preferred to look at it as a sickness then a part of who he was now. Reaching the common room, Christian tried to shake his mind from the thoughts. He always preferred to sleep with a clear mind or at least happy thoughts. Before he could even glance around, the sounds of a voice reached his ears. Looking towards the source he didn’t know whether to be offended or not. Instead he just stood there like a deer in the headlights. “Uh…sorry?” a look of confusion crossed his features as brain function slowly started to return to him.
Glancing over the girl who sat alone Christian could feel himself get flustered. After all, in what she wore now it was all quite revealing though he didn’t get the sense that she was trying to be seductive in anyway. Either way, there was something different about her. Christian couldn’t quite put his finger on it; she seemed normal enough anyway but it was like a sixth sense, added onto all his other senses that were feeling it. “You shouldn’t stay up late by yourself” he commented, trying to break the silence as his feet started moving him towards the staircase, though his body was still turned towards her. “Classes in the morning, stuff like that.” Christian knew very well that plenty of students stayed up late, just look at him for example. However, he didn’t want to be offensive to this girl despite her opening statements. So instead he just withheld any mean comments and spoke senseless words. “I’ll be taking that shower now..” he trailed off as he stood at the foot of the stairs. Christian didn’t know what it was but he wanted to get away from this strange girl as soon as possible.

”You’re not going to stay and play?”
|
Candice’s choices of words were never normal. She phrased things in ways other people would take different than she meant it to be without noticing it. Although she was ‘nineteen,’ Candice loved games. If there was a baby around, she’d play peek-a-boo. If there was a toddler, hide and seek. Any ages up from that the variety was endless for games that they could play. She was always up for anything, whether it was reckless or not. Candice was a free-spirited girl and at times like the one presenting itself right now, common sense and natural feelings didn’t come as a red flag to her. Yes, she could feel it one hundred percent but because it wasn’t forcing her to bring her fangs out her mind simply passed it off as notification that he was different than other people; in other words, he was a werewolf. A long history was made out between vampires and werewolves. When it came down to it, Candice had learned that as long as they weren’t in form, they could put up with each other but there was never a time where they weren’t territorial and unable to sense the other. If this weren’t the case, Candice knew that they wouldn’t be able to even attend the same school. Either way, Candice didn’t care much that he kept her on edge. Truthfully, it kind of turned her on. However, the girl was very naïve to those types of feelings so she focused on her food instead. Eating another piece of broccoli, the girl began to feel a little lonely. She did spend many nights down in the common room all alone because no one else was awake and yet here a living person was, standing in the common room with her. The Gryffindor watched as her fellow house mate started to move towards the stars, head tilted to the side a little. Had she scared him? Perhaps she had offended him, even though she hadn’t meant to. Gracefully hoping up from the sitting position she was currently in to a straight, postured stance she made her way towards him. If he was going to be aggressive out of form she would be able to get out of the way fast enough. Candice had the upper hand against him and she was quite aware of it, though something told her that she wouldn’t need it; that and she was quite reckless on a regular basis simply out of pure lack of paranoia and care. She was always at her most powerful, where as he only was when he was changed from the moon. The blonde also had too much trusts in others. Werewolves somewhat intrigued her, although she had never admitted it out loud, it was true. Back at home, nobody liked werewolves. One bite from them and their life would be gone. It wasn’t a myth, as it was written as a cause of death for the vampire in several books about the two breeds. Her sisters were all different on how they voiced their opinion, though whenever she had thought about objecting and saying she didn’t mind them, Nicola would walk into the room and she would shut up right there. She wouldn’t believe that her sister was really a cold-hearted bitch. There was just no way! Could anyone really be that mean? Candice refused to believe it. She looked up to her sister and the strength that she showed on a daily basis. She was so strong-headed. Voicing opinions around her wasn’t such a good idea though. Out of her many sisters, Nic was one of the most opinionated, as well as the worst to get into a disagreement with. Victoria who was as close to a mother as she had knowledge of, told her to not get into anymore arguments with Nicola. That had been the end of it, she had to listen. Candice wasn’t into the whole bad girl thing. It had never been introduced to her, as well as never popped up into her mind. With Nicola on her mind, thoughts of werewolves completely thrown out the door, Candice glided over towards the tall, dark-haired man and pulled him into a hug. ”I’m so so so so so sooooooooo sorry if I offended you! Please come join me. Eat Broccoli. You don’t even have to shower first. I’m sure it’ll make up for my bad mouthing you! It’s very scrumptious and that’s coming from a vampire.” smiling widely up at him, she let him go, allowing her body to un-tense slightly without noticing it in the first place. Taking another whiff of the fellow in front of her, Candice suddenly recognized the smell. He had been outside, somewhere around where there was grass, though mud as well. Standing no more than two inches from him- she had no consciousness about personal space, ever- she spoke her mind once more. ”I know what you smell like! Oh my gosh! You smell like my food.” jumping up and down in one place, she couldn’t believe how she had missed out on this beforehand. He smelt exactly like the food that she liked to try out, except in a much stronger quantity. Realizing a minute later (no exaggeration there, it took her that long) that her phrasing was, once again, easily taken in the wrong way, especially with her being a vampire, she widened her eyes. ”I don’t mean food I want to eat. Well, that’s not true. I’m eating it right now. But I mean you don’t’ smell good. Like Broccoli. It tastes and smells gross to me, but it’s not as bad as it can get. The green is all still editable. Again, no offence intended, but I wouldn’t eat you. Your blood is tainted. And I also don’t eat people, to clear the air there. I don’t get why people assume all vampires do. It hurts my feelings. Do you think that all vampires drink blood out of humans? I’m sure it would be more fresh and juicy but ick. The thought isn’t one that turns me on. I’d hate to hurt anyone.” going in for a second hug, she was a very touchy-feely person even in this situation. Breathing for just a moment, she added; ”If you stay with me and play we can use a hose outside and I’ll give you a shower. If that’s not fair you can give me one too. Oooo! And we could have a water fight!” How was this night turning out in her mind to something fun instead of precautious and narly? Christian didn’t like not being in control. It was why he always made sure to take his potion to control his transformations, it was also why he kept a close circle of friends. Before he might not have cared and just lived his life with reckless abandon; however that seemed like it was a whole lifetime ago from where he was now. So when he had a young Gryffindor girl, who he was getting a bad vibe from initially, bounding over to him, Christian didn’t know what to do. He had always been a flirty person by nature but keeping with the theme of control he tried to restrain himself. The last thing he ever wanted to happen was to have a girl, or him get attached. Physically was one thing, but it was the emotional risk that Christian wasn’t willing to take. No woman should have to deal with being in love with a werewolf in his mind; he shouldn’t have to share his curse. Despite all the warning signs, she was still a woman in her underwear but Christian fought his urge to give her a smile or grin. The best idea right now was to just continue and head back up to his room. Before he could take another step though the strange, blonde haired Gryffindor was on him, her small arms pulling his body against hers in a hug. To say his reaction was bewilderment would be an understatement. As her words flowed out faster than he could comprehend he wished Aiden was here in his place. His best friend and University graduate was a much better man around women. It seemed any situation with any girl was something that Aiden could handle and right now Christian certainly couldn’t handle this, let alone know what to do.
“No, that’s fine I—“ he stopped his words mid-sentence as he went over what she had said. from a vampire. She was a vampire?! But he was a werewolf; which he suddenly realized she must know. Though paying attention in his Magical Creatures class in Hogwarts, he was sure that vampires and werewolves didn’t mix well. It explained why he had a sort of sixth sense feeling about her; unfortunately it didn’t explain why she was being so friendly and bubbly towards him. To be honest when he pictured vampires he always pictured pale, ugly, and creepy. The ones who stared you down in the corner as you ate your lunch, but she was different at least she seemed that way. Then she went and said he smelled like her food. This time Christian didn’t freeze up and indeed took a step back from her. As he recovered from his shock he gave her a weary look. “Wait, wait…slow down” he finally found his voice and stopped her. “You’re a vampire? and you know..what I am” he had to resisted cringing at the last words. Christian hated admitting that being a werewolf was actually apart of him instead of just some unfortunate disease he caught. “Why are you talking to me?” he didn’t intend for his question to come off as rude, he was genuinely confused as to why she would be hugging him and have a smile on her face if it wasn’t to kill him. Though if it did come off as rude she was a vampire so he had a fair excuse there. Before he could stop her she went on another rant and as he listened he became even more confused. Christian remained silent for a moment after she finished, trying to collect an understanding of what she was saying. A vampire that didn’t eat or rather drink the blood out of people; and she hated hurting anyone. Christian was beginning to wonder what kind of vampire he had actually stumbled upon. Maybe she was a weird new hybrid or something. “Uh…yeah. I mean that’s what vampires are known for” his mind decided to answer the only thing it could which was the question she addressed to him. As she moved towards him again, Christian put up an arm to hold her a length away. He was sure, now knowing she was a vampire, that if she wanted she could hug him anyway but he’d rather not. After all, she was still a female in next to nothing and he was still a male. He didn’t want to risk what happens when those two things usually meet in normal circumstances. “I don’t think you should be pressing yourself up against me” he stated simply, hoping she’d understand. When she carried on after a short pause the shock continued to flow through Christian. “Y-you’d let me give you a shower?” well this was certainly a strange vampire to be sure. “I don’t think that’s such a good idea. And I only stink to you, washing me won’t change that.” Part of him wondered if she was too friendly for her own good. Then again, it wasn’t as if anyone could hurt her. For a moment Christian wondered what Aiden would do in this situation. He had no doubt that his best friend would happily take the offer to shower and have a water fight with an attractive girl. As much as he tried to have that outlook, Christian just wasn’t Aiden. He couldn’t ignore warning signs or his cautious attitude when an opportunity like this presenting itself. “Thanks for the offer though…I think I should probably just shower upstairs and head to bed” shutting up his inner Aiden, the young werewolf gave her a friendly smile, hoping he wouldn’t spawn her wrath.

Candice wasn’t sure what she had come across. Okay, that wasn’t the right way to word it. The situation that had presented itself was easy to describe: a vampire and a werewolf in the same room. What the blonde didn’t understanding was the fact that he didn’t straight-up address himself as a werewolf, but instead said ‘know what I am,’ like he was ashamed of it. This worried the girl. Why would someone be ashamed of who they were? It was not right! Candice was a firm believer of confidence. Unfortunately, more often than not she came across people who lacked of it. ”Are you not proud to be a werewolf?”
|
she asked, head tilting to the side slightly. Candice Bludd didn’t know the difference between questions to think and wonder versus one’s normal to say out loud at any time. To her, they were all the same. The vampire didn’t feel awkwardness; she had no sensory for it whatsoever. One of the few things on the list of “do not ask” that she had caught onto was to not ask a lady who looks pregnant when they’re do, because fat people can look pregnant when they’re actually not. Bouncing back to the fact that he was surprised that she had known he was a werewolf, Candice was confused not that it was a hard feat to accomplish. ”You are feeling tension, are you not? Have you never been around a vampire before? Surely you have, there’s a whole bunch of us! I have plenty of sisters. But no brothers. Do you think male vampires are popular? I really should find out.. I’m curious. Are you a curious being? There is so much to know and I want to know it all! Information is like an orgasm. Though I don’t really remember what that’s like. It’s been awhile since I’ve had sex.” trailing off, the girl talked way too much for her own good. She didn’t have a need to breathe; therefore she didn’t stop talking for the longest periods of time. Looking passed the fact that she would live for quite awhile, Candice truly believe that one should say all the thought, as one day, everything could disappear right underneath their noses. Blinking a few times, if noses had been on her mind they weren’t anymore. Now, she was staring at his mouth. What had he said? Why was she talking to him? What kind of question was that! Why wouldn’t she be talking to him? Besides the fact that he was a werewolf, but she wasn’t a prejudge person and wanted to be friends with him anyways; or at least as much as a friend as they could be. The fact that all the tension in the room was turning her on didn’t help the constant rambling. Believe it or not, it was in fact possible for her to talk more than she usually did. It happened at times like now. ”I’m talking to you because I like talking. You’re also company, and I’d like company. It gets lonely down here at night. Having fun with just me is never as much as it can be with someone else. I never miss out on a chance to make a friend either!” Cupping one hand in the other as she spoke, Candice moved her shoulders side to side in a swaying motion, slowly and as if she were nervous saying this. Would the werewolf think she was crazy for proposition such a thought? A majority of the people who she came across thought she was wacked in the head, though she didn’t care for the most part. The vampire was proud to be who she was, plus half the time she didn’t even register the weird looks she received from surrounding public, never mind whoever she was with. One thing that was certain was that on Candice’s face, there was rarely ever a time where she wasn’t smiling. Her ‘mum’ had told her several times that it was a good thing she had bright, straight white teeth because otherwise, people would be looking at a whole lot of ugly. She had thought of objecting, though the day before she had come across a guy with rotting yellow-ish brown teeth and even she had troubles looking at them, which say something. However, Christian was able to turn her smile upside down. Not intentionally, she was sure, but by answering her question with the answer most people did. Why did vampires have to have such a bad picture going around, gluing themselves into people’s memories? The thought saddened her, as she was in no way like any of the throat-ripping vampires out there she and loved people, end of story! The stereotype, nevertheless, dragged her in and would un-doubtfully for the rest of her long life. ”You really shouldn’t believe what stories tell you, or even other people. There is such a thing as rumors! And lies. Because that’s a lie.. Well, sort of. I’m not like them. Some of my sisters aren’t either! It’s simply not fair.” a pouting lip, followed by a “humph” and a small stomp of her foot, Candice had a slight temper tamper for a moment. This was about as angry as she ever could get- if it could even be considered anger, that is. Trying to mend everything, Candice had approached the werewolf for a second time to give him yet another hug. This time, a road block appeared though. In front of her, a hand was set out to halt her in place, a sign not to move any further. It was common sense to know that, no matter how small she looked, it would be a fluff off of a feather for her to get passed him. A sign like such she was intelligent enough to catch onto, which for his sake was a good thing. Confused, yet again, at his reason for doing so Candice really wished she understood guys better. For her and many other girls as far as she was aware, the gender that was male could never be easily deciphered or explained. It sucked. ”Why’s that? Usually people don’t mind hugs. Guys always ask for more. They tell me I’m a good hugger all the time.” letting out a cheerful little laugh at the thought, it was true. Guys always told her the more hugs the merrier. Little did she know, it was because she was considered “hot” and had no issues pressing her body up close to them. ”Do I stink too?” lifting up her arm as she said this, she took a whiff of herself and didn’t smell anything. Perhaps she was missing it. A very unlikely situation with her senses being heighted, but still, her senses weren’t the point of the matter at hand. Nodding, she confirmed the showering situation. ”Weren’t you taught about fairness?” she asked, curious at this odd being. He seemed so unaware! For once, the places were reversed. It was odd, and she liked it. Different types of situations, especially the more unique, were her favorite. She loved the element of knowing anything could happen. Being comfortable wasn’t how she rolled. ”Plus I’m in the perfect outfit for a shower. Not much to remove, ya know?” glancing down at herself, she wasn’t wearing layers upon layers of clothing, so it was true. Moving her eyes to the upstairs region, she knew that the guys had no showers up there, so where did he think he was going? ”Come on. Have some fun with me! Shower! By ‘you stink’ I didn’t mean your werewolf stench either. That’s bearable considering I eat human food, which tastes like wet soil. There’s some sort of sweat mixed up outside odor going on too.” shrugging her shoulders, Candice’s hopeful eyes rested themselves on him once more. To say that Christian was caught off guard by this girl, if you could even still call her a girl, was an understatement. When she asked if he was proud to be a werewolf his nose scrunched up on instinct, a look of disgust crossing his face. He didn’t know why anyone would be proud to be what he had become. Having to take a potion just to make sure he didn’t hurt anyone. It sucked to be blunt and he was anything but proud to be one. Obviously she was proud to be a vampire, either that or she didn’t realize how bad she had it. Either way, Christian knew where he stood and if he could go back and change it he would. “Of course not. What’s there to be proud about, the fact that I can kill someone if I don’t keep it under control?” he asked, for the first time in the night his tone was a bit harsh. A stark contrast to the cheery tone that had floated from Candice. Then just like that he almost choked on his own spit from her next words. Merlin, she had no filter this vampire! “Uh well…that’s an..interesting way of putting it I guess. I’m sure guys are just scared off by your enthusiasm” Christian said, trying not to make it awkward. It was true though, he was a sentence or two away from bolting from the door. Then her sex comment, definitely inappropriate. Yet something told him she had no intention of it being taken that way. “I didn’t know vampires had sex” he said, not trying to be offensive but rather being honest. Something told him he shouldn’t have pressed the issue with the bubbly blonde but for once curiosity got the best of the young man.
Hearing her words, Christian had to admit that he was still skeptical. She seemed nice enough, and her intentions were nice even if far from innocent. But at the same time he had never encountered a vampire before, at least to his knowledge. This could just be a tactic they used to draw in their enemies and prey. “There’s nothing wrong with that I guess. Just the whole vampire thing makes it a bit curious” he said, voicing his thoughts. Everything was already out in the open, so there was no reason for Christian to be reserved and bite his tongue right? Plus did undead people have feelings? Hearing her protest, Christian started to find himself relax a bit more as he was actually starting to be amused by her. Whether it was a good thing that he was relaxing was another story. Whether or not he actually believed her was also up for debate. To think that a vampire wouldn’t jump at the chance of seeing a normal human was hard to believe. He was a werewolf and that obviously didn’t please her but if he was a normal human would he be dead by now? “So you’re saying it’s not rumor or lies then. It just doesn’t affect you” Christian clarified. Even if Candice was an innocent, naïve and curious vampire that didn’t mean every vampire that walked the earth was. Vampires like Werewolves were dangerous. Hell, Christian didn’t even trust himself.
For a moment the young man just stood there staring at her. It was clear why Candice had not been placed in Ravenclaw but he was starting to wonder if she should have been in Hufflepuff. They were the cheery innocent ones right? The young vampire, if there was such a thing, seemed to fit that description perfectly right now. “I’m sure they do” he said laughing a bit nervously. “You’re just…hardly dressed. and I’m a guy with natural reactions” he hoped what he was implying would be clear enough to her. If he had to explain further it would just start to become embarrassing for both of them. “No, no..you don’t stink” he said trying to avoid looking at her. He wondered if this was what parents felt like explaining sex to their kids. it was quite a conflict, listening to what his brain was saying and resisting what his instinct wanted. “I can see that..” he commented when she said she was in the perfect outfit for a shower. Looking back at her, keeping his eyes from the neck up the best he could, Christian felt himself reluctantly giving in. Sighing and letting his shoulders sag he thought it over. “I guess it couldn’t hurt. I’m keeping my underwear on though” he replied, giving her a stern look.

Candice didn't find herself taken a back at the snide vibe that carried over in his voice while responding. It neither bothered her, or caused the alarm that may have rose up in others. Instead, it made her even more curious. He wasn't proud to be a werewolf, and he was touchy about the subject- not to say that this stopped her from pressing the issue further. "but what is there to be ashamed of if you control it. you can't stop what happened to you, no. there are always ways to be positive though! you choose the good side of an unfortunate thing. you're a being that is thought mythical in some cultures. it's true magic." musing out her thoughts, she wasn't sure whether he would even take it in. her concern wasn't for if he listened to her though. many people passed her words right over their shoulders, as if she wasn't even there in the first place. Candice wasn't a sensitive girl because of the fact that she did things her own way, and dealt perfectly fine with what didn't due to her oblivious nature. "Scare them away? What! Does my face look scary when I smile?" |
to Candice, her enthusiasm was normal- it was merely just happy, therefore in her mind there was nothing that would be over the top, except the way she presented it- like with her big tooth-showing smile. eyebrows furrowing, she didn't want to think that her face scared people off. if it did, she would have to try and smile this and god forbid that happened! she wasn't sure if she could do it. not even for ten seconds! there was just too much to smile about to even consider the possibility. Suddenly bursting out into a snicker, she felt herself growing with amusement. Vampires not having sex? That was funny! He clearly hadn't met Nicola. "Nicola, one of my sisters, has sex all the time. It's crazy! But she's a sexy vampire. Even you would think so, despite the fact that you're hostile after a full moon." thinking of her sister, she smiled again. no matter how much of a cruel bitch Nicola was, she loved her nonetheless. talking about her sex life didn't seem inappropriate or private either. to her, it was merely fact. "Unlike her, I don't go looking for sex. So I haven't had it since..." looking away for a moment, flashbacks came from the dark periods in her life when everything was confusing and a young, good-looking man had been brought in after Blodwyn had disappeared. "a long time ago." finishing, the momentarily straight-faced expression that had come across her disappeared. no more of that would go through her head. no more. only positive. The fact that she was a vampire never failed to intrigue people, therefore the fact that it even did for a werewolf wasn't anything surprising. They still intrigued her- they as in werewolves, anyways. She knew all about her kind, and all the different personalities that they came with. Allowing a sigh to breath out, Candice waited for it to subside before she continued to speak. "No, they aren't rumours and lies. Vampires do feed on humans, just not all of them." not once in her life had she been proud of this, but it was how it was and she couldn't change it, no matter what she tried to do about it. "I'm not going to lie to you. It does affect me- all the time! I have willpower though. I wouldn't hurt a fly, never mind drain someone of their blood. It's not mine to take. They have a family- people who love them. Dreams, goals- why would I take that away from them? It's just not right for those who do. If you look at it this way, it's the same as a witch or wizard killing another. Unmoral and wrong, just with different methods." not smiling huge as she said this, her face was more sad than anything else. Her views were strong and she had never changed them. People thought vampires were monsters. It wasn't totally true. What they didn't look at was that humans could be just as much of a monster, despite the fact that they weren't a different breed. They killed, and not to live like vampires did (not going to say that some didn't do it just for fun) but for selfish reasons like revenge or covering their own arse when they did something wrong and got caught. If she actually thought into it, Candice hadn't been asked in a long time if she drank blood from humans. Her nature made people assume that she wasn't even a vampire. Apparently she was "too nice." If she were able, Candice would spread awareness that 'her kind' were all different, like humans. No two were the same, and just because stereotypes were out there, didn't mean they were true. It could be exhausting, but that was exactly why she stuck to her own thoughts, instead of musing on ones that could come up in several situations, like this one, and make her feel sad. Sadness was one of her least favourite emotions. Out of everything that she could feel, anger would be the worst. However, he last time she felt angry was too far for her to remember. Trying to recall it, she wasn't proud but she remembered not trusting herself at that point, and bolting far away from anyone that she could hurt. She may seem like a saint, but once in a blue moon she broke just like everybody else. Back when Candice had been sorted into her house, she had been considered for Hufflepuff before finalized into Gryffindor. Her past was what had her sorted into Gryffindor. The way she cooped was amazing and no one but her (though she never really paid much attention to it) was aware of this. She didn't feel like the trauma of her past was needed in a casual day-to-day conversation, no matter how long she had known the person for. Hell, she didn't even talk about it with her family and she talked, a lot, especially to them. Her personality showed courage in the way that she wasn't scared to stand up for herself and others (despite the fact that she was stronger than most), as well as explore the unknown without a second thought. Yes, it may be reckless but the sorting hat wasn't like people. It saw characteristics in a person that no one else would. That's all it did- explore, understand and decipher. Within a few seconds, it knew more about someone than they would about their selves, including how their future may play out as far as personality plays. It was tricky like that. "Considering you haven't moved any closer to me, I doubt that." smiling really big, she found the werewolf adorable. He was awkward and nervous, both of which she was enjoying to a great extent. As time moved along, she started to wonder more and more if she could break him out of the damned shell he seemed to have around him. Used to getting her way, when Christian agreed to go out with her and have some fun, she cheered perhaps a little too loud considering what time of night it was. "Let's go!" she exclaimed, reaching forward and grabbing his hand in hers, starting forward out of the common room to be outside within no time. She would run, but Candice was unsure whether werewolves could keep up with her full speed if they weren't turned. "How fast are you when you're like this?" she asked, not ever being able to help herself from asking a question she thought up. Her willpower for everything excluding human blood sucked balls. "I'll keep mine on too then! Fair is fair." eyes shimmering, this was going to be a much more exciting night than she had started off with.
