[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image:url(http://i56.tinypic.com/2zgu9hc.jpg); width: 440px; padding-top:10px;]between the truth & the lies --- today was an unusual day for leila. she actually felt good. and by that, she meant really good. she fallen asleep last night trying to study for this big test she had the next day, and had woken up oddly feeling refreshed. she went for a run and did an incredibly long one, barely feeling the pain in her legs. she had come back to her residence, showered and just overall felt good. this had to be a good sign, she told herself as she got ready. she smiled at herself in the mirror. a genuine smile. it had been a long time since she had been able to just smile at herself in the mirror and mean it. normally she didn't think too highly of herself, especially after waking up after a night of partying or falling into some random guy's bed. but today she felt good, and she looked good too. or at least she thought so. throwing a bag together, leila decided that the only way to keep this day from continuing alright was to not study in the school.
leila hated studying. she had hated it when she was eleven years old and she sure didn't like it now. the only problem now was that things had progressively gotten a lot harder and the hour or two she put into studying for one subject had turned to one or two days for one simple test. it wasn't fair. she wasn't naturally all that smart. not that she wasn't intelligent, but she got no enjoyment out of school or reading from text books and it took her a lot longer to retain information than some of the brainy people in ravenclaw. leila was thankful she had friends in ravenclaw growing up, especially adele, because they really helped with studying and staying on topic and also helped quiz her before the test. but the test did require studying, and though she had hit the books hard last night, she still needed to finish. but there was no way she was going to be sitting in the school and finishing it.
she had been outside earlier for her run and knew how gorgeous it was out. the sun was nice and hot, but there were clouds to deter it from becoming overly humid, and there was a very gentle breeze. enough to tickle your face, but not enough to send papers flying about. that's why leila thought the perfect place to study would be outside. she thought about going to the courtyard, but there were so many people there she was bound to get distracted. she had a hard time saying no to people, and an even harder time concentrating when there was a lot of action taking place around her. so she decided she would venture to the park. it was a nice park. leila had been there several times, running, throwing a frisbee around or just hanging out with friends. it was a cute little place that wasn't too overly popular, so leila thought it would be the perfect idea.
when she arrived at the park, she was right in the assumption that it wasn't too crowded. the few families and groups here and there, but the park was plenty big for them all. she spotted a space under a tree and quickly headed over for it. it had just the perfect amount of sun and shade, and she knew instantly this is where she would be getting most of her studying done. kneeling down, she sat on the ground, the grass under her providing a decent cushion. she propped herself up against the tree and pulled her book bag over to her. pulling out her book, paper and pens, she began to dig once more into the daunting subject of business.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style,background-image: url('http://i53.tinypic.com/wb98wn.jpg');,true] WHENEVER I RUN !
Watching his owl fly away for what seemed like the hundredth time in minutes, Mason couldn’t believe what he was being told. At first, he had though it was an April fool’s joke. It was long passed April though. Next he just thought it was Alexander being well.. Alexander but then he had it explained to him and he knew nothing was going around in a joking sense from the other side of the letter writing. The news was official. One of his best friends had a child- a four year old child, at that. Mason couldn’t believe that out of the two of him, Alex was the one who ended up with the child. Mason couldn’t count the amount of women he had slept with, where as Alexander had only ever slept with one- that one woman he had truly loved, at that. Mason knew all about Alexander and Celeste back at Hogwarts, and he had been jealous of what they had. That was, until it ended suddenly and worse than ever. He really couldn’t believe it. No one saw it coming, especially his poor best mate. Seeing it happen had really made Mason even bitterer about love than he had been in the first place thanks to Daphne. The last letter he had sent to his best mate was telling him to meet up with him, to gather his head out loud. Mason knew all too well that keeping it all in wasn’t a good thing. The Gryffindor also wanted to know what the hell was happening! He couldn’t believe that Celeste would do such a thing to Alexander. Though he also couldn’t exactly imagine how someone could keep a child in the dark for four years without getting rumors spread around. It must have taken major talent- not that in this case it was the good sort of talent a person could possess. Apperating to the park, he had mentioned to meet him there in an hour but Mason had planned all along to be there right away. The park nearby the school campus was a ground place to think. It wasn’t that popular and everybody was all spaced out, making the noise much more distant if one was trying to get away from exactly that. Mason had to just clear his head. It wasn’t even happening to him and he couldn’t believe this. Imagining what Alexander was feeling was something he wasn’t too sure he wanted to think about. It couldn’t be anything less than agonizing, or so he assumed.
The sun was a stunning blue, the sky clear or any clouds for miles. The grass was green from the massive rain they had been getting lately, and the wind was just right to keep anybody from overheating on such a nice day. Everything seemed perfect- so why was everything getting so.. out of place and disorganized? It was a good question, really, and Mason wanted to know the answer. Unfortunately, he knew that it was one that wouldn’t just pop out of nowhere. Magic was great and definitely real, but it wasn’t above and beyond. Pushing his hands into his pant pockets, Mason kept his head to the ground as he walked forward around the park, only coming to a stop when he saw a girl was right in front of him. Mason hadn’t really been paying attention, actually he hadn’t been paying attention at all, and it was only because of the bright white color of the textbook that he had noticed anybody was even around him. He was so off in his thoughts that it would have been easy to simply walk right by her. About to continue on his way and give the girl a polite smile, he ended up stopping in his tracks and taking a good look at her. She was Adele’s best friend. Adele Potter was his current girlfriend. They were going quite well at the time, though he was still having issues fully trusting. He had his heart broken once and to open up fully.. it was too risky. Mason didn’t feel free enough with her to do such a thing. She was nevertheless amazing, though. Every day. ”You’re Leila, right?”
|
[/b] he asked, hoping he was right. He listened to Adele but he had never seen the girl in person before so he went off of description. Mason respected beauty, and the girl in front of him definitely was one. Her bright blue eyes sparkled brighter than ever, capturing his attention immediately and holding it there. ”Mind if I sit?”[/b] there was time to waste on Mason’s schedule, and this thoughts were telling him that perhaps a nice talk with a presumably nice girl would be a good way to do such. There was no harm or foul in talking to his girl friend’s best friend, right? Didn’t girls like it when their boyfriends tried to befriend their friends? Mason was pretty sure he was right, so he went with his assumption and waited for her response, smiling a bright, pearly smile as he did so. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image:url(http://i56.tinypic.com/2zgu9hc.jpg); width: 440px; padding-top:10px;]between the truth & the lies --- leila had started to get into her text book. she had found the rhythm and she had found a way in which to absorb the knowledge and go through it at a steady pace. she was actually getting into it! she nearly could have exclaimed that fact at the top of her lungs had her eyes not been so glued to the words on the page as she was eager to continue this pace of studying and afraid at any moment she might lose the concentration she had and once again begin her attempts to find anything interesting inside her business text book. as she made it nearly through one whole chapter something interrupted her thought process. and that was a shadow and a close presence. the sun was bright today, and leila had felt the pleasant heat of the sun as she sat there reading her text. but somehow she had forgotten it was even there. a light that she just assumed would continuing shining, never to be interrupted. but it had been, and it was, as a large shadow cast over leila and her studying. she looked up to see a too familiar face, but a not so familiar person.
if she was to say the first thing that came to mind it would have been bentley. the boy standing in front of her was the spitting image of his twin brother, and friend of leila. but leila was aware that bentley had a twin brother, and that this was not bentley. though the two looked identical, there was something different about them. something different that she just couldn't put her finger on. but they were different, there was no doubt about that. she had never met mason before really, but had heard about him. heard that he was known for his parties and his girls, and she was somewhat surprised the two of them hadn't met before. but she knew he was dating some ravenclaw now, adele. and that was good for him.
she looked up and him with a smile when he asked her if she was leila. so he had heard about her too. that was a good thing. she nodded her head and smiled to him, gesturing for him to take a seat next to her in the next moment he asked. "of course, sit down. and yes, i'm leila. you're mason, right?" she too needed to make sure she had the right name. she knew it wasn't bentley, but she needed to verify the name once more. she laughed slightly as their awkward beginnings of a conversation and looked to her textbook that was still shining bright white against the contrast of the sun. so much for studying, she thought, closing the book lightly between where her two fingers had been. there was still lots of time for studying though, and though leila did try, she just didn't like school, nor did she care all that much if she got an A+. she would try her hardest and get what she got. she couldn't do anything better than her best.
"i'm trying to study for a business test tomorrow," leila confessed smiling lightly as she spoke to mason. "except business and i, don't really see eye to eye. makes the whole studying process a little harder." she laughed trying to make conversation with the student. she studied his face, noting the slight differences between his and what she remembered of bentley. bentley was almost like her knight in shining armor. he had saved her repeatedly from random guys at parties, and had found her crying once in the early hours of the morning. but their relationship was developing into an odd once slytherin and hufflepuff relationship, and the role that leila was beginning to see bentley take in her life was one of protection and a big brother nature. she wasn't really sure about their relationship at all, seeing as the two never discussed it, but she had no feelings for bentley apart from those she gained by getting a new close friend. but mason was cute. not cute, super attractive and she couldn't help but note the colour of his eyes as he spoke and looked at her. but she didn't even know mason! she could perhaps not even like the guy's personality. plus, he had a girlfriend. leila wasn't too keen on being one of those girls who a guy cheated on his last girlfriend with. no-sir-ee. she liked her men faithful. perhaps mason was faithful. she slapped herself mentally for even continuing her thoughts. mason, that was his name right? she didn't even know him. he had a girlfriend. she was in absolutely no position to seek a relationship right now. she didn't trust anyone. they could leave her. but she was jumping ahead of herself. back three spaces, leila reminded herself. this was an introduction, and chat in the park. nothing else.
